### Chapter 9: Body Scent
Hearing her younger sister’s words, Xia Yu found it quite reasonable. After all, she had been missing the city streets for quite some time.
Just then, Father Xia Hong and Grandpa had already pushed out their motorcycles. Seeing Xia Ling still talking to Xia Yu, Father Xia Hong impatiently asked, “Little Yu, are you going or not? If you are, get on quickly. You and Little Le can sit in Grandpa’s motorcycle.”
“Okay, okay,” Xia Yu swiftly replied. In the end, she decided to go and check out the city streets.
Thus, Father, Mother, and Xia Ling got on one motorcycle, while Xia Yu and Xia Le rode with Grandpa.
Vrooom vrooom!
The two motorcycles sped off rhythmically. They had to pass by Xia Yu’s elementary school on the way, which stirred up a few unpleasant memories.
Xia Yu thought to herself, if only she hadn’t ventured out with Xia Le that day, taking the mountain path, then she wouldn’t have been caught and ended up like this now.
Gradually, tears welled up in Xia Yu’s eyes, but strong gusts of wind soon swept them away…
At that moment, Xia Le, who was sitting behind Xia Yu, felt something odd. Why could he smell a peculiar scent? Weird indeed; he had only ever smelled this kind of fragrance on girls before. But Xia Yu was his little brother, not a girl, right?
Nonetheless, the motorcycles successfully reached the street market. Once Father and Grandpa left the motorcycles at a parking spot, they could freely stroll around.
During New Year’s season, getting new couplets was a must. Grandpa was especially good at selecting couplets, which explained why he had come to the market today.
As it was close to the New Year, the streets were filled with red decorations, bustling with people. It was lively and vibrant.
Father and Grandpa led the way, Mother and Little Sister held hands and walked in the middle, while Xia Yu and her older brother brought up the rear.
Perhaps due to their earlier experiences, Xia Yu felt extremely insecure. Even when walking, she constantly looked back…
Shortly, she found herself surrounded by her family at a store selling couplets and lucky paper symbols…
The adults were busy choosing couplets and paper symbols, leaving Xia Yu feeling bored. She simply sat aside waiting idly.
Unlike Xia Yu, Xia Le and Xia Ling weren’t bored at all; they each had old smartphones from their parents’ discarded stash.
Watching her older brother and sister play on their phones, Xia Yu wondered, why did I even decide to come out? Watching TV at home would have been better, right?
But since they were already out on the streets, there was no use in regretting it now. Xia Yu grabbed a small stool and sat down, mindlessly staring into space. She wished her parents would finish shopping and head home quickly; she was starting to feel a bit restless.
Then, just as Xia Yu was spacing out, someone also pulled up a stool next to her: “Second Brother, do you want to play?”
Xia Yu turned around, hearing Xia Ling’s voice. Her twin sister handed her a phone, its screen displaying the game “Match Masters.”
Thinking it couldn’t get any worse, Xia Yu figured why not k*ll some time playing games? So she didn’t hesitate and took the phone from Xia Ling, diving straight into the game.
Xia Ling leaned in close to watch. Suddenly, she detected an interesting scent, emanating from Xia Yu. This fragrance, Xia Ling recalled her sisters mentioning it – body scent. Wasn’t this supposed to be something only girls had?
