**Chapter 78: A Tough Opponent**
The duel between Night Star Lan and the three First Generation Star Holders had already begun in a spectacularly chaotic fashion.
Right now, she was locked in a face-off with the Judger.
And from the name alone, you could hear the battle power screaming, “Back away, mere mortals!”
The Judger’s star was called “Sanction.”
And boy, did it deliver on that name! It meant powerful constraints and penalties for any wrongdoings.
The Judger was ready to unleash his literal interpretation of justice on Night Star Lan for all sorts of her mischief.
The more laws she broke, the more pain he could inflict, stacking that damage like some sort of twisted legal buffet!
The realm of law he operated under was ridiculously vast.
Having lived through numerous eras, he was well-versed in laws long gone and some that hadn’t even been invented yet!
A walking, talking legal textbook!
You could be walking the line of legality your whole life and not even know how many laws you were unknowingly trampling upon.
But the Judger? He could point them out like a game show host, and boy did he love to wield his “Sanction”!
In other words, think of him as a philosophical star—or a very serious referee in a very not-serious game!
“Black Feather Mode Activate!”
Feeling the intense pressure from the Judger, Night Star Lan powered up with the black feather abilities she snagged from the Group Leader, her aura soaring to new heights!
Both of them were enveloped in a swirling mass of star-eclipsing energy, making them look like disaster incarnate!
Suddenly, huge black wings sprouted from her back, dark feathers fluttering down like omens of doom—and it looked incredibly majestic!
Her whole vibe changed, and it was pure villain aesthetics!
The Demon King looked quite dapper in her newly found black feather powers as if she were ready to put on a captivating performance.
When those black feathers started drifting, they created an eye-popping visual spectacle—like the Oscars, but with a much darker twist!
But these feathers weren’t just pretty; they packed a punch!
Touch one, and weaker star powers would be wiped out faster than a bad reality TV star from the chart.
And just like that, they transformed into pure energy, enabling the Group Leader to turn into a being of cataclysmic power!
These black feathers were not just for decoration; they doubled as control devices for her audience etiquette!
Anyone who made contact would be instinctively drawn into wild cheering, because who could resist the allure of a good show?
And now, Night Star Lan was packing a lot of star eclipse power!
Those feathers could amp up her powers too.
While the First Generation Star Holders had their star abilities chopped and minced by the Record Keeper, the Group members were free to party hearty!
Changing settings required knowledge of the original playbook.
The Record Keeper was ready to modify the First Generation’s rules because, of course, she already knew them by heart!
But the abilities of the Group members were unknown to her, so all she could do was sit back, watch, and take notes.
Thus, Night Star Lan was adamant about not dragging this out into an endurance contest.
The three First Generation guys had unlimited mental energy, like a never-ending video game cheat for releasing skills.
No matter how many times they swung their gigantic bat of justice, their power just wouldn’t run dry.
And reality? Pfft—not bound by silly cooldowns!
As long as they had energy, they could keep going like the Energizer Bunny on caffeine!
Unlike Night Star Lan’s Wish Machine, which powered down after granting a wish—seriously, even magical machines need a break sometimes!
“Time to show you your inevitable defeat!”
“Don’t kid yourself!”
And thus began an explosion of epic clashes with the Judger’s massive hammer serving as a symbolic gavel of judgment, ready to slam down and smack some sense into the universe!
Each swing brought down so much pressure, it felt like facing a freight train—that you absolutely didn’t want to meet head-on!
One hit from that behemoth would cause astronomical damage.
Even with her perks from Life Blessing and Symbiosis, a hit would make her feel like she’d wrestled a bear!
Crash!
The hammer slammed into the ground with monstrous force, ripping the earth apart like a child tearing through wrapping paper on Christmas morning—except this was a lot less festive.
It was pure strength, without any legal niceties or small print.
If Night Star Lan met that hammer head-on, she’d be down for the count, possibly seeing her life flash before her eyes!
“Whoa… this destructiveness…”
She hesitated mid-air, trying to gauge just how serious her opponent was feeling.
He seemed relaxed, but even his casual display screamed “deadly threat!”
Black feathers continued to flutter around her.
That’s right, the almost-dramatic black feather domain was in full effect! Anyone who touched those feathers would be subject to a series of chaotic consequences.
Including but not limited to forced cheerleading, spiritual shock by the “Polite Demon,” and concept replacement disturbances!
If she could just manage to land one of those feathers on the Judger…
But of course, that was easier said than done! Those feathers were obliterated before they could even get close—you’d think they were allergic to his battle mode!
Clearly, those little tricks wouldn’t faze a First Generation Star Holder.
Even the strings from Doll City tried to wrap around him but were snapped quicker than a bad pun on stage.
The catch? The Judger wasn’t even fully engaged!
If he decided to take things up a notch, well, let’s just say she’d be facing power levels that defied all imagination!
Meanwhile, the Judgment Log was busily documenting everything about Night Star Lan’s abilities.
Sooner or later, she’d have a laundry list of weaknesses added to her credentials.
Every First Generation’s ability? Zapped!
“Blink” would be a one-and-done deal, distance forcefully compacted, and a prominent cooldown slapped on!
“Honest Trade” couldn’t be enforced without willing participants.
And poor Loti Shana was severely restricted—probably because the Record Keeper had it out for her!
“Probability Interference”? Forget it! No more relying on luck; it was time to roll up her sleeves!
This was the starting lineup for disaster.
If the Record Keeper kept tweaking things, no doubt that the Group members’ powers would get hit with a whole truckload of drawbacks, too!
Night Star Lan considered sneakily snatching some energy from the Perpetual Mechanism and the Record Keeper.
But not a chance! The Judger didn’t give her a smidgen of an opening, dominating the dual-body Night Star Lan with relentless pressure.
Trying to beat three First Generations without her Wish Machine? What a laugh—impossible!
Defeat was just a matter of time now.
With the Judger leading the charge, the Record Keeper and Perpetual Mechanism were safely tucked in the back, looking far more threatening than they appeared!
Those two back there? Definitely packing enough strength to make humans rethink their career choices.
At least that’s what the Dream Narrator hinted at!
Realizing this, Night Star Lan cautiously backed off, glaring at them.
“Are they… holding back? Do they think I’m a pushover? Or are they treating me akin to a mere favor for Bai?”
Her once-booming aura began to simmer down, as if she were suppressing a fiery volcanic eruption.
“How dare you! Do you think I’d be grateful? I’m dead serious here!”
And the Wish Princess hadn’t even joined the fray yet.
Surrendering? Not on her agenda!
“Wish Princess, let’s defeat these three without breaking a sweat!”
“Got it.”
