Chapter 14: Neighborhood Bullies
While Night Sky was pondering whether to pay a visit to the little loli found by Kaguya, two more teenage girls came up.
These were Chenxi, a short-haired girl with gray hair who had an S-class Medium-Type ability called “The Sword God’s Mind,” and Yuxi, a girl with red and blue heterochromia eyes, who had an S-class Mysterious-Type ability called “The Abyss.”
Chenxi looked very calm, probably not good at expressing her emotions. Or maybe she just had an everlasting calmness inside. As the best swordsman in the group called “Zero-Style Nightfall,” except for practicing, nothing else seemed to interest her.
“Is the new S-level ability user a swordsman? If so, I might be interested.”
Kaguya recalled the light of souls she saw before, which certainly didn’t resemble someone interested in swords.
“I don’t think that’s the case, perhaps it’s even more amazing.”
To Kaguya, Chenxi’s soul light was like a concealed sword, watching too long would hurt your soul.
If it was about “swords” abilities, most would give off this kind of feeling.
“Nah, nevermind.”
Chenxi wasn’t some major loli fan like Night Sky was.
Although she did often pester Night Sky, and the reason was simply because of her obsession with dueling.
With the threat from the “Mist Hidden Disaster” being long gone, the only person left for Chenxi to face with a sword was the “useless homebody loli” around her.
Of course, they were more for practice than anything serious. If things got really serious, that beach would be toast.
Yuxi, on the other hand, wore a cheeky expression on her face as she spoke.
“So, why not invite them over to the villa? It wouldn’t be bad to get acquainted, right? What do you say, Night Sky?”
“Oh, we’ve thought about it, but will they actually come over? Just inviting them suddenly makes us sound suspicious, they might run away…”
Night Sky previously was also a shut-in with severe social anxiety. If she could stay home, she would never go out, and if she could, she definitely wouldn’t hang out in groups.
Only after going through a series of events did her social issues begin to improve.
If anyone had seen all these pretty teens approaching her, Night Sky would have assumed they were there to “kidnap” her, rather than thinking it was springtime.
Certainly, she wasn’t getting any bigheaded ideas here.
Night Sky saw with Kaguya’s soul-perception the silver-haired girl on the beach. She was indeed very cute, almost pity-inducing.
Even though there was a peculiar ghost hovering around her, Night Sky could tell she really wanted her space.
Like who hadn’t wanted their own personal bubble at some point?
“To invite someone for a visit, you need a normal reason first, she doesn’t seem to be one of those easy-going people you can just walk up to randomly.”
After some contemplation, Nene smacked her palms together.
“I got it! ‘Stupid’, design a comic-style meeting, like colliding with them around a corner!”
“Huh? What corner?”
The endless beach certainly didn’t have any corners.
Just walk past and you’d be noticed soon enough.
Nene shrugged her shoulders.
“You can also step on their shoes on accident and pretend you didn’t see them. That’s the start of an acquaintance, isn’t it?”
“You’re evil!”
Night Sky had no idea how to comment on Nene’s crazy ideas.
Absolutely ridiculous.
At least directly chatting would be more practical.

The playful Night Star, teasing Eypar’s hair, felt something.
“Mmh… Just now… Did someone spy on me?”
Ignoring her superhuman senses, Night Star, with her “Existence Interference” ability, was incredibly sensitive to other people’s gazes. The moment someone noticed her, she immediately became overly cautious.
Just then, she sensed a strong mental energy sweep across, followed by an unfamiliar gaze that left her uncomfortable.
“Could it be that world’s ability user…?”
That quick, sweeping sensation had to be similar to “Existence Interference.”
By reducing her presence, Night Star avoided being noticed by regular folks, but powerful ability users still had her worried.
“Hopefully, just a curious glance…”
Now that she was discovered, the desire to flee filled Night Star’s mind.
She left the area quickly to avoid trouble.
Before leaving, Night Sky was curious about whoever released that immense spiritual energy.
Surely, they were much stronger than A-level, perhaps a top-ranking player.
Night Star deployed her “Existence Interference” ability, scanning the surroundings, including the nearby private beach zone.
“Eureka!”
She pinpointed several unique presences, right around that private beach area. Likely, the owners of that luxurious seaside villa.
Night Star took note, imprinting the scene in her mind.

Back to the group.
Thinking about how to approach the silver-haired loli.
When suddenly, something powerful swept past them, just like with Kaguya’s soul-perceiving technique.
Kaguya’s lips curled into a mischievous smile.
“Oh, someone with powers similar to mine? Must have caught my glimpse and decided to retaliate?”
Undoubtedly, they were extremely cautious.
Thoughtfully, Night Sky considered this.
“If we’re found out, should we abandon our normal plan?”
Nene suggested,
“Maybe we should tie them up and take them away? We’ll explain later.”
“Big criminals? I’m not getting involved with your shenanigans.”
Night Sky made a sarcastic remark and spread her arms, as if grabbing for something.
The next second,
Two long swords appeared in her hands.
These were “Night Listener” and “Sky Whisperer”, names given by Night Sky to her weapons, the manifestation of her maximum ability use.
Inside lay twin soul weapons, possessing multiple enchantments, easily slicing through space to any location.
Night Sky wanted to show off her power on that beach to check things out.
As usual, Kaguya’s “soul suggestion” would handle any onlookers.
This hypnotic ability was incredibly handy.
But, just as Night Star observed them with her “Existence Interference,” her facial expression shifted slightly.
“cr*p! They’ve spotted me! The neighborhood bullies and now they’ve drawn their swords! This is turning into a confrontation!”
Night Star didn’t even notice their appearances; their aura was so strong, vastly outshining ordinary people.
Her perception offered hazy images at best.
Regardless, running away was the sensible choice for a coward like Night Star.
