Chapter 182

Chapter 179: Alive Dad!

Dude!

Yun Zhonghe’s salty elbow came down like a hammer from hell, crushing anything in its path. The air crackled with an audible “snap” that echoed like a gunshot. This elbow strike was so flawless and powerful, it could’ve been pulled straight out of a kung-fu movie, striking with such force that people wondered if he’d practiced it a thousand times!

As a result, the black-clothed man was crushed under the weight of a thousand elephants, losing consciousness instantly as he flew two to three meters away. He ended up landing face-first on the ground, sliding in such an embarrassment-inducing manner that even pigs would’ve been more dignified.

His face swelled up instantly, turning red and puffy like a holiday ham, making it almost impossible to recognize him.

The speed of these events was like lightning, stunning everyone at the table, including the woman named Zhu Yan. They were all wide-eyed and slack-jawed, shocked beyond words.

They had just been flaunting and enjoying the attention and respect of others, never expecting someone would dare challenge their authority so directly!

And yet, here was a guy who hit the guy square in the face with one solid elbow!

“You… you little punk!” The black-clothed man finally regained his senses, struggling to stand despite excruciating pain. His left hand clutched his swollen cheek, and his eyes were bloodshot as he pointed shakily at Yun Zhonghe, spitting out each word like they were being squeezed out through his teeth, “You’re looking for d*ath!”

It was said in the same tone as Mu Jixue’s earlier bravado, but there was no venom or power behind it. The bl**d dripping from the corner of his mouth only made it more comical.

Yet Yun Zhonghe seemed oblivious, continuing his walk with a kind of unruly nonchalance.

At that moment, his right foot “accidentally” stepped firmly onto the black-clothed man’s foot.

“GAAAHHH!!”

A pitiful wail echoed through the room.

This step nearly broke the black-clothed man’s leg.

“Stop! Get back here!”

Now, the man’s fellow diners finally snapped out of their daze, seeing Yun Zhonghe walking away without a care in the world. A yellow-clothed young man quickly stepped forward, spreading his arms like a tiger blocking the road, preventing Yun Zhonghe from leaving.

Yun Zhonghe stopped, his gaze calm and deep as he looked at the man blocking his way. He smirked slightly, saying in a breezy tone, “What’s the matter, fellow cultivator?”

What a laid-back attitude, as if he didn’t have a care in the world.

The yellow-clothed young man was infuriated by this nonchalance. It couldn’t be more of a direct challenge!

His face turned ashen.

“Son of a g*n, you hit our friend and you think you can just waltz out of here?!”

Another short, squat young man stood up and yelled, his voice hoarse from anger.

Then he gave a signal to two other young cultivators.

All three of them were dressed in luxurious robes, clearly from noble families, and exuded an extraordinary aura.

They all stood up, surrounding Yun Zhonghe.

The tension in the room skyrocketed again as everyone’s attention shifted from Su Xiaoxiao’s recent incident to this new conflict. Everyone froze, not wanting to miss any details.

Even the mercenary enforcers keeping order sensed something amiss and wanted to intervene.

But a voice stopped them, signaling them not to act rashly.

This voice belonged to the Yuan Ying stage cultivator who had talked to Yun Zhonghe earlier.

He looked grave as he watched the scene unfold. Yun Zhonghe was remarkably calm and collected, even showing a faint, lazy smile as if he were dealing with something utterly boring. Yet his emerald green eyes glinted with a deadly coldness, sharp as a blade ready to strike.

The Yuan Ying felt that no immediate intervention was needed; let the show go on—it wouldn’t come to much since they were on different levels anyway.

Yun Zhonghe looked at the few people around him, unfazed and with a relaxed smile. “Injure someone? Where did you get that from?”

Yun Zhonghe’s ability to tell lies with a straight face was astounding.

The yellow-clothed youth’s lip trembled, having seen many thick-skinned folk, but none quite like this.

With someone lying next to him, how was he still trying to play dumb?

“You just injured my friend!”

The yellow-clothed youth glared furiously, pointing at the black-clothed man in front of Yun Zhonghe.

Yun Zhonghe noticed the fallen man wailing nearby. He had an exaggerated look of surprise as he pointed first at the fallen man, then at himself, “Did I do this?”

“Otherwise, we saw it with our own eyes. Don’t tell me you’re just going to deny it.”

“No, no, nothing like that. We’re friends, and I’d never fabricate nonsense about anyone. Sorry, really sorry.”

Yun Zhonghe leaned in and gave the fallen man’s face a closer look, mimicking the very act of the black-clothed man harassing Su Xiaoxiao. He had the same fake-surprised, gleeful expression, even lowering his head to examine the man’s face closely.

“Oh my, what a sight! Hasn’t he turned into a pig already? Is this human even a cultivator?”

He spoke sarcastically and dramatically, making the spectators laugh uncontrollably, easing the tension in the room.

Only the black-clothed man’s companions glared at Yun Zhonghe with venomous hatred.

The black-clothed man was so furious he wanted to bite him alive! But the pain from before was still too fresh, making his whole body shake. All he could do was glare hatefully at Yun Zhonghe, wishing he could rip him apart.

