Chapter 39: Let’s Get This Over With
Loti Shana lay in bed with a complex mix of emotions, her body tense and mind racing. Her imagination had conjured up plenty of terrible scenarios.
Mostly involving Night Star Lan doing very strange things to her, leaving her completely uneasy.
If she really lost her virginity on this day, Loti Shana felt there was no way out except to give everything to Night Star Lan.
After all, what did she have now that wasn’t essentially given by White? It wouldn’t be too hard to accept returning it back…
Loti Shana sneakily peeked over at Night Star Lan and White.
They still didn’t seem sleepy.
In Night and Night Lan’s eyes, White, who was engrossed in reading a book, was the epitome of adoration. Despite all the affection, the two Lolis glued to White didn’t seem to bother them much. They just let them be and read quietly, occasionally softly responding to Night Star Lan’s words.
Loti Shana watched the scene, feeling that she was becoming increasingly familiar with White. The gap between gods and humans seemed long—but that was before.
Under Night Star Lan’s influence, as a human Loti Shana was getting closer to understanding something about divinity. She wasn’t entirely clueless anymore.
“Do you like reading books, White?”
Loti Shana herself had read many books under royal education—though she didn’t particularly enjoy it. However, sometimes showing off her erudition could add some majesty.
Now knowing White had an inclination for reading, she suddenly desired to present him all the palace books—a gift that might or might not delight White.
Night Lan then noticed Loti Shana’s gaze and quickly came over, letting Night stick to Luo Xi.
Lying beside her, Night Lan’s face bore a playful grin.
“Hey hey~ I saw you peeking at us earlier. You were watching when I was being cute with Luo Xi, right?”
“I-I wasn’t watching…”
Loti Shana looked away, feeling guilty and avoiding eye contact with Night Lan, not appearing dignified in the slightest.
Night Lan just laughed even more heartily.
“Huhu~ I feel relieved. Turns out you can still be stubborn. So cute!”
“Gwaaa…”
Loti Shana felt slightly mocked but couldn’t think of how to respond; nor did she have the courage.
How embarrassing.
Then, again, the voice in her ear came.
“Mmm~ you look rather fixated on Luo Xi. Even though I’m not jealous, if you don’t pay me any attention, I’ll get a bit upset occasionally.”
“And what if you get mad?”
Loti Shana asked gingerly.
A little irritation from Night Lan might make her lower her guard.

Night Lan patted her chest convincingly, making Loti feel quite credible.

With Night Lan’s assurance, Loti relaxed.
“Does White really enjoy reading books?”

“Besides me. Luo Xi only likes me.”

“So you’re the only thing White likes?”

White’s singular preference for Night Star Lan here was truly remarkable.

Loti finally gathered the nerve to ask.
Night Lan squinted playfully.
“Oh~ At first, even you didn’t dare talk to me. Who knew you’d develop a backbone so fast.”

Loti had no idea how to explain.
Her curiosity, common to all, led her to explore forbidden territory.
Like those dumb characters in horror movies who always seek their doom out of curiosity.

Night Lan disregarded Loti Shana and embraced her waist, pulling her closer, bodies touching tightly together.
The warmth radiated by their close skins made her freeze.

“Loti Shana, isn’t it nice to embrace like this? Feel your temperature rising? Your heartbeat quickens… like little deer knocking about.”
