Chapter 37: I Eat Two Portions
Thirty-three Night Watchers turned into enemies.
After delivering this bad news to Yao Can, Mo Tu left.
Thirty-three is no small number.
After all, the total number of Night Watchers in Shanghe City was just a few hundred. With this assimilation speed, they might all be wiped out in a few days.
And this was only the beginning.
If Mo Tu hadn’t set up the network map in the base, this data could have been even higher.
The situation could get even worse in the coming days.
The resistance to Star Eclipses is rated based on the Night Watchers’ mental strength. Ultimately, aside from Sunlight level Night Watchers and some special individuals, everyone else is toast.
Of course, those thirty-three assimilated Night Watchers might have been double-crossed by regular citizens.

“Night Star, I wonder how she’s doing. It’s okay if she stays at home now, but going out would be risky.”
With that thought, Mo Tu decided to check on her. But just then, he saw a familiar figure ahead.
It was Night Lan and Lan Feng Su Yu.
Night Lan too noticed Mo Tu approaching and widened her eyes with evident surprise.
“You’re here?”
Stopping in front of them, Mo Tu smiled, “Does that surprise you? I told you I’m a Night Watcher.”
“No, you never mentioned it.”
Night Lan pouted, refusing to admit that Night Star and Night Lan were the same person.
Moreover, she felt like her secret had been exposed. Was it just a coincidence?
Lan Feng Su Yu looked puzzledly between Mo Tu and Night Lan, feeling like she was being kept in the dark about something.
“Excuse me, do you two know each other?”
Mo Tu chuckled, “We know each other.”
Lan Feng Su Yu’s blank expression deepened as her internal question marks multiplied.
She wanted to ask Mo Tu why he made her ask those strange questions for him that day instead of just asking herself.
Calling it shyness, Lan Feng Su Yu believed it.
But from the current situation, this had nothing to do with shyness at all!
How infuriating!
Lan Feng Su Yu glared angrily at Mo Tu, but he ignored her perfectly.
Mo Tu stared seriously at Night Lan, his smile fading.
“So, have you made up your mind?”
“Yes.”
“Tell me your answer.”
Taking a deep breath, Night Lan calmed herself down before looking resolutely at Mo Tu.
“Please help me with this.”
“Alright, just hearing that makes everything fine. Then follow me, we need to discuss how best to assist you.”
Lan Feng Su Yu stood there bewildered as they conversed, initially not interrupting.
But once she heard Mo Tu tell Night Lan to follow him, Lan Feng Su Yu erupted instantly.
“Hey!”
Lan Feng Su Yu clutched Night Lan’s shoulder defensively, staring menacingly at Mo Tu as if worried he’d steal the little loli away.
“The boss said to watch her. You can’t take her.”
“Let me talk to the boss, he’ll understand.”
“Uh, as long as he doesn’t tell me, it’s out of the question.”
Mo Tu glanced coolly at Lan Feng Su Yu for a moment, before smiling warmly, though she sensed something ominous.
Mo Tu took out his communicator in front of them and called someone while turning on speakerphone.
The next second, the call connected, and a man’s low voice came through.
“What’s up?”
“Hand over Night Lan to me, she might play a big role in this Star Eclipse incident. I need her cooperation.”
“Okay.”
“But…your subordinate, Lan Feng Su Yu, is very responsible. She says she’d only hand her over if the boss personally notifies her. Shouldn’t you address this?”
“Huh?”
When Mo Tu said this, Lan Feng Su Yu’s eyes widened slightly, her lips parting involuntarily in disbelief.
Most devastating of all was Yao Can’s straightforward response.
“Okay.”
This “okay” crushed her completely.
She was about to cry!
The call ended, and Mo Tu looked at the flustered Lan Feng Su Yu with a smile.
He seemed to be waiting for something.
Everyone tensed.
The next moment, new communication sounds rang out.
“Mmm…”
Lan Feng Su Yu’s body stiffened, looking like she was about to break down.
This was her situation.
“Mm, Boss…”
“Suyu, hand her over.”
“Okay…Got it…”
The call ended again.
Lan Feng Su Yu reluctantly released Night Lan, her movements trembling visibly. She clearly didn’t want to let go.
Mo Tu watched her reaction with amusement and said, “Well, there’s no need for you anymore, Suyu. Please leave, and remember to rest well tonight. There’s an important task tomorrow.”
Hearing this, Lan Feng Su Yu couldn’t hold back.
“Mm, you bully! Taking away my cute one is one thing, but mocking me now, ugh—!”
As she spoke, Lan Feng Su Yu ran off, crying uncontrollably.
She looked so pitiful, poor girl!

“Isn’t it wrong to bully girls like that?”

“Yeah.”
Nodding, Night Lan curiously asked, “So, what kind of person are you? You seem more impressive than a regular Night Watcher.”
“Just a miscellaneous helper. Don’t worry about it,” Mo Tu shrugged.
“Bullsh*t. Do you not want to tell me?”
“True.”
“Eh?”
Suddenly, Night Lan felt she barely knew Mo Tu.
What happened to being a good neighbor?
And the good neighbor relations they were supposed to have?
All of it seems like lies!
Night Star finally understood how Lan Feng Su Yu felt a moment ago.
So frustrating!
