Chapter 58: What a Shame
Night Star was pinned on the bed by Luo Xi in a rather awkward position, feeling a hefty sense of oppression.
To Luo Xi, Night Star was simply a little lamb devoid of any resistance, just waiting to be slaughtered.
“Gulp~”
Night Star couldn’t help but swallow, and cautiously asked, “Um… Luo Xi, could you get off me? Can we just sleep normally tonight?”
The feeling of being pinned down by Luo Xi was quite peculiar.
At the moment, one of Luo Xi’s legs was wedged between Night Star’s legs, which clearly suggested something that made her shy.
Moreover, half of Luo Xi’s body was practically plastered against Night Star’s, her flimsy sleepwear doing absolutely nothing to conceal her alluring figure, making the heat of her skin underneath quite tempting.
Night Star’s body was gradually heating up, her heart racing with shyness.
Even though they snuggled together every night, this particular position was definitely not something Night Star could get accustomed to quickly.
If they were to sleep like this, Night Star wouldn’t be able to keep her cool.
However, Luo Xi seemed uninterested in budging.
“Well, since we aren’t doing that, let’s just keep kissing until you’re completely satisfied.”
“Eh?”
Night Star was taken aback.
She watched as Luo Xi’s face leaned closer, and her tender, cherry lips gently pressed against Night Star’s.
Another unexpected kiss had landed on her lips.
……
At the Night Watcher Base.
In Night Lan’s lounge.
A creature resembling a tangled-up cotton blanket was wriggling on the bed, and the emotions of the person inside were incredibly complicated, drawing curious glances from onlookers.
Zero Meow stared curiously at Night Lan, who was rolling around in her blanket cocoon. “What’s up with Night Lan? She looks like a moving maggot.”
White Fish smiled, watching the amusing scene. “She seems full of energy; she’ll definitely recover soon.”
Star Yoon temporarily set down her phone, pondering the recent spectacle. “Just now, Night Lan’s face was so red, it was like she had just done something super embarrassing.”
And indeed, that was the case.
Earlier, Night Lan had been chatting happily with them. Suddenly, her expression froze, her pupils shook, and soon her face was flushed, prompting her to dive onto the bed and wrap herself in her blanket.
After a brief moment of calm—like a little lazy bug that had spent all its energy—she began rolling around excitedly again, nearly bouncing up at some point.
Clearly, her energy was recovering quickly.
Of course, White Fish and the others had inquired about what happened to Night Lan, but all they got in response was her stammering “Nothing,” “Don’t worry about it,” “Wuwuwu,” and the like.
She looked like she had just experienced something utterly shocking.
Neko Shinna pondered after hearing Star Yoon’s words. “Seems like it really is that way; Night Lan must be feeling shy. As for why, only she knows.”
It isn’t tough to see the reason behind someone blushing.
Night Lan’s behavior was totally an indication of shyness.
When Neko Shinna used to snuggle with Night Lan, she’d feel bashful too, a mix of shyness and a little delight, thinking it was just a sign of their close friendship.
Everyone who’d been close to Night Lan could tell how she was feeling now.
Of course, if Night Lan didn’t choose to share, they wouldn’t pry either.
After a little while, the wriggling Night Lan finally calmed down, appearing utterly exhausted.
White Fish inquired, “Night Lan, are you feeling alright?”
“Umm… I’m… fine now…”
……
Back to Night Star.
“Whew… whew…”
Night Star was gasping on the bed, her face flushed, and her eyes glazed over.
“Too… too much…”
Finally pulling away, Luo Xi released Night Star, seeming as composed as ever. Her face was not flushed; she was as unbothered as if she had just done the laundry.
If Night Star hadn’t nearly lost her breath, Luo Xi would probably still be at it.
“Let’s go to sleep.”
“Guh… after doing that to me, you’re just going to sleep like nothing happened? Don’t you think that’s a bit excessive…?”
Night Star shot a resentful look at Luo Xi.
Night Star felt she had lost so many firsts when it came to Luo Xi. She had cuddled with White Fish and played some slightly embarrassing games with Loti Shana, but nothing had come close to the thrill of just a moment ago.
Though, she genuinely enjoyed it.
That sensation was simply addictive.
Luo Xi watched Night Star with an indifferent expression, leaned in closer, a few strands of hair brushing against her skin, causing the atmosphere to tingle with tension again.
“Are you… wanting to continue with me? If that’s your wish, I’ll grant it. No regrets.”
“Mmm…”
Night Star quickly turned her head away, trying to dodge Luo Xi’s bold gaze.
“Maybe let’s just skip it…”
“What a shame.”
Luo Xi settled back down, the lights in the room dimmed, and the atmosphere grew quiet.
Night Star’s inner turmoil gradually calmed, pulling herself out of her previous shyness.
After such an intense experience with Luo Xi, her ability to think had turned into a tangled mess.
She couldn’t quite comprehend the “no regrets” line.
Luo Xi felt so mysterious to her, yet she simply couldn’t connect the dots.
With the prospect of the Source of White ruled out, Luo Xi’s enigmatic presence only intensified.
Just then, Luo Xi wrapped her arms around Night Star, breaking her chain of thoughts.
At first, Night Star assumed Luo Xi was about to initiate something else, but just heard a whisper in her ear.
“Sleep.”
Looks like that was it for the night.
Night Star embraced Luo Xi’s petite frame, gently inhaling her sweet fragrance, and the drowsiness began to overtake her.
“Good night.”
……
On the other side,
Night Lan hadn’t fallen asleep; instead, she peeked her head out from her blanket, her hair a tangled mess, looking a bit like a little turtle.
Night Star and Night Lan’s sleep cycles were synchronized at their convenience.
While her body succumbed to sleep, her spirit was wide awake.
Night Lan leisurely hopped off the bed and made her way over to White Fish and the others to drink some water, slowly cooling down her flushed body.
Zero Meow and the others quietly watched her, seemingly trying to decipher something from her expressions.
Night Lan puffed up her cheeks, her face reddening again, as if she was up to some mischief.
“What are you looking at? Nothing happened! Go ahead and chat; I need to sleep soon.”
“Hmm, meow~ very suspicious, meow~”
Zero Meow, sensing something amiss and with her usual sassy attitude, was probably wanting to pry some secrets out of Night Lan.
White Fish quickly stepped in to cover for Night Lan. “Come on, Zero Meow, don’t tease Night Lan. Let her get some proper rest.”
“Hmm, meow, okay then.”
After Zero Meow dropped her teasing plans, Night Lan sighed with relief, sending a grateful glance toward White Fish.
Thank you! White Fish!
Just then, White Fish leaned in closer and whispered to Night Lan. “Is Night Star over there… doing something embarrassing with someone? From the way you reacted, it must have been intense, right?”
“Umm!”
Night Star’s cheeks flared up again.
The shyness that had just been suppressed surged back to life.
