Chapter 6: Where’s the Newbie Tutorial?
Night Star Lan ultimately decided to trust Kuro and delve into the truth.
Since she wasn’t doing anything else, it felt like playing some sort of strategy game.
The only way to advance the plot was by selecting certain options; everything else led to a miserable ending.
Right now, Night Star Lan didn’t have the power to take charge; she could only pick from the options given to her.
And Kuro’s choices weren’t bad—they were right up her alley.
Way better than attending that bizarre Star Eclipse gathering.
“Let’s get started then.”
“Fantastic! I can feel your excitement! Next, I will respond with passion, and I hope you enjoy this journey and feel my fiery emotions!”
“Stop with the weird talk! How do you plan to let me see it for real? Watch it on TV?”
Night Star Lan was a bit confused.
With Kuro having lost the power of time and space, there was no way she could possibly send her back to the starting point.
And Luo Xi had previously presented her memories through dynamic visuals.
Could it be that Kuro was going to use a similar method?
Kuro chuckled softly.
“Watch TV? That’s hardly what I call witnessing it firsthand, nor does it express my enthusiasm! Let me put it this way: I’ll create a virtual game from the memories in my mind. You can drop into the game and play a character, following the storyline—essentially, following the main quest. Along the way, you’ll uncover one important secret after another! How does that sound? Isn’t it perfectly in tune with this era’s setting? I can easily do that!”
“Hmm… sounds pretty tempting.”
Night Star Lan began to feel excited.
According to Kuro, this method was indeed quite interesting; even without traversing time and space, she could witness the entirety of the story.
With Kuro’s abilities, they had to be better than a lot of game developers out there. Just how immersive could this memory-based game be? One could only imagine.
“Let’s get this show on the road! I’m all set!”
“Your trust makes me happy! Let’s begin! I hope you’ll find satisfaction in this journey and that everything goes smoothly for you.”
Kuro’s lips curled into a sly smile as she pressed a finger to Night Star’s forehead. A brilliant light instantly illuminated the entire room, and all sounds went silent.
Night Star Lan felt a void in her mind, plunging into a dark abyss.

The next second.
Lying on the ground, Night Star Lan suddenly opened her eyes, gasping for breath, her heart racing faster than usual.
“Holy moly… that was terrifying…”
Who knew logging into this game would be so exhilarating? It felt like she had genuinely fallen into a dark abyss—hyper-realistic levels were through the roof.
Of course, these details didn’t matter much.
Night Star Lan began looking around, realizing she was in an unfamiliar forest that felt incredibly real—just like reality.
“Whoa… this is so lifelike?!”
If she hadn’t already known that Kuro had lost the power of time and space, she might have thought that Kuro had actually sent her back to this ancient era, given how convincingly real it was.
Night Star Lan picked up a handful of dirt and rubbed it between her fingers. The texture felt nearly identical to reality—if not exactly the same, with no difference whatsoever.
Now things were getting interesting.
Kuro’s powers were definitely not to be underestimated.
Night Star Lan stood up, brushed off the dust on her clothes, and began checking her state.
“Hm… Wish Princess?”
No response from the Wish Princess.
Suddenly, Night Star Lan realized she couldn’t sense the Wish Princess’s presence anymore.
Not just the Wish Princess, but all her powers had vanished, as if she had turned back into an ordinary person.
Realizing this, Night Star Lan briefly panicked but quickly calmed down.
“Kuro said this is a game, and that I need to play a character for the main quest, not necessarily myself. If I brought along the Wish Princess and those quirky powers, it would feel like cheating…”
Night Star Lan slowly came to terms with this fact and started adapting.
To be honest, turning back into an ordinary human with no abilities felt a bit odd.
At this point, she lacked any sense of security, feeling like anyone could pop up and easily grind her into the dirt.
“Ugh… now I can’t even run if things get dicey.”
Night Star Lan mumbled in frustration, then started her own little research project.
Since Kuro mentioned she could participate like it was a game, didn’t that mean there were game functions she could access?
Like a character panel or something?
But Night Star Lan waved her fingers around aimlessly for a while, making all kinds of goofy sounds, and yet nothing happened.
She fell into a contemplation, unable to hold back her loud complaints.
“What the heck kind of game is this?! There’s barely any gameplay! Kuro, you j*rk! You just tricked me!”
But no one responded to her.
This was destined to be a game where Night Star Lan was the only participant.
Of course, being too lifelike made it impossible for Night Star Lan to play freely; it was like being transported from one reality to another—with no gaming experience whatsoever.
With a deep sigh, Night Star Lan could only accept the reality.
She wasn’t even sure if she could get hurt here. If it hurt, it would absolutely be a pain in the neck.
What if just tripping could make her cry?
Not to mention the potential of getting shoved to the ground and rubbed in the dirt.
“Hmm… looks like I need to find a backup.”
Night Star Lan began to brainstorm.
If all went well, this should be the starting point.
The Origin of the Stars was just beginning to bloom, or at least starting to interfere with human society.
The First Generation Star Holders would soon appear one after another.
So where were Kuro and Bai?
Only by finding the main players of the story could she witness the unfolding plot.
Being a side character gave her no right to know the truth.
But right now, Night Star Lan was just an ordinary person.
Even if she found Kuro and Bai, so what?
Could an ordinary person really contact such entities?
Night Star Lan fell into a spiral of self-doubt.
“Ugh… whatever, I’ll just get moving and see what happens.”
Two little lolis quickly shrugged off the chaotic thoughts in their minds and started taking action.
An empty forest was clearly not a newbie village.
She needed to go to a nearby human settlement.
Kuro and Bai might be around there.
But no one knew how much time had passed.
Night Star Lan was still wandering in the woods, her mouth twitching non-stop.
“Darn it! Am I lost?!”
The thought made her a bit irked.
First, no newbie tutorial, and now, no map in this massive world.
This was no game world that Kuro tossed her into!
It felt more like being dropped into the wilderness for survival training!
Night Star Lan seriously suspected that this was Kuro’s way of getting back at her.
Maybe Kuro was still holding a grudge over being strung up as a light fixture in the theater.
All that talk about having an open mind? Totally lying!
“Darn Kuro! I’ll remember this grudge!”
If she ever got the chance, Kuro wouldn’t have it easy!
