Chapter 9: Zero-Style Nightfall
Mo Rabbit was imagining the immense power of an S+ level Ability User in her mind.
But without seeing it, it was impossible to imagine. She could only temporarily place it on the same level as the Wish Machine.
No matter what, staying alert wouldn’t hurt.
Mo Rabbit continued to browse through the files.
She wasn’t too interested in the other students at Flying Wing Academy; they were barely glanced over at most.
The part that truly caught her attention was still this Zero-Style Nightfall organization.
It was said that it wasn’t entirely under the Guardians’ control, but rather an outside force working together with the Guardians against the Mist Hidden Disaster.
And there were only six members in the Zero-Style Nightfall, all of them S-level Ability Users.
One even reached the S+ level.
Six of the strongest Ability Users together? It was almost like a heavenly lineup.
This could very well be a hero squad responsible for taking down a big bad villain.
This was just absurd.
In another sense, it’s like bringing together six extraordinary individuals all at once.
It could probably humiliate any group of members from the theater troupe without an Audience Performer.
One among them might even be a full-force S+ level Ability User.
Even adding the Audience Performer to the Rising Sun Theater Group wouldn’t make it a sure thing.
Although, they still had a chance if they faced them head-on.
Of course, with some communication, they could avoid being outright hostile.
Mo Rabbit didn’t count on Night Star Lan to handle the talks—it would be better if she did it herself.
But the problem was that the Flying Wing Academy’s documents didn’t contain any information about the Zero-Style Nightfall members, not even their names. It seemed they’d have to stop here.
Mo Rabbit put aside the files and prepared to seek out more important information through divination.
In her search for the Theater Group Leader, Zero-Style Nightfall was undoubtedly the most unpredictable element.
The current Theater Group Leader holding Kuro could k*ll off most Ability Users in a flash.
Even if the leader caused some trouble, no one would dare challenge them.
But if those six S-level Ability Users showed up, things could be different.
A moment later, Mo Rabbit finished her divination and fell into thought.
“Is the easiest way to find someone who knows something and question them?”
She remembered who that person was from the files she reviewed.
That person was a high-ranking individual at the academy called “Commander.”
Her intuition told her this Commander knew plenty of information, much more than her divinations ever could.
But there was still a problem…
It was fine for her to invade confidential areas without reason.
Still, if she took hostages, wouldn’t she be going too far?
Although the Rising Sun Theater Group backed her, there were still forces stronger than its members in this world.
To sum up, it would be better to try keeping things friendly.
Though, maintaining some mystery couldn’t hurt.
If she revealed everything about herself, she’d have no leverage in any negotiations.
Mo Rabbit was a very steady and reliable adult.
“Hehe~ Well, I’m stopping the investigation here. Next up, let’s have some fun within this academy! This is also a minor goal of mine.”
Mo Rabbit smiled happily.
When entering an unknown world, naturally one should play to their heart’s content!
Work could wait.
If Audience Performers could openly take a break, why couldn’t the Announcer do the same?
As long as it didn’t affect the work.
—
Outside.
The student council received a notice from the academy’s high command.
The unknown intruder was currently hiding somewhere within the academy.
Finding them was the priority.
However, the intruder’s hiding skills were extremely advanced.
Neither the student council nor high-ranking officials knew where they were hiding.
“Commander has informed us that the intruder’s identity is mysterious, likely involving entities from outside our world. They’re probably similar to the Mist Hidden Beast from long ago. Everyone needs to stay vigilant.”
“The existence from another world?”
“Yes. The intruder has powers outside our current ability system, whether these come from a new source or are foreign. These matter because anything new in our world requires focus.”
For example, the appearance of Abilities coincided with the arrival of the Mist Hidden Disasters.
The birth of a whole new ability system might come with unimaginable disasters.
This was a rough conclusion drawn by scholars studying Abilities.
After learning the intruder had unknown powers, many raised their guard.
Not just the academy staff.
Even higher-ups in the Guardian Organization knew about this.
Now, relevant Ability Users from the Guardian Organization were sent back to the academy.
If the intruder didn’t flee, they would definitely be captured.
In the meantime:
Prowling around the academy, Mo Rabbit paused and began her divination.
“Tsk, can’t you give me more time? Why so eager?”
From her divination, Mo Rabbit learned targeted Ability Users were returning.
Including those with precognitive and spatial abilities.
If Mo Rabbit hid in the cave, she would eventually be found and stopped.
No more dilly-dallying.
“Sigh…”
Mo Rabbit sighed and started heading towards someone.
On the other side:
Commander in the office received the latest update.
“Could the intruder be at the archive room? Many files show signs of tampering? What could be important there if she’s wasting time sifting through these files?”
Everyone does something for their own reasons.
Could the intruder’s sneaky entry into Flying Wing Academy really be just to look through some files of little use?
While these files are secrets to ordinary people and can pass the time, they’re not that significant.
Commander pulled up a photo of the intruder again and pondered quietly.
“Black hair… Petite… Girl… Reminds me of the Loli Sky. If she had longer hair, it would be uncanny.”
Commander’s lips curved slightly, as if recalling something.
—
A voice filled with confusion suddenly rang out.
“Who is Loli Sky?”
“d*mn!”
Commander immediately became alert, then quickly stood up and turned around, seeing a diminutive figure standing behind with an almost invisible smile, looking quite mysterious.
Although the girl was adorable, Commander didn’t feel like appreciating it.
“Who are you? Intruder?”
“What do you think? Can you tell what you can see from my back? I’m curious.”
Tension gripped Commander’s body as she kept a wary eye on the black-haired girl before her.
Mo Rabbit beamed.
“In the first place, I mean no harm and wish to avoid conflict. If friendly talks are possible, I would be very happy.”
“Owner of the River Map and Luo Book?”
At the mention, Mo Rabbit nodded thoughtfully.
“So that’s it. Your Ability can see through power from different systems. That’s pretty impressive.”
