### Chapter 210: The First Day of School
Due to an assault by the dark cultivators, the Xuantian Sect decided to delay their “opening ceremony.”
Today was the first official “opening day” for the sect.
Yun Zhonghe had taken a few days off and was now back at full strength.
Last night, Xue Yunjian was just being her usual self—emotionless and cute. But when she invited Yun Zhonghe over to test the sturdiness of their new bed, complete with a heartfelt love declaration, she hit him hard. Even though he had entered a new realm where man and sword were one, he still said he didn’t want to do any more.
Three times? Yun Zhonghe’s scalp tingled, and he firmly refused.
Does this Miss Sword really understand what kind of line she should draw?
While he wouldn’t “degrade,” she certainly would “degenerate.” Yet Xue Yunjian persisted like a bulldog, until finally, Yun Zhonghe blocked her with xuan iron and she complied.
Thus was Yun Zhonghe’s swift recovery.
Of course, it helped that Master Qin’s potion was incredible.
This morning, as soon as dawn broke, Yun Zhonghe got up from his bed. He didn’t change his clothes; he always had his robe on, even in sleep. It had been a tough lesson—losing his clothes to Xue Yunjian made him realize the importance of never taking them off.
If only he had worn his robe then, Yun Zhonghe might have turned the tide of battle. At least he wouldn’t have felt so helpless.
So, from now on, he would wear his robe anytime, anywhere, and no matter what. Better safe than sorry.
“All set for my grand debut at the Outer Gate Academy. No slip-ups allowed.”
Yun Zhonghe meticulously cleaned his room, double-checked his items, then confidently strode out the door towards the ladies’ quarters.
Lin Zhongyu was already taken under the tutelage of the Yin-Yang Sword God at Xuan Jian Peak. The only remaining female disciple in the Outer Gate was Su Xiaoxiao.
Su Xiaoxiao woke up early too.
When she pushed open her door, she was stunned—the sight of Yun Zhonghe awaiting her outside filled her with surprise.
“Oh?! Y-yun—Yun Senior? W-what are you doing here?”
Su Xiaoxiao’s eyes widened, incredulous.
Yun Zhonghe smiled warmly, letting the morning sun highlight his kindness: “Good morning! Let’s go to the Outer Gate academy together. We can make the trek together.”
“Together… You’re not heading to the Inner Gate?”
Su Xiaoxiao grew increasingly perplexed. She saw him head for the Xuantian Peak, imagining him as some prodigy destined for greatness.
Yun Zhonghe shook his head: “No way, I’m just an average bloke; they won’t take me. I remain an Outer Gate disciple. But since today is lecture day…”
Talentless…
Su Xiaoxiao paused, wondering if Yun Zhonghe really didn’t feel pain saying this. His display of combat skills yesterday seemed far from average.
But then…
A faint joy welled up in her heart.
She’d thought it would just be her alone in the Outer Gate, feeling anxious and worried about fitting in. But now, having Yun Zhonghe by her side, she felt a sudden surge of confidence.
Last night, tossing and turning after the events, she felt overwhelmed by the complex life ahead. Seeing Yun Zhonghe, her heart lifted like sunshine breaking through the clouds.
Truthfully, she appreciated him staying, especially after the attack. Now, she seemed to realize clearer feelings within herself.
This time, she purposefully showed off her storage ring on her left hand. Though shy, she looked Yun Zhonghe straight in the eye before glancing away, hiding her gaze behind a curtain of hair.
Yun Zhonghe sensed her subtle shift.
He was thrilled. Su Xiaoxiao seemed to accept his gift, bringing such relief.
Was this signifying their friendship on the rise, getting more solid and sturdy?
Great! A good omen for the opening day—let’s keep this going!
With someone beside her, school wouldn’t be lonely anymore.
“Yun Senior, how’s your health?” Su Xiaoxiao asked, concerned. Fearful of hidden injuries from earlier fights.
“No worries, I’m fully healed. Better than ever right now.”
“If anything feels off, please let me know!”
“No, it’s reliable. Then I’ll definitely ask you, little Su Su.”
Yun Zhonghe’s smile instantly eased Su Xiaoxiao’s tension. Her heart flitted with joy.
Starting today, it would just be her and Yun Senior…
Suddenly, she realized maybe others might mistake them for couple… Yun Senior and her being something more…
“Me and Yun Senior as a couple…”
Her thoughts wandered further, her face blushing crimson.
She punched her chest lightly, trying to get calm.
What was she thinking? Could she deserve such?
Being able to support Yun Zhonghe was enough.
Yun Zhonghe: ?
What was wrong with her? Was she hitting herself because her chest was too big and distracting?
Not to worry.
Yun Zhonghe chuckled inwardly.
Because it was the first day, they headed to the canteen and grabbed breakfast before rushing to class together.
By the time Yun Zhonghe and Su Xiaoxiao arrived, it was packed. This year had almost four hundred fresh disciples.
In such a large group, even they blended in quietly, taking seats away from the crowd.
The commotion from before didn’t seem to reach their corner, thanks to Master Qin’s discretion.
Crowds triggered Su Xiaoxiao’s social anxiety. So, Yun Zhonghe acted like Lin Zhongyu and calmed her down.
Now Lin Zhongyu had left, leaving everything to Yun Zhonghe.
But he remained patient. Building their bond bit by bit.
As other students arrived, the classroom buzzed.
Strangers chatted, those near became familiar.
A clear throat shattered the noise. New faces turned their attention to the entrance.
Wang Hao stepped in steadily, exuding poise and confidence.
New disciples rose; respect was due for seniors.
At the podium, Wang Hao nodded, smiling radiantly:
“Excellent. This year’s batch seems promising.”
His voice was crisp and magnetic. All listened intently.
Pausing for effect, he introduced himself: “I’m Wang Hao, the new class mentor. Daily assessments and odd jobs are mine. If you need help with any techniques or knowledge, I’ll guide you.”
“Wang Hao!”
Whispers erupted upon hearing his name.
“The Wang Hao, top ten in the Inner Gate?”
“He must be the one, Yuan Ying stage, youthful but gifted. He stood out and joined the elite, now here guiding us—unbelievable young talent!”
“…”
Transitioning quickly from ordinary disciple to mentor was impressive. Only those with real talent could join the elite ranks.
Xuantian Sect constantly sought fresh bl**d. Young meant potential. Wang Hao catching everyone’s eye meant he was exceptionally qualified.
New disciples spent nights understanding sect dynamics, preparing for this moment.
Wang Hao stood, smiling benevolently, ignoring the chatter.
Yun Zhonghe stared, surprised. Mentor images usually were gruff old men—he was a handsome disruptor.
Progress indeed; not just elders leading anymore.
Wang Hao’s sunny demeanor charmed, attracting swooning girls.
Strong, smart, young men draw admiration. Catching Wang Hao’s attention made their dreams come true.
Unbothered by the eyes, Wang Hao spoke: “Today, we’ll cover our responsibilities. Also, there’s an interesting student among us—level eight foundation establishment, cleared 35th floor of the Myriad Path Divine Tower, even killing two golden core demons together.”
“Student Yun, here?”
Yun Zhonghe stood, the classroom murmuring.
Some gaped; some wondered; some doubted.
They claimed he reached greatness due to luck and friends, not merit—now they were elders, only Yun Zhonghe was left behind…
