### Chapter 75: The Purple Bracelet
And so, due to all sorts of reasons, Xia Yu was forced to hang out in the hospital for over a month.
Naturally, during this month, she had her mother, Wang Wenjuan, and younger sister, Xia Ling, keeping her company, so she wasn’t alone.
Originally, Xia Yu’s VIP room only had one bed, but to make sure Wang Wenjuan and Xia Ling could stay as well and to better accompany Xia Yu, they added two more beds; fortunately, there was enough space.
Many things happened during this month—one being that Xia Hong bought a car and a house. Since it was not in a very upscale city, the house did not cost too much. Adding the car, Xia Hong had quite a bit of money left. He planned to save some of it for his children’s college tuition.
Of course, in Xia Hong’s mind, he believed the money came from Jiang Bin as hush money, so he spent it without any guilt at all.
However, he did feel the need to share these good news with his family. Thus, Xia Yu got to hear about it from her mother.
She didn’t really have a problem with her father spending so much money; after all, what’s the point of having money if you don’t spend it? Plus, he was doing it to improve their quality of life, right?
Over a month later, Xia Yu’s health improved significantly, and with her family’s support, her mental state was much better too. Though, one thing remained unchanged: she didn’t talk much, seemingly unable to return to her old self.
Seeing that Xia Yu’s statistics were improving, the elderly psychologist came over with a smile to deliver the good news: “Little Yu, you’re recovering well. You’ve already reached the standards for discharge. What do you say? Ready to go home?”
Ignoring the doctor in the white coat, Xia Yu turned her gaze toward her mother, signaling for her to answer.
Seemingly knowing Xia Yu’s thoughts, Wang Wenjuan replied happily: “If that’s the case, then let’s go home. Leaving your studies behind for too long isn’t good.”
Wang Wenjuan was right; because both she and Xia Ling took turns taking care of Xia Yu, neither Xia Yu nor Xia Ling attended school during this time.
Of course, publicly speaking, they had no choice. But privately, Wang Wenjuan was excited to see the new house and car Xia Hong bought, which was another reason she wanted to go back.
“Alright, let’s get Xia Yu discharged. A car will take you guys home shortly,” the doctor continued, and handed Xia Yu a purple bracelet with indiscernible English inscribed on it: “Hey, summer is coming soon. Since you’re leaving, I’ll give you a little gift. It’s a mosquito repellent bracelet that keeps mosquitoes away. Don’t take it off!”
Although that was the stated meaning, it might have had a more significant implication.
Yes, the English written on the purple bracelet indicated Xia Yu’s condition. If she ever acted out due to her illness outside, surely someone would recognize the English and understand she’s a patient, not just a wild person, and would help to get her treatment.
Naturally, Xia Ling wanted to borrow Xia Yu’s pretty new bracelet. However, before she could even touch it, their mother stopped her, saying she would buy her a prettier one later.
Indeed, Wang Wenjuan understood the English inscription and the reasoning for this measure, even if she found it regrettable for her child to wear it.
So, after the discharge formalities were completed, Xia Yu left the hospital wearing a cast and using a crutch since it would be about a week before she could remove the cast—a wait until the time was up for safety’s sake…
