Chapter 66 Ha~
In the Rising Sun Theater.
Once again, silence had fallen over the room.
The members of the theater group could sense how the Audience Performer’s mood had changed from joy to frustration and anger. It was like a complete mood swing.
No one knew what had happened.
To them—Kong Yu Bai and the others—it seemed that nothing particularly unpleasant had occurred with Night Star.
Everything was fine until suddenly, her mood took a bad turn. So, they all suspected the problem must be with Night Lan or some other reason they weren’t aware of.
Now, Night Star sat silently in the audience section, as if she’d lost all energy. No matter how many times the members of the theatre group tried to cheer her up, it made no difference. They couldn’t get even the slightest smile out of her.
This suggested that whatever was bothering her was really serious.
Night Star hadn’t said a word since the incident and now clearly was at her worst. There was nothing to do but wait for her to cool down before asking why she’s so upset.
Mo Rabbit sat casually beside her, looking unconcerned.
“So, how about you? Why did your mood suddenly take such an awful turn?”
“Uhh…”
Night Star didn’t answer; instead, she maintained a scowl as if saying “stay away,” wanting to be left alone.
Unlike the others, Mo Rabbit wasn’t going to tolerate this.
“Even though you’re still technically younger in age, if you’re still that childish inside I’ll be seriously bothered.”
“What? Are you saying I’m immature?”
“A bit, yeah.”
“Then you…”
Night Star’s eyes narrowed dangerously, and sparks of red flashed in them. Here she was, in a terrible mood, and now she had to deal with this mockery. Was Mo Rabbit bored of living and looking for trouble?
“You think this is comforting me?”
“Who told you I was here to comfort you?”
“Then are you here just to mock me? To laugh at my misfortune?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. How am I supposed to laugh when I don’t even know why you’re upset? The angry one here is you, not me. Did I develop mind-reading or memory retrieval skills overnight?”
“Uhh…”
Night Star’s anger simmered down rather quickly. Her behavior did seem somewhat childish.
Mo Rabbit glanced over at Kong Yu Bai and the others silently cheering her on a few feet away. She could only shake her head in exasperation. These people couldn’t stand to upset Night Star with harsh words, but they sent someone who was often bullied by everyone themselves – to deliver this message. Where’s the justice?
Justice in the theater group?
Oh well, this wasn’t the first time she’d broken the rules.
Who cared, anyway? She didn’t have to cuddle with the Audience Performer, but that person was the only one who got constantly harassed. Mo Rabbit sighed inwardly.
“You need to remember your place. You are the Audience Performer of the Rising Sun Theatre Group. If something goes wrong with you, we all have problems. We’ll find a way to make you happy if you’re unhappy here. Sitting around sulking doesn’t help. Who knows how to comfort you? Your worry is our worry. Maybe we should break open your skull to see what’s going on in there.”
“Sorry…”
Night Star apologized, feeling guilty. She admitted it was her own fault; too much focus on Luo Xi’s betrayal had caused her to neglect her friends’ feelings.
Seeing Night Star come to her senses, Mo Rabbit relaxed a bit.
“At last, you understand. Now, what’s the reason behind this sudden rage? Nothing from Night Lan should bother you that much; it must be something else, right? From my analysis, you’ve been back in time recently. It has something to do with your future trip, maybe some information you uncovered there?”
“Huh? Even if I didn’t tell you anything, you still managed to guess?”
Night Star was taken aback.
Mo Rabbit chuckled.
“Who do you think I am? Spotting these things is one of my skills. Not hard to figure out you’re wearing your heart on your sleeve.”
“What, are you trying to say I’m stupid?”
“Yeah, you are.”
Mo Rabbit didn’t hesitate to hit the nail on the head.
Night Star’s vein popped.
“What? Evil Mo Rabbit! Just because you helped me from sinking into depression doesn’t mean you can freely insult me!”
“I’m just stating the facts.”
Mo Rabbit crossed her arms, showing no intention of backing down.
After all, she’d been suffering under Night Star’s cruelty for quite a long time.
What could be worse at this point?
She might as well enjoy her role as the devil’s advocate.
Isn’t it normal for rebellious elements to arise in any team?
And Mo Rabbit was the Rising Sun Theatre Group’s resident rebel.
While the other members wouldn’t ridicule Night Star, Mo Rabbit was more than happy to take that mantle.
At least it gave her a chance to be a bit of a rebel.
Kong Yu Bai finally approached.
Gently tapping Mo Rabbit’s head as a warning, she said, “Stop picking on the Audience Performer, Announcer.”
“Fine.”
Mo Rabbit shrugged, letting the matter drop.
It’s not every day she could openly retaliate against Night Star’s treatment.
Too bad those who doted on the Audience Performer always stepped up at times like these.
As the group’s sole troublemaker, she remained at a disadvantage.
But Mo Rabbit had no complaints. It was her choice after all.
After all, being the Announcer of the Rising Sun Theatre Group was better than being part of the Night Watchers’ organization. It was much more fun and free.
End of story.
After completing her task, Kong Yu Bai asked Night Star directly.
Audience Performer, what could have possibly upset you so much? We’re here to help, and trust us, we can resolve anything. Please believe in us.”
“Uhh… I trust you… But the issue is complicated. I don’t even know how to explain it…”
Thinking of the complex events from the future, Night Star felt discouraged.
Mo Rabbit casually chimed in, “Maybe someone deceived you emotionally, and upon returning, realized you were dumped? That’s why you reacted so angrily just now?”
“Ahem…”
Night Star had no retort to that.
Seeing Night Star silent, Mo Rabbit went silent too. Around them, Kong Yu Bai and the others stayed quiet, watching Night Star’s reaction closely. Her eyes became even more reproachful, glancing at Mo Rabbit.
“Mo Rabbit… Do you really not have mind-reading powers? How do you always manage to guess correctly? Although I hate admitting it, you’re right; it fits.”
“Ha~ I guess this will be my source of amusement.”
