Chapter 807

### Chapter 6: Covert Entry

While hanging around in the Rising Sun Theater, Night Star Lan was mindlessly scrolling through groups.

No wait.

It was more about staying informed about the latest events in this world.

Everyone knows that groupmates are like walking encyclopedias.

You often know everything big and small happening recently just from what they share, making them the most efficient gossip circles.

Night Star Lan saved herself the hassle of searching, enjoying real-time updates while casually scrolling. It was pretty cool.

And it turns out, the world’s mysterious realms weren’t completely hidden.

Many ordinary folks knew about the [Mist Hidden Beast] and [Ability Users].

After all, those beasts and their battle roars were so dramatic; keeping them secret from the masses? Forget it.

Star Eclipses were a bit more discreet.

They could only be spotted by the unlucky few, and even then, only if you were close enough to their disastrous side effects.

The Night Watchers kept things under control as much as possible, trying to reduce the noise and commotion.

But the Mist Hidden Beasts came with a naturally chaotic mist environment, along with destructive tendencies. They were like villains trying too hard to prove themselves.

In such conditions, even official organizations couldn’t hide much for long; the cat would eventually be out of the bag.

Night Star Lan dug into recent years’ events.

She found plenty of interesting stuff.

A few years back, the [Mist Hidden Disaster] hit big time, bringing with it a plethora of Mist Hidden Beasts. Vast areas of fog blanketed the land, reminiscent of the apocalypse.

Good thing Guardians were deployed en masse. They used every resource available and suffered massive losses to suppress the outbreak.

Many lost their lives during that battle, earning the title of true heroes.

Once the disaster was over, the Guardians vanished from public sight, choosing to remain in the shadows rather than mingling with the crowd.

Interesting, sort of like how the Night Watchers operated on her end.

Putting special forces in the spotlight seemed counterproductive; fading into the background worked better.

Night Star Lan had spent quite some time online, collecting useful information efficiently.

However, she hit a limitation. She could only get surface-level intel, missing out on deeper secrets.

Pity.

Like who exactly led the charge against the [Mist Hidden Disaster].

Official explanations just called them valiant fighters working together.

Everything else remained hush-hush.

Mo Rabbit mentioned a powerful entity spearheading the rescue operation.

Probably top-secret, kind of like Night Star Lan’s position within the Night Watchers.

Sighing deeply, she thought, “What a shame.”

She’d have to wait for Mo Rabbit to return with more details.

Then she shifted focus onto Air Lord, her newfound acquaintance.

Though she wasn’t active online, she did put out some content—dab dance videos and music?

Cool beans!

Night Star Lan eagerly clicked in, enjoying every minute of it.

“Such a cute girl! Who knew there would be so many pretty maids dancing with Loli Sky? This must be the law of attraction!”

Like herself, she also hung around lots of pretty girls.

Clearly, they shared commonalities:

– Both Loli enthusiasts.

– Both adorable Lolis.

– Surrounded by beautiful maid ensigns.

– Shared love for ACG culture.

– Had names starting with “Night.”

Wow, what serendipity!

It felt like destiny’s reward!

She figured Air Lord might click well with her, but should she take action?

Even just catching a glimpse from afar sounded nice.

No harm in just peeking right?

Night Star Lan pondered briefly before shaking her head vigorously.

“Nope, I’m here to find the Group Leader! Getting distracted by friendship is a no-go!”

Yet, this didn’t stop her from continuing to browse amusing stuff after dark.

Quite splendid!

Switch scenes.

Mo Rabbit arrived at her intended location using information burned deep into her memory.

“Flying Wing Academy…a special institution for nurturing Ability Users?”

From what she learned:

Most members of the Guardian organization came from this mysterious academy.

All the students were essentially Ability Users.

These students grew rapidly within the academy, ready to face terrible Mist Hidden Beasts in just three years—a stark contrast to regular schools.

It was more like a military camp teeming with powerful Ability Users.

Although the source of past disasters vanished and these users no longer faced perilous monsters,

Flying Wing Academy persisted in cultivating more Ability Users. These grads then got sent to the Guardian organization for various jobs, addressing societal problems and guarding against future threats.

No room for complacency here.

Past tragedies proved anything could happen anytime.

So Mo Rabbit decided to sneak into the Flying Wing Academy for some fun and to sate her curiosity.

She could gather more intel while she was there. Win-win.

Naturally, sneaking into a school with heightened defenses was less daunting than doing so in an official Guardian compound.

With luck, she could dodge any traps.

Let’s roll then.

Moments later.

Mo Rabbit breezed through the academy’s defenses with her handy [Hetu Luoshu] technique.

Piece of cake.

“Hmpf, your defenses are good, but they can’t stop me.”

Now it was time to find something amusing to do.

Excitement plastered on her face, Mo Rabbit started mingling covertly among the students.

Of course, her infiltration wasn’t flawless.

Cue the suspicious whispers, and rumors flew up to higher-ups.

With so many Ability Users around, a few overachievers were expected.

Everywhere you looked, someone had surprising skills.

Meanwhile, higher-ups mused about the breach.

“An outsider snuck in? Quite impressive.”

“After the Mist Hidden Disaster ended, tranquility reigned. Who’d have thought we’d see this?”

“So, what could this mouse want here? Since he made it this far, he must be capable. Friend or foe?”

“Whatever it is, we need to track him down. Regardless, ignoring this could turn ugly real fast.”

A quick discussion ensued. Secret orders were given. Specific personnel were tasked to hunt down the intruder in hiding.

Chances were high they’d catch him.
