”Hey, why are you back?”
”Brother Tian! Back for the final exams?”

The two guys immediately seized this rare chance to chat with Lin Tian. They fawned over him like they were waiting in line for free cake.

And another person screaming “you’re always trash, and you’ll be trash forever.”

”I’m the Dragonfly Captain,”

”Tell me, what do you all want? Let’s figure out who’s at fault.”
”Brother Tian, why did you come to school?”
Xu Yong couldn’t help but ask.
”I’m a high school student. Is it that hard to understand?”
Lin Tian looked unfazed.
”No way, you’ve gone pro, right? You should be making tons of money each month, not planning to finish high school.”
”They gave me 219 million RMB. Still, no matter what, I need to keep learning.”

Xu Yong’s face contorted as his eyes widened,
”219 million! Are you serious?!”
”It’s 2,190,478.8 RMB actually. Not much, really.”

Xu Yong grabbed Lin Tian’s head, shaking him furiously and shouting in anger,
”Seeing you earn millions makes me more depressed than my debt of millions!”

It seemed Xu Yong had lost all hope.
He slumped back in defeat.
”Fine, fine. Even if I don’t make as much dough as you or have a pretty fiancée, at least I’m not that studious. Getting into a second-rate uni shouldn’t be a problem.”
”Yong, don’t lose heart,” said Lin Tian,
”You’re aiming for Sichuan University for animation, right?”

Xu Yong buried his head in Lin Tian’s chest, crying like a baby.
As usual, Lin Tian feigned concern with a pat on the back.
Su Ran giggled, covering her mouth.
”You laugh at me now!”
Xu Yong shot up.
”Dragonfly Captain, help me out!”
Xu Yong pointed accusingly at Su Ran,
”That Su Ran’s TikTok account—surely you’ve seen how messed up it is? She dresses like a cosplay freak every day, acting all cutesy and girly. Just because she’s acting cute, does that mean I’m supposed to tolerate it?”
”That’s just my hobby, I’m clean and don’t owe anyone anything,” Su Ran argued.
”So what’s that got to do with you?”
”Exactly,” added Lin Tian,
”What business of yours is it?”
”Come on.”
Xu Yong was stumped.
He didn’t expect Lin Tian to side with Su Ran.
”Yeah!” Su Ran stuck her tongue out.
”No, it really isn’t. If Su Ran’s really being suggestive, what can you do about it? Why get worked up over it?” Lin Tian said.
He thought Xu Yong was being over-the-top.
Sure, Xu Yong used to be a fan of casual commentary, but he rarely went too far in real life. That’s more of an act Lin Tian would pull off.
Xu Yong might be aggressive online but in reality, he’d help carry suitcases for other passengers on trains, then politely smile.
What was wrong with Su Ran posting videos? Even if she crossed a line, he could grumble, but calling her out?
Weren’t you being presumptuous?
”Fine!”
Xu Yong fell silent.
He slumped back into his seat, as though ready to give up,
”Yeah, sorry, I just talk too much. You go ahead and post, it’s none of my concern! Post away—I’ll probably enjoy it, and I’ll like and share your stuff too!”
Then, Xu Yong started reading from his textbook loudly.

Su Ran looked at Xu Yong with a wry smile.
She sat down next to him.
Watching the whole mess, Lin Tian was amused.
Looks like coming back to school wasn’t a waste of time. There was a drama to watch.
Lin Tian grabbed his old textbook and continued reading.
A little later, Xu Yong nudged Lin Tian under the desk,
”I seemed pretty tense earlier, huh?” he said, looking resentful.
”You were practically having a stroke,” Lin Tian replied seriously,
“So, what’s your deal with Su Ran?”
”Not much going on. Since we ate together last time, we discovered we live close by and started going home together.”
”Going home together… Sounds like you guys have lots to talk about.”
”Yep, we argue every day,” he replied.
”Strong relationship, there.”
”Pretty much,”
Lin Tian mused,
”The two people who fight every time they chat, yet insist on meeting up daily.”
”Are you raising venomous snakes here?”
”Practicing insult techniques?”
Lin Tian guessed that someone among them liked being scolded, maybe both did, since fighting only seemed to draw them closer.
Lin Tian squinted at Xu Yong,
”You’re not enjoying this, are you?”
”Enjoy what?”
Xu Yong rolled his eyes.
”If you find Su Ran’s content so offensive, are you suddenly taking up the cause to save fallen angels?”
”Nothing like that. It’s just, it bugs me seeing classmates act that way,” Xu Yong admitted.
After a long pause, he pounded his fist on the table,
”To hell with it. From now on, whatever she does, has nothing to do with me. Let her do whatever, I won’t judge.”
The bell rang.
The classroom bustled with noise again.
Only the corner of Lin Tian’s desk remained oddly quiet.
A moment later.
Su Ran turned around,
”Wu Yong.”
She spoke in all earnestness,
”Do you have any ideas for better videos? Maybe I can try something new.”
