### Chapter 39: Courage That Breaks the Skies
Night Star was whisked away by Mo Tu.
Mo Yu stared, mouth agape, at their departing figures, utterly shocked.
“Boss, that guy is so arrogant! How can he talk to you like that?”
“He has the capital to do so.” Yao Can averted his gaze, clearly not interested in pushing the issue.
He didn’t choose to get into a spat with Mo Tu because Yao Can knew the priority was to resolve the Supernova Star Eclipses, not squabble among themselves.
On the other side, Mo Tu inferred correctly that Yao Can wouldn’t poke his nose into things, which gave him the gall to act so brazenly.
Anyway, Night Star was currently astonished, her eyes wide with admiration.
“Whoa! You actually dared to talk that way to that terrifying old man! Aren’t you afraid of offending him?”
“What’s there to be afraid of? We’re just colleagues. Just because we work together doesn’t mean we have to be buddies. Besides, once this is over, I’ll head back to Yun Chang City, and we won’t cross paths again. Totally normal.”
“Uh… But it feels so rude to talk like that.”
“If I don’t stand my ground, do you think he’ll let you off? He can be quite scary when he’s lecturing someone.”
Night Star suddenly got it and quickly gave a thumbs-up.
“Oh~ I support you! You were so cool just now!”
“Ha.”

Mo Tu was feeling pretty good.
Then Night Star’s expression turned puzzled again.
“But what exactly is your status? I remember that fish-eyed old man is like the big boss around here. Are you on the same level as him?”
“No, I’m just a jack-of-all-trades.”
“A sweeping monk, huh?”
Night Star’s face seemed to say, “You’re not fooling me this time,” as she claimed to have figured out Mo Tu’s true identity.
“Not that exaggerated. Technically, I’m not his subordinate, so he can’t command me. The leader of the Night Watchers in Yun Chang City could discipline me though.” Mo Tu shook his head lightly.
“And in a way, you’re also a Night Watcher of Yun Chang City. The secrets you carry should be kept safe by Yun Chang City, and other cities are not allowed to interfere. That’s the deal.”
“Ah, I see…” Then Night Star quickly pieced it together. “But I’m not a Night Watcher! That’s Night Lan!”
“Alright, alright, I get your point.” Mo Tu brushed her off casually.
Soon, they returned to the cafeteria, and Mo Tu ordered a bowl of noodles for Night Star as well.
Night Star sat beside Night Lan, their expressions suddenly tinged with sentiment.
After all this time, their bodies had finally reunited.
So touching!
“Hehehe~ Finally seeing you again~”
Night Star hugged Night Lan’s slim waist, affectionately rubbing against her like a sister seeking a favor.
Mo Tu looked on, utterly speechless.
“You have a problem, it needs fixing.”
Night Lan shot him a glare.
“Don’t worry about it. Are you jealous?”
“Jealous of what? I’m not a loli fan.”
“Well, I can only say you’re missing out on a rare treasure.”
After a bit of playful banter, Night Star started devouring her noodles, clearly famished.
Watching them move in sync was rather astonishing.
Sisters? More like two halves of a whole soul.
Mo Tu’s suspicions seemed more accurate than usual—what a sharp mind he had.
“Let’s eat and chat. What do you want my help with? I’d like to hear your thoughts.”
Night Lan swallowed her noodles and said earnestly, “I want you to help me find Lianhua. I’d like to meet her.”
After saying that, she continued to eat, and it was Night Star’s turn to speak up.
“Then I’ll find a way to awaken her memories. I believe that even if she has turned into a Star Eclipse, Lianhua can still be saved; she’s not an enemy.”
“Is that so? Fine, I agree.”
Mo Tu nodded blandly, not doubting their words.
Though it sounded a little out there, trust isn’t something that just falls from the sky.
That’s just how he was—trusting his instincts was the way to go.
“Do you still have the puppet with you?”
“Uh-huh.”
Night Star nodded, pulling the puppet out from behind her.
“I want to personally hand this puppet to Lianhua. It’s the most important thing to her.”
“Have you thought this through? This could possibly complicate things even more.”
“Yeah, I’ve thought it over. If something goes wrong, I’ll fix it myself, relying on my Star.”
A smirk crept onto Mo Tu’s face.
“As long as you have that determination, I was just worried you wouldn’t have the guts.”
“Hmph~ A real man living in this world should have the courage to sink ships! My courage is already soaring through the skies!”
Night Star and Night Lan clenched their tiny pink fists, their eyes sparkling with ambition.
“Although… that phrase doesn’t really suit you.”
“Who cares?”
That phrase had once suited her perfectly.
Now? Just a nod to it was good enough.
Night Lan and Night Star dug back into their noodles, quickly finishing a big bowl.
They wiped their cute little lips and curiously asked, “By the way, how will you help me?”
Mo Tu leaned back in his chair, looking relaxed.
“I’ll mobilize all the Night Watchers in the city. What else could I possibly do to help?”
“Hmm~ You really won’t tell them the truth?” Night Star felt bad imagining a bunch of Night Watchers being kept in the dark while they did her bidding.
“Do you really think that fish-eyed old man won’t insist on using the simplest method to end this when he learns the truth? That means destroying the puppet you have. Even then, would you still want to tell them?” Mo Tu’s smile was subtly mischievous.
With those words, Night Star immediately deflated, resembling a deflated cat.
“Let’s skip that, then.”
Mo Tu stood up, ready to leave.
“Alright then, for now, I’ll pave a way for you with all the Night Watchers, so this land can only be changed by you.”
“Okay.”
“Make sure to rest well. See you tomorrow.”
Watching Mo Tu’s retreating figure, Night Star and Night Lan suddenly felt that having a reliable neighbor wasn’t so bad.
But then a question arose.
Where would she rest tonight?
…
In Lan Feng Su Yu’s dorm.
Someone was feeling very down, having just transformed her sadness into appetite by devouring two big bowls of food, only to be hit by a wave of indigestion. She felt awful.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Someone was here to see her.
Lan Feng Su Yu stood up in confusion, walked over, and opened the door, only to be greeted by an adorable black-haired loli, who was shyly smiling at her.
“Uh… Su Yu sis, can I crash here for a night?”
Lan Feng Su Yu was instantly touched, nearly in tears as she hugged her.
“小夜澜!You didn’t abandon me, that’s so great~ Is that guy not giving you a place to stay? What a j*rk! I’m going to report him to the boss and bring you back!”
“Wait, no, that’s not it… um, actually there’s another person who needs you to take them in…”
“Hmm?”
Just as Lan Feng Su Yu looked puzzled, a silver-haired figure stepped out from behind Night Lan, looking like a copy of Night Lan.
“Uh… hi, I’m Night Star. I guess I can be considered Night Lan’s sister. Nice to meet you…”
“Eh?” Lan Feng Su Yu was utterly shocked.
Coming back to her senses, she blinked dazedly.
“Oh, so you’re the little sister! No worries, the bed here is super big—there’s room for as many as you want~”
“Uh, thanks.”
Night Star looked at the adorably clueless pink-haired girl, wanting to toss out some sarcasm.
But hey, she was living up to that natural airhead reputation, accepting everything way too quickly.
