Chapter 31

### Chapter 31: Moonlight and Cat

“Do you really like school uniforms??”

Gan Yan Yu’s eyes widened, instinctively hugging herself tightly.

Though she had her suspicions, hearing Lin Tian actually say it left her in shock.

“I wore them a lot because most of my wardrobe is skirts, and the only casual shirts I have are school uniforms. So, I ended up wearing them all the time, it’s not because I actually like them.”

Is there really someone who likes school uniforms?

The blue and white color scheme, those awkward buttons.

They’re just ugly!

“You don’t understand!”

After all, Gan Yan Yu has been glued to classical music like a little old lady, her thinking lagging behind the young people of the new era is just normal.

So, Lin Tian earnestly began to enlighten the girl:

“Sure, the design of school uniforms might be ugly, but it’s not about looks. It’s really more of that… unique vibe, you know?”

Just think about it.

Even the leftover geisha from the foot bath city, switched into school uniforms, could sell their services for 699!

And let’s be real, we’re talking about regular folks here.

Putting on a school uniform gives off an innate “pure feeling” that can easily be associated with words like “white moonlight” and “first love.”

Of course, you need good looks to unlock that.

Good-looking people in school uniforms could make everyone reminisce about their own sweet, awkward first love memories from high school, sighing that “no one can have both youth and the feelings of youth at the same time.”

But for someone less than stellar, all they’ll recall is that sweltering summer, crammed classrooms, their yellow-faced desk partner, endless homework, and those sadistic teachers, cursing at anyone who longed to return to high school as suffering from Stockholm syndrome!

Gan Yan Yu obviously falls into the former category.

“In a school uniform, you’d look even more pure and youthful on camera,” Lin Tian tried to explain this concept to Gan Yan Yu.

“Do I really need a school uniform?”

Gan Yan Yu tilted her head, staring blankly at Lin Tian.

Wow, she actually has some self-awareness!

Given Gan Yan Yu’s looks, why would she need a uniform? Even without one, she exudes the essence of a fresh first love.

With her sleek ponytail, fair skin, and those long eyelashes doing the fluttering thing…

Who wouldn’t say she’s drop-dead gorgeous?

Realizing her previous comment might lead to misunderstandings, Gan Yan Yu quickly explained, “I mean, I am already a high school student, I don’t need any assistance.”

“But didn’t you say you don’t want to show your face?” Lin Tian questioned.

Yesterday at the gym, he and Gan Yan Yu had discussed filming videos, and she had specifically mentioned not wanting to show her face in the initial sh**t.

After all, she’s got a bit of a rep in the cello circle.

Part of it comes from her having participated in numerous competitions and performed in many prestigious concert halls.

The other part? “I have a good grandpa.”

Gan Yan Yu didn’t want to be discussed online as “how Gan’s granddaughter is doing” before she even achieves anything.

She carries not just her own reputation but her grandpa’s too.

Lin Tian understood this.

After all, there are plenty of folks not showing their faces in performance videos online — that’s not surprising.

“Alright then.”

Upon hearing Lin Tian say that, Gan Yan Yu finally ran out of things to argue and turned to change her clothes.

Fortunately, she had planned ahead for this clothing change, so she stuffed a few outfits into her cello bag when she arrived.

Before long, she emerged from the restroom, her outfit in place.

Blue and white colors, comfy long pants.

The loose fitting concealed her figure quite well, but you could still vaguely see a slight curve at her chest.

Now that’s on point.

When Lin Tian first met Gan Yan Yu, she was actually wearing this very outfit.

Yet, Lin Tian was still a bit curious.

“Teacher Gan.”

“Hmm?”

“Grab the corner of your shirt.”

“Like this?” Gan Yan Yu pinched the right corner of her uniform.

“No, not pinch! Grab it! A bit harder, stuff more fabric in your palm!”

Lin Tian urged.

“Oh, oh.”

Gan Yan Yu pulled and grabbed a big handful.

“Now, tug the corner down.”

Gan Yan Yu yanked.

Suddenly, the uniform clung tightly to her form, and a pair of cute bunnies revealed an impressive outline, with a comic-level waist peeking out from under the shirt.

Well, that’s some nice figure!

Lin Tian was quite pleased.

If only Gan Yan Yu would quickly get back to a normal weight and add just a touch of flesh…

Heavenly beauty.

“So, what’s this for?”

Gan Yan Yu looked puzzled at Lin Tian. She followed his instructions, but he was just staring, saying nothing.

“It’s nothing.”

Lin Tian smirked. “Let’s get started.”

The recording went smoothly. Having done it once before, Gan Yan Yu performed noticeably better this time — almost a one-take wonder.

Once done, Lin Tian pulled out his ancient military-grade laptop, which he’d scored from Xu Yong for 200 bucks as a “bro price,” and set it on the table.

He imported the audio file into the computer and played it back.

No surprise, the music recorded with professional equipment sounded fantastic.

After letting Gan Yan Yu listen, she was quite satisfied.

“It’s just a tad monotone. Such a good piece would sound awesome with piano accompaniment; we should sh**t another version!” Gan Yan Yu proposed.

“That’s true.”

Actually, Lin Tian had thought the same from the start.

But alas, he was really low on funds.

Barely managing to handle basic living expenses and now he wants a piano?

Even the recording equipment had been secured through established connections and some phone calls.

Gan Yan Yu understood the reasoning and didn’t delve further into the topic.

“Now, we just need to publish the video.”

Before posting, they still needed to register an account.

While pondering the ID, Lin Tian found himself in thought.

Since they agreed to collaborate, he couldn’t just go off and name it himself.

“What should we call it?”

Lin Tian turned to Gan Yan Yu, tossing the question her way.

But the moment the words left his mouth, he regretted it.

What name could a person whose WeChat ID is “Sunshine After the Rain” possibly come up with?

“How about Moonlight and Cat?”

Gan Yan Yu proposed seriously.

“Who’s Moonlight?”

“You.”

“And Cat?”

“Me.”

“Why am I Moonlight?”

“Do you want to be the cat?”

“Uh, never mind.”

Lin Tian quickly typed “Moonlight and Cat” into the computer.

The account was officially registered!

Then Lin Tian uploaded the video and filled in the description.

[Original Music: “Ode to Love” Cello Performance]

[Performer: Cat]

[Equipment Provided by: SYC]

“Do we really need so many tags?” Gan Yan Yu couldn’t help but ask, “What’s the last one about?”

“Those are bows and strings, of course,” Lin Tian replied and clicked Publish.
