Chapter 50: Hosting a Gathering
Progress was still continuously ramping up.
After their defeat, Hilo and Oya quickly held a post-battle brainstorming session.
They identified a lot of mistakes made during this war.
Loti Shana was also rapidly organizing her forces, planning to seize their stronghold before the other two even realized what hit them.
All she needed to do was chase those two away and claim that territory.
She didn’t plan to wipe them out completely. After all, Hilo and Oya were once nurtured by Kuro and Bai.
Considering this connection, even with her overwhelming power, Loti Shana wouldn’t go for the lethal blow.
Half a month zoomed by in a blur.
Loti Shana was gearing up for another strike, ready to bulldoze through all sneaky plots with pure war.
Hilo and Oya were also preparing to unleash their trump card, planning to team up and give Loti Shana a run for her money.
But then, a little hiccup happened that froze all three parties in place, like they collectively held their breath. The tension deflated for a moment.
Night Star Lan glanced over and suddenly found the situation amusing.
Because yet another First Generation had decided to crash their little squabble.
Enter Charlize, blissfully snoozing in the world of dreams.
While the three took a quick nap, Charlize swiftly invaded their dreams and stripped them of every last detail about themselves.
In the world of dreams, Charlize was the one true deity.
No matter how powerful Hilo, Oya, or Loti Shana were in reality, they couldn’t stir a ripple in the dream realm; they were mere puppets dancing to Charlize’s tune.
And so, all the information the three held was laid bare for Charlize, turning them from background characters into the most noteworthy threats.
As a result, when Hilo, Oya, and Loti Shana jolted awake, they stayed alert, refusing to sink back into slumber.
Loti Shana was aware of Charlize’s star abilities, but never thought he’d get involved in such matters.
“Grr! Plans foiled! That guy… didn’t he say he wasn’t interested in reality? How dare he provoke me! If I get my hands on him, he’s toast! Ugh!”
Seated in an empty room, Loti Shana fumed and sulked, her fury and frustration hidden from prying eyes, or else she’d lose her edge.
Clearly, one shouldn’t judge a person based solely on one’s own view.
Just because Charlize lost interest in reality didn’t mean he’d sit idly by.
Now he knew practically every detail about her, turning the tables dramatically.
Should Charlize team up with a few other First Generations to tackle her? Even an invincible army might not cut it.
If they were to execute an assassination plan, Loti Shana could find herself in hot water pretty quickly.
After taking such a major hit, she had learned her lesson.
“Hmph… No more sleep for me! Not like I need to rest…”
With her Extraordinary Star-level energy, her mental state had long transcended the realm of humanity; she could go a full month without sleep and not drop dead.
Meanwhile, Hilo was investigating Charlize’s current whereabouts and discovered he was nowhere near his family, suggesting he had long moved to a safe location.
“Charlize… what are you up to?”
Hilo recalled the feeling of helplessness in that dream, as if everything about him was under someone else’s control and every piece of information he thought he had was pilfered with ease.
He used to think he was the best at gathering intel; who knew there was someone even better?
Truly, there’s always someone better out there.
Hilo shrugged those thoughts off and began rethinking his new plan.
As for Oya, she was also on high alert, cautiously deducing the identity of their opponent step by step through Probability Interference, carefully avoiding any rash moves.
Thus, the battle between the three was effortlessly stirred up by Charlize.
Switching perspectives.
In the dream world.
Charlize was thoroughly enjoying the information gleaned from the three First Generations, finding it incredibly entertaining.
“Oya and Hilo plan to temporarily ally against Loti Shana, and for that, they’ve prepared a trump card capable of crushing invincible armies. Hilo even intends to shift into Star Eclipses mode and use Child and Elderly Fairness to trade climate concepts, sacrificing costs for storms and thunderstorms. Probability Interference will boost the odds of success, easily influencing climate changes, and using nature’s fury to crush human armies. Truly a display of the powers of those two esteemed individuals.”
Clearly, this method was far beyond the capabilities of ordinary humans.
Should they succeed in summoning natural disasters, those enhanced armies would crumble like wet tissue before the might of nature.
This was their special tactic to handle Loti Shana’s war-like approach.
Push too hard, and you might just get bitten.
Loti Shana was likely in for a shock if that happened.
Of course, such an event might not actually occur.
After all, inserting himself into their conflict seemed to have already spooked them.
Now all of them were on edge, unwilling to make rash moves.
With such a wealth of information, Charlize could indeed turn any battle around.
But he wasn’t going to take action himself.
Acquiring information was merely a personal pastime.
Why bother when he hadn’t invaded many First Generations’ dreams before?
Now that he had the chance, of course he would try.
Although this could provoke their ire, he couldn’t care less; he had long resigned himself to living in the dream world forever.
He just needed to keep his real body hidden.
He was not interested in fighting and wouldn’t expose his own motives.
As for what Hilo and the others thought, he didn’t care; they could consider it their waking nightmare.
On the other side.
Night Star Lan wrapped up observing a month’s worth of developments and found it exceedingly amusing.
Embodying the spirit of mischief, she even thought the fun wasn’t enough.
If only Lanber and William Moore could join in, it would be a riot.
Too bad those two were at opposite ends of the planet, one holed up in a room writing, completely indifferent to these matters.
“Hmm… looks like I need to speed things up a bit; it feels like there’s still a long way to go before the ending.”
Just as Night Star Lan was about to ask Luo Xi to accelerate time, a figure suddenly popped up, interrupting her thoughts.
“Night Star Lan, my friend! Long time no see.”
“Kuro? What brings you back?”
The newcomer was none other than the origin of Star Eclipses, Kuro.
His smile was festive as ever, exactly the same as the last time they met.
What could his purpose be this time?
Kuro quickly replied with a grin, “Of course, I’ve come back to host a gathering! My friends have been working so hard, making a sizable impact on this world with the powers bestowed by Bai and me, spreading our enthusiasm! I want to gather them here to celebrate!”
“Uh…?”
Night Star Lan’s pupils twitched in shock.
What kind of wild strategy is this?
Is this how we’re playing it now?
Right at this moment, Hilo, Oya, and Loti Shana were in a cold war!
Charlize had their secrets and was practically public enemy number one.
And here Kuro was, wanting to bring them all together?
Wasn’t that just asking for trouble?
Night Star Lan nearly spoke up to stop him but decided against it.
“Suit yourself.”
At the same time, she was curious to see how it would look when the agitated First Generations gathered in one place.
That sounded like it would be quite the spectacle.
Of course, with Kuro and Bai backing them, they likely wouldn’t act recklessly.
In any case, Night Star Lan was genuinely looking forward to it.