Just like he had humiliated Su Xiaoxiao, Yun Zhonghe was retaliating in kind.

“You…” The yellow-clothed man’s face turned red from fury. He knew Yun Zhonghe was here to pick a fight. Enraged, he clenched his fists, reaching for his sword.

But it was like trying to pull a tree out of the ground; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t budge it.

He looked up and found Yun Zhonghe smirking at him, his long finger pressing down on the hilt of his sword.

“Heh, this isn’t the place for that,” Yun Zhonghe chuckled.

Everyone was too stunned to make a sound.

Even those about to draw their weapons relaxed their grips, no longer willing to take any risks.

One finger was enough to hold down the yellow-clothed youth, showcasing the vast gap between the two.

The yellow youth was at the Foundation Establishment stage, yet he felt like Yun Zhonghe was leagues above. His breathing felt as restricted as if he were underwater.

Golden Core stage? Could this teenage punk be a Golden Core cultivator?

Impossible! He appeared younger than Yun Zhonghe and was also likely a new recruit from one of the main sects. No one had ever heard of a golden core rookie.

How could the difference be so huge?

The yellow-clothed youth’s face flushed with anger. With one finger, Yun Zhonghe had prevented him from drawing his sword, a clear insult to his prowess.

Despite Yun Zhonghe’s smiling indifference, the youth refused to back down, pushing harder.

But Yun Zhonghe’s finger remained immobile, as if it were made of iron, holding the spiritual sword in place.

Yun Zhonghe smiled coolly, “Brother, now you should see that I wasn’t avoiding. Just that our strength gaps were too vast for me to feel like I was hitting anything. Oh, sorry, not aimed at specific people—just saying you lot are trash.”

Ridiculous!

The yellow-clothed youth was about to lose his mind. His veins bulged, and he was practically on the verge of a breakdown.

He, the Second Son of the Huang family of Suzhou City, was now facing humiliation outside of town, and in public no less!

Anger boiled over within him, “You should apologize!”

“Apologize?” Yun Zhonghe blinked innocently, “Didn’t you guys also not apologize to the girl? Besides, he was blocking the way. Good dogs don’t block roads; if you block one, you deserve it.”

Unmoved, Yun Zhonghe pondered, adding another thought, “Would you apologize to an ant if you squished one blocking your path?”

“You—” The yellow-clothed youth’s face turned purple from frustration, “Sir, who exactly are you? I am the Second Son of the Huang family in Suzhou City. Please don’t push your luck.”

Seeing his attempt to intimidate failed due to personal shortcomings, the yellow-clothed youth invoked the status of the Huang family.

The Huang family was no small player in Suzhou City. They had power and influence, and no one dared cross them lightly.

However, the other occupants at the table also used their family names to put pressure on Yun Zhonghe.

“I am the eldest son of the Liu family of Suzhou City!”

“I am the Third Son of the Wang family of Suzhou City!”

“I am of the Wu family of Suzhou City…”

Each one tried to use their family’s reputation to intimidate Yun Zhonghe, hoping he’d back down.

Sadly for them, Yun Zhonghe had already heard of all of them.

He recalled his dad mentioning their families, whose prosperity was largely thanks to the silent support from the Yun family.

Yun Zhonghe smirked, “Oh, you are part of the Huang family?”

He smiled strangely, as if he understood something they didn’t.

The yellow-clothed youth thought Yun Zhonghe was intimidated, but he couldn’t hide a sigh of relief. His smug grin showed victory.

“Yes, I’m from the Huang family. Uncle, if you’re free, please visit us at the Huang family.”

Internally, he thought, “Ah, good. Now you know who I am and won’t overestimate yourself. Under the Huang family’s thumb, you’ll know your place!”

To everyone’s astonishment, Yun Zhonghe drew a communication jade pendant from his pocket and sent a soul message to his father.

“What are you doing?” the yellow-clothed youth asked, growing uneasy by the second.

Yun Zhonghe chuckled, his eyes sparkling mischievously, “Nothing much, just updating some books, so bad debts don’t pile up.”

Seeing these sons of influential families behaving in such ugly ways, Yun Zhonghe felt it was time to stop supporting them.

“Why not find someone more agreeable? After all, they’ll always be part of the family.”

The yellow-clothed youth frowned, feeling even more bewildered, but before he could ask, his soul-message device pinged.

So did the jade pendants of the black-clothed man and the rest of his companions. The messages were all coming from their parents.

“Wretched boy! What trouble have you stirred up?”

“This is ruin for all of us…”

“You’re turning out to be a fine son…”

“You’re dead meat…”

Shocking news poured in…

Everyone ranted and raved, wishing they could storm in and beat the sense into these troublemakers.

The yellow-clothed youth’s face changed, his mind racing with panic as if countless ants gnawed at him.

Panic and fear intertwined, making it difficult to breathe.

As their parents informed them of the chaos back home, seemingly abandoning their support, they realized their whole world crumbled.

It was like a bolt from the blue.

Without support from their backing, other families in Suzhou City would pounce like wolves, devouring them whole, leaving their standing in Suzhou City precarious!

The yellow-clothed youth fell to his knees, trembling.

Suddenly, he realized who the blonde teenager was.

Their Great Dad!
