Chapter 22: No Problem
Night Star and Night Sky were chatting away like old pals who had just found each other, completely thrilled.
Kaguya and the others were staring in their direction like they were watching a reality show unfold.
“Looks like Night Sky made a new loli friend—she’s probably over the moon about it,” Kaguya snickered.
Mo Rabbit chuckled softly as well.
“The Audience Performer is probably just as delighted; she loves hanging out with cute girls and seems to hit it off with Miss Night Sky really well.”
Kaguya turned to Mo Rabbit. “They’re in their own little world over there, not really interested in what we’re talking about. Let’s get back to our previous discussion.”
“Absolutely.”
Kaguya poured herself and Mo Rabbit another cup of tea.
“I understand your purpose today; you’re looking for the strongest among us in this world. Just a heads up, I won’t interfere with your plans, so no worries there. As long as you don’t stir up too much trouble or mess with our daily lives, I’m too lazy to get involved.”
Kaguya cast a glance at Night Sky, who was not far away.
“Night Sky is sort of our group leader, but she’s pretty lazy and loves slacking off. Ever since we nipped the source of the disaster in the bud, she rarely feels like doing anything serious. If something big happens elsewhere, I doubt she’ll even bat an eye; she’ll just leave it to the local Guardians to handle. You should be concerned about the Guardians. Only if they give you the green light will you avoid hurdles along the way.”
Mo Rabbit kept a smile on her face.
“I’ve considered that; I recently used a special method to inform the Guardians on that side. But whether they’ll cooperate is the big question.”
“Oh? After learning about you, they won’t try to capture you?”
“Not a chance; they couldn’t catch me, so I just ran after I mentioned it.”
“I can imagine what your ‘special method’ might be.”
Kaguya was slightly speechless.
This Announcer really had some guts.
Surely she wasn’t trying to provoke the Guardians, right?
But that wasn’t Kaguya’s concern.
In a way, Zero-Style Nightfall wasn’t under the jurisdiction of the Guardians, and they didn’t exactly have a superior-subordinate relationship.
Once Mist Hidden Disaster was completely resolved, the two were almost entirely severed.
The only tie that remained was probably the friendship Night Sky built with the Guardians.
She had quite a few Guardian friends hanging around in the void.
If the Guardian organization sought help from Zero-Style Nightfall, Night Sky would probably show up to pitch in, but once the work was done, she’d come back and collapse like a rag doll.
Of course, now that Night Sky and the others knew about this in advance, they promised not to intrude on Night Star and the gang’s actions.
Once the Guardians came looking for help, Night Sky would probably come up with a pile of excuses to dodge them.
Just slacking off would be good enough.
Kaguya gave a gentle reminder.
“Given that, you should prepare for interruptions from the Guardians. Now that Mist Hidden Disaster is fully resolved, their attention will be on any abnormal happenings. If they discover you, beings from another world who are potentially unstable, they won’t just let things slide.”
Currently, the Guardians were mostly dealing with mundane little issues—certainly a far cry from the intense battles back in the day.
While they were glad that disasters had vanished, if any new threats emerged, they wouldn’t be scared off so easily.
After all, it had only been a few years; the warriors still had bl**d on their hands.
Mo Rabbit didn’t seem too worried.
“Rest assured, aside from you lot, we aren’t too bothered by other distractions.”
“Confident in your abilities, are we? Well, with your Audience Performer around, I guess the Guardians’ interference won’t be much of a problem.”
The exchange of information came to an end.
Mo Rabbit didn’t plan on sticking around much longer.
She had no intentions of making friends here or forming deep connections.
Since Night Star was willing to stay, so be it.
After all, during this time when the theater group was searching for their Group Leader, Night Star Lan would mostly be holed up in the theater.
It did serve a purpose, and that was to develop friendships with Night Sky and the others.
Zero-Style Nightfall was, after all, the highest combat power in this world. Building a good rapport with them could only be beneficial, right? As long as she won their favor, wouldn’t she just stroll through this world?
With that thought, Mo Rabbit stood up, bowed, and said goodbye.
“Well then, I’ll take my leave for now. I have something important to attend to. Let’s chat more next time we meet!”
“Bye-bye~”
As Kaguya and the others waved, Mo Rabbit opened the theater door and left.
Night Sky and Night Star noticed her departure.
The former was curious about the theater door.
“Hey~ I have this feeling that the spatial power that Announcer used is the same as the one you used to escape earlier. What’s up with that?”
“Hmm, technically, that power belongs to her. That door leads to an independent space—like a paradise of sorts. It’s also our organization’s secret base.”
“Creating space, huh? We have a friend who can do that too…”
The Mist Hidden Beasts that appeared back then weren’t all enemies.
Many Mist Hidden Beasts were once wise beings, similar to various animals on Earth, only turned into mindless monsters due to the corruption of mist power.
Of course, some Mist Hidden Beasts maintained their sanity despite the mist’s influence.
They were generally classified as S-rank Mist Hidden Beasts, the highest level of disaster incarnate.
Night Sky had taken down several S-rank Mist Hidden Beasts before, and it wasn’t easy.
Putting that aside…
Among the S-rank Mist Hidden Beasts, there were good and bad ones. The bad ones mostly got wiped out in the past battles.
The good ones had their conditions improved after the source of the mist was eliminated; they reverted back to normal forms.
Back then, Night Sky had made friends with a few friendly Mist Hidden Beasts, some of whom could transform into lolis.
One of them, named “Crack,” specialized in spatial abilities and usually lived in a space rift she created herself.
But that didn’t matter right now.
Night Sky was now very curious about the secret base Night Star had mentioned.
“Can you take us to see your secret base? By the way, what’s the name of your organization? You still haven’t told us that.”
“Ah, well… our organization is called the Rising Sun Theater Group. The secret base is the Rising Sun Theater, which pretty much looks like a theater inside. To enter, you’d need the approval of a theater group member. If you can become one of our audience members, I could sneak you in.”
“Rising Sun Theater Group? Sounds like a group that really knows how to put on a show…”
Night Sky sounded slightly skeptical.
Night Star had mentioned they were after a dangerous character who was part of the organization—someone quite likely to cause chaos in the world.
That didn’t strike her as someone from an ordinary performance group.
And that secret base was in an independent space they’d opened up.
Could the Rising Sun Theater Group really just be another theater group?
Something felt off about it.
“May I ask what exactly your organization usually does?”
“Well, we pretty much perform all around the world. Is there a problem with that?”
“Ah, no… No problem.”
