### Chapter 97: The Little Nobody
Night Lan walked into the Leader’s office and sat down face-to-face with the Leader.
“Rarely do you come to see me, what brings you here? Do you have something you need my help with? Or perhaps do you have some earth-shattering news to share? I’m pretty interested to hear what you have to say next.”
The Leader poured a glass of water for Night Lan, his eyes full of curiosity.
Night Lan drank the water and mentally prepared her words.
“Leader, please don’t be surprised by what I am about to say.”
“Hmm?”
Ling Feng suddenly felt this scene was familiar, as if he had experienced it once before.
At that time, Night Lan also said she had something important to tell him and told him not to be surprised.
But Ling Feng already knew about it.
Night Lan might as well have said nothing.
Ling Feng could only play along.
Would this time be similar?
“I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been trained professionally so no matter what you say, I won’t be surprised.”
Ling Feng calmly took a sip of tea, maintaining his composure, looking like some kind of health enthusiast.
Night Lan carefully asked:
“It’s actually really important; it could affect whether I can stay in the Night Watch group. Are you sure you won’t get angry?”
The Leader wrinkled his brows slightly, finally showing some reaction:
“Are you planning to leave the Night Watch?”
Night Lan quickly shook her head violently:
“No way, no way! How could I ever leave the Night Watch?”
“That’s fine then.”
Ling Feng had an inkling of what Night Lan was going to say but kept his anticipation up.
If she chose to share such a secret, it meant she trusted and belonged to the Night Watch deeply—something rare indeed.
Suddenly, Ling Feng felt a sense of relief, as if his long-lost daughter finally understood.
Once Night Lan confirmed the Leader wouldn’t be mad, she started to relax:
“Well, actually… I’m really just an audience performer for the Rising Sun Theater Group.”
“Mm, I see. I’m quite surprised.”
Ling Feng looked unsurprised, almost like he expected it. He had guessed all along what she would say and now it was confirmed.
Ling Feng waited eagerly, and finally, the day came.
But seeing the Leader’s unimpressed expression, Night Lan thought he didn’t believe her and panicked.
“Not kidding! It’s true! I really am just an Audience Performer. Even though pictures show both of us in the same place, it was like a split personality, you get it, right? Everything started when the Group Leader, the Gentleman, and the Fraudster were in Yun Chang City. I just happened to meet them and joined in, for real!”
Even though this matter seemed very crucial with a lot of information, even after the Leader said he wouldn’t be surprised, Night Lan doubted it.
She was ready for the Leader to be shocked!
But reality told her that wasn’t the case.
What else could this be, other than an anomaly?
Seeing Night Lan so desperate, Ling Feng couldn’t help but laugh.
“Don’t worry. I believe everything you’re saying. Why am I not surprised? It’s just because I already knew about this.”
“Huh?”
A question mark flashed over Night Lan’s head.
“How did you know? Have I been exposed?”
Night Lan thought it was due to her terrible acting skills, which led to being uncovered by the Leader.
The Leader nodded and shook his head again.
“You were indeed exposed, but not by me—it was someone else who told me.”
“Who?”
Night Lan asked instantly, her mind racing.
Which nobody rat-outed her?
To which Ling Feng replied with a smile, “Of course, it’s Mo Tu. Or rather, the announcer from the Rising Sun Theater Group.”
Night Lan’s eyes widened.
“How did this happen?! Mo Rabbit dared betray me! So she’s actually a dual-agent spy too?”
Night Lan had assumed Mo Rabbit wouldn’t spill the beans under her control.
But instead, she secretly informed the Leader behind her back. What a sneaky move!
Wait a minute.
Night Lan wasn’t sure how to describe it.
As a Night Watch member, Mo Tu naturally served the Night Watch Leader.
Mo Rabbit, as an announcer, worked wholeheartedly at the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Each role seemed loyal in its own right.
Moreover, her betrayal hadn’t caused any significant loss to Night Star Lan.
Sure, informing the Leader might not be a huge deal considering the Leader had always taken care of her and even solved many of her problems, ensuring her daily life.
It almost seemed acceptable.
But even so, Mo Rabbit’s unauthorized tip-off was still a betrayal!
She had to plan severe reprisals against her later!
Meanwhile…
At home, making desserts, Mo Rabbit suddenly sneezed.
“Achoo!”
Mo Rabbit rubbed her nose curiously, tilting her head.
“Who’s talking about me? Could it be that loli?”
She was too lazy to divine who it was.
It was probably just that foolish loli, nine times out of ten.
This was her experience so far.
And she didn’t know why, maybe someone casually said something about her, as long as they weren’t thinking about torturing her all the time.
Afterward, Mo Rabbit pushed these distracting thoughts aside and focused on finishing the desserts.
At least she was skilled at making treats.
As Night Star Lan’s neighbor, she used to make delicacies to win her over frequently, putting in a lot of effort to achieve her goal.
Come to think of it, she hadn’t made anything in a while.
Mo Rabbit loved desserts and often ate them, but she hadn’t made any recently.
She figured her answer was that every day, some loli from Night Lan’s entourage shared desserts with the members of the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Neko Shinna’s chef, Star, was heaven-sent for gluttons.
Mo Rabbit was always happy with Neko Shinna’s cooking, considering her the best dessert maker around.
But eating someone else’s creations constantly wasn’t great either.
If one day Neko Shinna stopped providing desserts, Mo Rabbit might struggle with the absence of sweets, experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
In short, she didn’t want to beg for food in Night Star Lan’s harem of lolis.
So she couldn’t neglect her own talent in baking—maybe not as good as Neko Shinna’s, but still better than many others.
Practicing dessert making regularly was key.
With nothing much else to do anyway.
Even if there were distractions, she didn’t have the license to participate.
Why not spend her days honing her skills at home?
How lovely!
“Haha.”
Thinking of this, Mo Rabbit let out a cheerful smile, relishing the rare leisure time.
Unbeknownst to her, Night Star Lan had already discovered her betrayal.
Had Mo Rabbit known about this, she probably wouldn’t be so joyous now.
