### Chapter 10: Both Sides Negotiate
Mo Rabbit was amazed by the Commander’s ability to see through Star’s name. She decided to probe deeper.
“Anything else?”
“Why should I tell you?”
The Commander wasn’t an idiot.
It was foolish to share all information with invaders whose intentions were unclear.
Even if he didn’t notice anything else, he definitely wouldn’t spill the beans.
This way, he could maintain an advantage in the conversation.
Right now, the invaders had no idea why they appeared in front of him.
His main objective was to extract more information from her while stalling for time until reinforcements arrived.
That’s when communication skills shine.
Mo Rabbit pondered for a moment.
The bespectacled young man in front of her didn’t seem stupid; he seemed like someone who liked to think things through.
Getting useful information out of him seemed difficult.
“Forget it. Why make things hard for smart people? Honestly, I don’t want to waste time with you. How about being honest? Even if I’m here with good intentions.”
“Your ‘good intentions’ include sneaking around?”
“I apologize, it’s just a habit.”
“How many secret places have you snuck into to develop such a habit?”
The Commander was speechless.
“Hehe, don’t mind those details. See me as adorable, can you let down your guard just a bit? Don’t take me as a strong guy.”
While making a cute face was extremely shameful for a strong guy,
Mo Rabbit was far from being one.
She was just a jester wrapped in cuteness.
Since nobody knew her true identity in this world, why not start a new persona?
Certainly, it’d bring some amusement.
No denying,
sometimes cuteness could be more useful than impressive speaking skills.
Yet, the Commander kept a cool demeanor throughout, untouched by her words or actions.
Joke’s on you.
This girl and that particular Loli Sky couldn’t be farther from comparable.
Let her conjure up her “Holy Scripture” if she can.
“I’m sorry, though I like little girls, I’m discerning. If you want to communicate, show me respect.”
“Being so honest about such a niche taste, you’re kind of impressive.”
Mo Rabbit gave a bored expression.
She didn’t want to completely sour their relationship.
Before the bond got too cold, it’s best to get straight to the point.
Mo Rabbit sat up straight, her every move exuding elegance, like a well-mannered young lady.
“Pleased to meet you. You can call me the Announcer. My background might sound exaggerated, but judge for yourself—actually, I come from another world with special purposes. Rest assured, we’re harmless. Once my goal is achieved, we’ll leave immediately.”
The Commander squinted, getting intrigued quickly.
As expected.
This girl did indeed come from another world.
Whether from the Spirit Vision hint or her own introduction, it pointed to that conclusion.
Though she claimed no ill intent, how could he trust her?
The Commander wasn’t easily fooled.
Moreover, from her earlier words, it sounded like she wasn’t the only one from another world.
Was she part of a group from another dimension?
“So, what’s your purpose?”
“Meh… It’s okay to tell you. Hmm, let’s say we’re bringing someone back. There’s a dangerous guy in our world who came to yours. We need to catch him. At least we won’t cause any harm.”
The Commander reflected.
Based on the Announcer’s statement, their goal didn’t seem to affect the order of this world. It was, at most, “domestic affairs.”
But domestic issues being handled by outsiders seemed absurd.
Of course, the Commander couldn’t entirely believe the Announcer. He didn’t have the ability to detect lies, so he stayed vigilant.
Without knowing their stance, it would be unwise to draw conclusions.
“How dangerous is the person you’re after?”
Mo Rabbit knew the Commander wanted more information, and she was fine with sharing a bit.
“The danger… I recently reviewed your historical events. There was apparently a once-in-a-lifetime Mist Hidden Disaster a few years back. The person we’re after might match the scale of that disaster. If left unchecked, it could be more terrifying. Believe it or not, you decide.”
The Commander’s pupils widened, and his mouth twitched.
“You let such a dangerous individual run around freely?”
“Ah, we’re taking care of it.”
“Can you handle something that dangerous?”
The Commander wasn’t underestimating outsiders.
Don’t forget, that massive Mist Hidden Disaster required all Guardians and reinforcements like Zero-Style Nightfall to quell it, resulting in countless casualties.
If the Announcer was right, and this otherworldly danger matched that disaster, it wasn’t a joke.
It could destabilize the whole situation again.
It might even lead to another bloody battle.
Just thinking about this gave the Commander a headache.
It’d have that retired Loli Sky cursing and working overtime.
Mo Rabbit narrowed her eyes.
“Don’t underestimate our strength. Apparently, there’s an S+ Ranked Ability User here. I don’t know how strong, but we have someone of similar strength. They can at least match S+, plus a few S-Ranked individuals. So, there’s nothing much to worry about.”
The Commander was slightly surprised.
“Quite powerful?”
“Incredibly powerful. Thought you’d be surprised, huh?”
“Hope it’s all true.”
“heehee, I’m telling the truth. Otherwise, why would I come to see you? I didn’t come here to cause trouble, just for some friendly exchanges.”
Of course, if possible, Mo Rabbit would rather find some fun in the academy herself.
Playing hide-and-seek with these Ability Users, comparing their abilities to Star Holders.
Unfortunately, the other side sent targeted Ability Users, rendering her plans useless.
So, it was time to speed up and leave.
The Commander pondered.
“If you came with good intentions, please cooperate. If we verify your claims, we might be able to help you achieve your goal.”
Mo Rabbit caught the implications.
“Let me stay? Sorry, I don’t like being a burden. With today’s purpose fulfilled, until next time.”
In the blink of an eye before the Commander could respond, Mo Rabbit vanished.
