Chapter 2: A Huge Difficulty
Night Star Lan stood atop a skyscraper in a future world, lost deep in thought.
She had asked Luo Xi to bring her here after waking up.
Although she really wanted to keep “sticking” with Luo Xi, the urgent situation with Kuro needed immediate attention. How to handle this issue was still a mystery.
Based on what Luo Xi said, Kuro has now fully awakened and is controlling the Body of the Theatre Director, looking incredibly strong.
Kuro, once awake, would definitely be stronger than Luo Xi. Luo Xi is currently weakened because of a curse, but Kuro never suffered from this problem. Sleeping in his strongest form and then awakening in that same form means he could easily crush the weakened Luo Xi.
Fortunately, Night Sky cut off Kuro’s concept of space-time; otherwise, if he decided to cause trouble for Luo Xi, it would create quite a mess.
“Stronger than Luo Xi… If Luo Xi can overpower me now, Kuro must be able to flatten me at will,” Night Star Lan grumbled with frustration.
As an S-Rank spiritualist, she is invincible among humans, but not so much in the Origin of the Stars.
This is just a half body of the Origin, which gives her a headache.
Thinking about how unfair this is, she felt a bit annoyed.
Kuro is so strong without any limitations, while Night Star Lan has to take major risks to break her limits.

Thankfully, Luo Xi mentioned that Kuro is not evil, just a bit odd. But where the oddness lies remains unknown. She hopes the conversation goes well.
Night Star Lan prefers to solve things peacefully, but the question remains:
Is it safe to find Kuro?
Will he remember past events, like hanging him as a lighting fixture in the theatre?
Would Kuro be offended? This act is a big insult against the Origin of Star Eclipses.
If he’s sensitive about this, the game might be over before it even begins.
Night Star Lan sat on the rooftop, drawing circles, not wanting to seek out the Theatre Group members in this timeline.
Knowing that Kuro, as the Origin of Star Eclipses, naturally suppresses the Star Eclipses Embodiment, it’s risky.
Even if she convinced the group members to help, they’d instantly turn on her, ending up as her enemies.
Night Star Lan couldn’t bear such a melodramatic outcome.
Just imagining this made her uncomfortable.
So, she was left alone with Kuro.
How helpless!
“Why do I have to face this cruel reality? Kuro, just explode already…”
Night Star Lan was eager to give up.
Yet, the harsh truth didn’t allow it. There was still a pile of problems she needed to address.
And none of these problems could be solved by wishes.
Otherwise, she would have wished and returned to Luo Xi to continue cuddling.
Though another person might help her. Not Luo Xi, though.
It was Night Sky from the previous world.
Since she could permanently sever Kuro’s connection with time, she must also be capable of other incredible feats.
That surpasses what Night Star Lan can do.
But Night Star Lan felt too bad asking Night Sky for help again.
People owed too much already.
Night Star Lan understood this.
“Phew…”
The two little girls took deep breaths to calm down.
Time to confront Kuro. Avoiding it won’t solve the problem; facing it directly.
She contacted Luo Xi through the contract.
“Luo Xi, I’m in the future. Where’s Kuro?”
“He’s watching you.”
“What?!”
“Kuro’s power is similar to mine. He can do nearly anything. It’s no challenge for him to notice your arrival.”
Hearing this, Night Star Lan shuddered and felt paranoid.
Perhaps Kuro is indeed watching her right now, yet she sensed nothing.

“Seriously? Is he really watching me? What kind of freaky hobby is this?”
Night Star Lan murmured sarcastically.
She was frustrated. She had originally planned to take a break, get ready mentally, and not worry so much about it.
But now, Kuro detected her presence immediately when she arrived in this world.
Replacing herself should have been undetected, after all.
Could it be that Kuro constantly watches her from this time-space, noticing when she acts weirdly?

He needs to be stopped!
Though that seemed unlikely.
Night Star Lan rose quickly, mustering courage to shout, “Kuro, come out fast! I know you’re watching!”
Her shout worked.
A black feather fell onto the roof nearby. With its explosion, numerous black feathers descended, revealing the familiar figure of the Theatre Director in his magician outfit.
Perfect. True to the director’s style.
This director was different now.
She could bet this was Kuro.
“Kuro…”
Kuro greeted Night Star Lan politely.
“Hello! Esteemed audience member! Nice to see you, or rather, we probably met before. I was asleep then, a bit awkward. Let’s call this our true first meeting. Hopefully, you’ll feel my enthusiasm!”
“Hmm… Can you use your original form? Talking via the Director’s body is creepy.”
“No dice. This body is great. I need to borrow it. As payment for using my power.”
“Tsk…”
Night Star Lan was disappointed.
Seems like separating the Director from Kuro temporarily was impossible.
Moreover, luring him with wishes wouldn’t work.
Kuro might know everything about her, including the Wish Machine.
So the situation got trickier.
Still, whatever the difficulty, it’s challenging for Night Star Lan.
“So, how do you plan to leave the Director’s body?”
“Not at all. I borrowed the body. One day, it will be returned. I have no interest in forcing control.”
“How long will you need the body?”
“I can’t say. If I feel inclined, maybe soon, even though I always feel good.”

Night Star Lan saw clearly.
Though Kuro seemed harmless, he was difficult to deal with.
At least for her.
While she might not face any immediate danger, persuading Kuro to return the Director’s body voluntarily seemed unlikely.
