Chapter 106: Tip-off Kitty, Thank You Kitty
“Come on, Jixue, relax a bit, don’t overthink it. Right now, it’s just you and me, so you can let your guard down completely.”
Lin Zhongyu was dead serious. She planned to start small by letting Mu Jixue practice on her first. When they really faced Yun Zhonghe, there was no doubt Jixue would be calmer.
“No no no, this won’t work! I can’t! That guy…!”
Mu Jixue waved her arms frantically and even tried to bolt, but Lin Zhongyu grabbed her, pushed her onto the bed, and pinned her down.
“Just give it a try. It’s not like you’ll lose any weight.”
“But…!”
Jixue’s mind instantly went to Yun Zhonghe pushing her onto the bed instead of Lin Zhongyu. Especially because she had an image of his face overlapping with Zhongyu’s. She immediately felt like a noodle being squished, her cheeks flushed hot.
“Little Yu, seriously, this won’t do! Let me go!”
“You can’t back out all the time, or Jixue, you’ll never improve! I’ve been too lenient with you, which is why you’re still timid.”
Lin Zhongyu seemed set on pushing Mu Jixue through this ordeal. She believed it was the only way for Jixue to truly get past her mental block.
“Ugh…”
Mu Jixue was at her wit’s end, feeling utterly humiliated. She wanted Zhongyu to stop, but couldn’t bring herself to say it.
No… doing this will make things weird!!
…
“Hmm?”
Yun Zhonghe, fresh from a bath, noticed his talisman receiver light up as steam billowed around him.
After dropping his spiritual energy in, he was stunned by a picture of Mu Jixue making a scissor hands gesture and looking utterly defeated.
“Brother Yun, thank you for your care over the years. I hope you have a good night!”
Wait, isn’t Yun Zhonghe always cold towards people? What kind of play is this?
It was unthinkable that Jixue—usually reserved—would suddenly sound so sweet and even purr like a kitty.
Most likely, it was another playful moment with Lin Zhongyu. The footage suggested Zhongyu was the one behind the camera.
Why would Zhongyu send it to him? Yun Zhonghe’s big head and little head both hit a wall on this one.
“It’s probably a good sign since these two might actually have something.”
The thought of cute, blonde little Jixue doing such a thing left Yun Zhonghe a mix of bewildered and intrigued. But his reputation kept him in check.
“Anyway, I’d rather forget the incident if this were any other person. Who can resist a cute girl like her, especially if she sounds like Kura Kiriwa!”
Too bad the yellow-haired stigma hung over him like a guillotine.
So Yun Zhonghe replied politely, “Thank you for your message, Miss Jixue. I appreciate your kindness and look forward to continuing our cordial relations.”
This reassured everyone that Yun Zhonghe wasn’t going to use their private moment against them.
“See, Jixue? Brother Yun could never bear a grudge against a friend.”
Jixue’s cheeks colored slightly as she averted her eyes with a slight huff.
Well, maybe he did come off a bit less sinister after all.
“Ah, Jixue, how could you send that video around?!”
Mu Jixue felt utterly mortified, imagining what people would think after seeing her act so shamelessly. If not for Lin Zhongyu’s persuasion, she’d never have done such a thing!
Jixue was just trying to help with practice, not knowing that Lin Zhongyu recorded the whole thing secretly.
Lin Zhongyu found Jixue’s antics adorable and couldn’t resist recording it when the opportunity arose. Unfortunately, she accidentally sent it to their group chat.
She swore it was an accident and was apologetic, but Jixue felt too embarrassed to show her face.
“Don’t worry, Jixue. Brother Yun won’t mock you; he’s not like that.”
Lin Zhongyu was disappointed, having thought she was helping their friendship blossom. Instead, she made things worse.
Cloud Nine returned a polite message, easing Jixue’s fears.
“To be honest, I think Cloud Nine is pretty chill, right, Jixue?”
Jixue blushed faintly and turned away with a soft scoff.
Fine… He’s off the hook this time.
Lin Zhongyu had another idea. “Actually, I had a thought. Maybe we should find a new sword for Brother Yun, given his old one broke. Would you help us pick one?”
“This could work. Otherwise, I’ll always owe him.”
Mu Jixue agreed and the two planned to scout around town.
Just then, Tao Jiuer knocked, interrupting their plans.
“Why are you here so late, Jiu’er?”
Tao Jiuer looked stunning in a white dress, enhancing her allure.
“I was asked to bring some tonics and herbs to help both of you,” she purred, hoping to curry favor.
Both Jixue and Zhongyu froze.
Herbs to reduce fire? Why does she want to cool us down?
Then they remembered the secret room.
Sure enough, Yun Zhonghe saw them… everything!
He must have been watching that entire flower-picking escapade!
Yun Zhonghe! You j*rk!
