Chapter 5: Let’s Get This Show on the Road
Even though Night Star Lan really wanted to play with the purple-haired loli beside her, she managed to hold back.
The dignity of a king was extremely important to Loti Shana.
Casually playing around was one thing, but if Night Star Lan did anything to damage her dignity in front of others, it would be a devastating blow to Loti Shana’s obsession.
If that happened, she might not be able to maintain her queenly persona in front of the other first-generation Star Eclipses, and that would make her feel inferior, which was unacceptable to the kings and queens.
Night Star Lan was very careful not to overstep her boundaries in front of the other first-gens.
“I know my limits.”
Hearing this, Loti Shana finally relaxed and resumed her imposing demeanor, not flinching at all as Night Star Lan approached.
Now it was Night Star Lan’s turn to be speechless.
Talk about giving sunlight and suddenly turning brilliant?
She was going to get her back later!
Night Star Lan took a deep breath.
“Loti Shana, how about we chat?”
“Hmph! Watch your tone, peasant. I’m the great king you should be respecting, so you should call me ‘Great King Loti Shana’.”
“What?”
Night Star Lan was bewildered.
Did she think she could get away with this?
Despite saying she wouldn’t do anything to damage her dignity in front of others, this didn’t justify her getting a big head.
Don’t the other first-generation Star Eclipses realize that the so-called “Creator” generation of Star Eclipses is mostly just an empty shell with their powers stripped away?
Loti Shana had clearly taken a serious beating from Night Star Lan, worse than any of the other first-gens.
Everyone knew this.
Yet here she was, getting swelled-headed.
That was absolutely intolerable!
Night Star Lan muttered under her breath.
“If you keep acting out, I’ll teach you a lesson when we’re back.”
“Gulp…”
Loti Shana froze up and melted again.
This was just too much!
They’d been tormenting her for ages now.
Why couldn’t she have that moment of dignity?
“Hmph… What should we chat about?”
“When will this gathering end?”
“The end of the party is up to Lord Kuro.”
“Well, when do you think Lord Kuro will end it?”
“You should ask Lord Kuro yourself. With his enthusiasm, he’ll definitely be happy to answer.”
A corner of Night Star Lan’s mouth twitched as she recalled the last time.
If she went to ask Kuro, he’d probably say something like “We’ll wrap up once everyone’s enjoying themselves. As for when exactly, depends on the mood.”
What a mess.
Night Star Lan really didn’t want to stay in this room with these characters for long.
Without the Wish Princess and Loti Shana around, she’d have tried to leave within ten minutes.
But actually…
She was already plotting ways to escape.
Screw this whole setup!
Just as Night Star Lan was scheming, Kuro walked over and sat beside her.
“Night Star Lan, you don’t seem very excited. Don’t you like parties?”
Night Star Lan hugged the Wish Princess next to her.
“Um… Not exactly, but the vibe here feels off. It’d be better if there were more people I’m close with…”
“That’s your opinion? Well then, I’ll let more people join the party. Bring all your friends, and it’ll be much livelier.”
“Erm… Maybe not.”
Night Star Lan politely declined.
Are you kidding?
Who in their right mind would come to a party with five first-generation Star Eclipses and a Star Origin?
At most, the remaining three first-gens and Luo Xi might be allowed.
Except that the three aren’t Star Eclipses, nor are they Kuro’s top picks.
And Luo Xi is from another dimension entirely, and can’t meet Kuro.
Ultimately, Night Star Lan is the only suitable participant.
Kuro isn’t forcing the issue.
“Fun is essential for a party. Without fun, it loses its uniqueness. Do you find this gathering enjoyable?”
“Nope.”
Night Star Lan responded without hesitation.
Kuro chuckled.
“Oh yeah, that’s how it’s always been. The relationships between the first-gens weren’t great to begin with. Even if you brought them together, no lively atmosphere would emerge. I wanted to spark passion, but Bai blocked everything.”
This piqued Night Star Lan’s interest.
Luo Xi’s story was intriguing.
She knew nothing about Luo Xi’s past, but if she could find out, it’d be amazing.
Not long ago, Night Star Lan had asked Luo Xi to share her story.
But got a rather vague response with no real substance.
Maybe Kuro could offer some insights?
Seeing Night Star Lan’s curiosity, Kuro smiled.
“I can tell you everything. My creation, how stars were made, meeting all the first-gens, the truth behind the curse—everything.”
It was undeniably appealing.
But she couldn’t shake the feeling something was off. She remained wary.
“All of this?”
“Of course! I’ll satisfy all your curiosities. This is my way of treating friends warmly.”
Standing up, Kuro pointed to his head.
“So, are you interested in personally witnessing history?”
“Can you send me back in time?”
“Not quite. My abilities over time are gone. But I can still show you the process. You can experience it firsthand.”
It was tantalizing.
Could it really be that simple?
“Isn’t there some ulterior motive?”
“Of course not! I treat friends genuinely. I’ll fulfill your needs, ensuring no regrets. And you, Night Star Lan, I consider you a friend. Of course, I’ll fulfill your curiosity.”
“Uh…”
Night Star Lan pondered.
To trust or not to trust Kuro?
If he could help her relive the entire sequence of events, maybe she could unravel the curse of Kuro and Bai.
Moreover, perhaps she could solve the Wish Princess’ boundary-breaking issue.
Otherwise, constantly risking it all for a shot at becoming the omnipotent Wish Princess was too stressful.
Personal experience could offer clarity.
This was beyond the current Wish Princess’s capabilities due to the intricate secrets surrounding the Star Origin.
Night Star Lan silently invoked the contract to ask Luo Xi in another dimension.
“Luo Xi, do you think Kuro’s words are believable?”
“You can decide.”
Which meant—
No traps?
Let’s go for it!
