Chapter 98: Speeding Up the Process
Leader’s Office.
Night Lan mentally noted in her little black book the fact that Mo Tu had betrayed her and decided to settle the score later.
Since she has accepted the concept of betrayal, then let her receive her punishment.
Ling Feng happily watched the ever-changing expressions on Night Lan’s face.
It looks like Mo Tu will suffer some undeserved trouble in the future.
But what does it matter?
That guy hasn’t returned to the Night Watcher base for quite some time now.
Recently, even his shadow hasn’t been seen.
He may have forgotten the identity of a Night Watcher and completely immersed himself in the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Of course, in Ling Feng’s view, even if the Rising Sun Theater Group is led by Star Night, it’s still not considered a dangerous organization; instead, it’s one of us and there’s no need to worry about disrupting the order.
Even if Mo Tu jumps from the Night Watcher organization to the Rising Sun Theater Group, he’s just changing workplaces; so long as he doesn’t cause chaos, all is good.
As long as Night Lan remains within the Night Watcher organization, everything is fine.
Given this situation, there’s no need for Ling Feng to protect that troublemaker anymore.
Using her entirely as a tool person for Star Lan might work out too.
Mo Tu has seen enough fun; it’s time someone appreciates him as a source of fun.
With her mind focused on revenge, Night Lan brought herself back to reality.
The most important thing right now isn’t thinking about persecuting Mo Tu, but rather how she can explain to the leader what’s going to happen next.
“Um… Leader, you won’t be mad after knowing all the important things I’ve withheld, will you?”
“Why would I be mad? You have a kind heart; you won’t disrupt the order. So long as your intentions are good, I’ll tolerate all of your actions. Everything you’ve done so far has been great. Why should I be mad?”
“Oh! In that case, I feel relieved.”
After learning that the Leader wasn’t upset because of her withholding such critical information, Night Lan finally felt at ease.
However, the fact that the Leader figured out so early and didn’t expose her meant one thing was obvious.
What a terrific boss!
Now she could finally confidently share her plan.
It was about the harmonious vision of the future.
“In fact, I went to the future timeline recently and saw the scene after three years. It made me think we can speed up the process, which requires cooperation from the Night Watchers.”
“Future visions, huh? I’m quite interested. Please share your ideas.”
Then Night Lan began describing the vision of the cooperation between the Rising Sun Theater Group and the Night Watcher Organization, along with various details.
The Leader fell into deep thought, forming a rough prediction from Night Lan’s description.
“I get it, this is indeed a good way to further stabilize the order. It also promotes the cooperation between Night Watchers and Star Eclipses. It will benefit everyone by constructing a harmonious vision. However, achieving this outcome will require some preparation; it can’t be accomplished overnight.”
Night Lan smiled.
“That’s why I need Leader’s help. Leader must have a solution, right? Our Rising Sun Theater Group is always ready at any moment; we’re just waiting for the Night Watcher Organization to respond.”
“Since you put it that way, as the leader, it would be awkward if I couldn’t provide any assistance.”
Ling Feng chuckled.
“I’ll take care of it, but there’s something I need to ask. The last weekend performance, the Audience Performer wasn’t present, which I can understand, but why didn’t the Group Leader show up either? Was something wrong?”
Although Ling Feng felt secure under Star Night’s command of the Rising Sun Theater Group,
there were still some things he needed clarity on.
His intuition told him it wasn’t simple.
Night Lan’s smile gradually faded as she softly nodded.
“Mmm, there was a minor accident. It involves the Origin of the Stars. Leader, do you know about the Origin of the Stars?”
“Of course, Mo Tu also told me this.”
“Mmh… That guy really tells everything.”
If Night Lan found out Mo Tu had revealed those secrets, she definitely wanted to teach her a lesson.
Back on track.
Night Lan took a deep breath and said to the Leader, “The disappearance of the Group Leader is related to the Origin of Kuro. That’s the ancestor of Star Eclipses. He recently came under my control, but an incident happened while using his power. My guess is that the Group Leader is being controlled by Kuro.”
The Leader’s expression gradually turned serious.
“It sounds serious.”
“Yeah, it is. But fortunately, they aren’t in this time-space. They’ve probably gone to another time-space. To avoid them causing irreversible consequences, I’ll seek them out. We need to stabilize the situation.”
“Do you have confidence in that?”
“Well, hopefully.”
Hearing the vague response from Night Lan, even Ling Feng started to feel uneasy.
“If you need any help, just say so. This concerns our concern with maintaining order, and we won’t just stand by.”
“But, you probably wouldn’t be able to help. Still, let me handle it myself.”
Night Lan mumbled.
Though she didn’t sound convincing, she did give off the impression of undervaluing the Night Watcher.
Ling Feng’s lip twitched, unsure of what to say in refutation.
Should he bring up their past achievements to prove their strength?
But those achievements seemed trivial compared to what Star Lan has recently done.
Facing what enemy?
The First Generation Star Eclipses and the Origin of Kuro, both terrifying existences above supernovas, could easily cause massive disasters.
What kind of strength does the Night Watcher have?
Sure, dealing with Star Eclipses below the highest level or regular supernovas might be easy. Even ordinary supernovas could withstand the competition.
But surpassing the scale of a supernova, regular Night Watchers probably would struggle.
Even the proud Sunlight Night Watcher may not make much of a difference.
Could the First Generation Star Eclipses and the Origin of Kuro be fought by the Night Watchers?
They absolutely can’t.
They don’t have that strength.
Ling Feng suddenly felt complicated.
“While I want to help you, given my limited capabilities, the best I can offer is moral support. Stay safe.”
“Mmm, of course, I cherish my life more than anyone else. I won’t throw my life away recklessly. I’ll return with good news.”
With this told to the leader, Night Lan finally relaxed completely.
This way, even if she failed to return, the Leader would arrange everything well, accelerating towards the harmonious vision of the future.
No!
I will definitely come back!
How could she, the loli-loving one, be missing from the harmonious vision!
At that moment, Night Lan suddenly recalled something else.
“Oh right, Leader. There’s one more thing I need your help with. I brought the Origin of White back from the future timeline and might need a legal identity. Should I bring her to see you?”
“Mmh… The creator of stars? Although I’m curious, it’s not worth her time to meet someone as insignificant as me. Legal identity matters can be handled by your city’s leader. He will manage everything.”
“Mmm, then there’s nothing else for me to say. I’ll leave now.”
