Chapter 361

Chapter 362: Lin Zhongyu Returns

Yun Zhonghe and Tao Jiu’er were admiring the night sky, which was speckled with stars. Right then, a trail of light from a spirit boat streaked across the heavens.

On the spirit boat, a black-haired girl with twin tails gazed out at the starry sky. Her golden eyes sparkled with delight and anticipation.

“Brother Yun! I’m back! Xue’er, I’m back!”

The girl is Lin Zhongyu, the closest partner to Yun Zhonghe and Mu Jixue. Sent by her master, the Yin-Yang Sword God, to hone her sword techniques on the Western Continent and complete her missions ahead of schedule, she returned to the Xuantian Sect accompanied by the Yin-Yang Sword God.

Even though it had only been a month since her departure, Lin Zhongyu seemed more mature now, like a fresh lotus emerging from the water. Her long legs, wrapped in dark silk stockings, exuded vitality and energy—something that never got old, no matter how many times you licked them!

“Apprentice, we’ll reach the Xuantian Sect in fifteen minutes; prepare to disembark.”

Lin Zhongyu looked at the scenery of the Xuantian Sect in the distance when she suddenly received a message from the Yin-Yang Sword God. She quickly replied respectfully, “Yes, Master!”

The Yin-Yang Sword God’s status was extraordinary, and thus his spirit boat was registered and allowed over the Xuantian Mansion.

As the Xuantian Sect drew closer, Lin Zhongyu’s heart raced. No longer was she the weak Lin Zhongyu; her journey on the Western Continent had brought immense growth, both in power and confidence. Now she felt ready to stand before Yun Zhonghe and Mu Jixue as their shield!

Previously, Yun and Xue protected her, but today, it’s her turn to guard those most important to her!

Thinking about this, Lin Zhongyu’s heart burned with excitement.

In fact, she’d been quite lonely throughout this month and missed Yun Zhonghe and Mu Jixue deeply. With rigorous training tasks piling up, she hadn’t even had time to check in with her friends, which made her feel somewhat awkward.

Wonder what Brother Yun and Xue might be doing right now…

“Hmm? Brother Yun?”

As Lin Zhongyu’s thoughts drifted, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure through her golden eyes. But the swift movement of the spirit boat prevented her from confirming if it was Yun Zhonghe.

She saw something like two people in a small grove, possibly engaged in some activity.

“Why… must be my longing for Brother Yun making me hallucinate.”

Lin Zhongyu chuckled bitterly.

Come to think of it, she hasn’t even heard Yun Zhonghe’s response yet.

Recalling the last time they met, it was at Yun Zhonghe’s place where she boldly joined him in an unexpected bath.

Back then, Lin Zhongyu confessed her feelings and gave him her first kiss—all vividly memorable even now.

However, she knew such actions could put Yun Zhonghe in a tight spot and that she wasn’t ready to monopolize him either. Perhaps she just got carried away at the moment.

Certainly, she had no regrets, but worried her sudden move might create friction between Yun Zhonghe and Mu Jixue, especially during her absence.

“Apprentice, we have arrived at the sect, it’s time to disembark.”

The Yin-Yang Sword God’s words pulled Lin Zhongyu out of her reverie. She stiffened momentarily, then turned to respond politely.

But the Yin-Yang Sword God was astute, capturing the wave of emotion in Lin Zhongyu’s heart. So he advised, “Steady your emotions; an adept swordsman fears nothing, confusion stagnates the blade.”

“Respectfully, Master.”

Lin Zhongyu straightened herself, no longer showing signs of youthful bashfulness but gaining a composure and maturity. The Yin-Yang Sword God nodded with satisfaction.

Her mindset had transformed impressively during this trip—a testament to the rare uncut jade that she truly was.

The spirit boat docked at the port square of the Xuantian Sect, and they disembarked together. It seemed someone had already been waiting.

“Xiao Yu!”

As soon as Lin Zhongyu breathed the air of the Xuantian Sect, she heard a familiar voice. A tiny, snow-white figure rushed towards her. Lin Zhongyu’s long lashes fluttered as a faint smile spread across her face: “Xue?”

Lin Zhongyu was surprised because she hadn’t informed Mu Jixue about her return, fearing it might affect her training.

Mu Jixue, however, possessed keen intuition and sensed Xiao Yu’s return in advance. She quickly completed her practice and explained the situation early to wait.

Though Yu Yue Zhenren wasn’t the chummy type, she made an exception considering a close friend was returning. Besides, with motivation, Mu Jixue’s training progressed rapidly—she needed a strong push.

Compared to Yun Zhonghe, this child really excelled.

Two close childhood friends reunited joyously, holding each other for a long time.

“Xiao Yu, you seem taller?”

Mu Jixue noticed Xiao Yu had grown taller and slimmer, enviable indeed.

“Xue, you’ve also grown.”

Lin Zhongyu felt Mu Jixue seemed bustier too.

If it were before, Lin Zhongyu would be envious, but now, perhaps due to meditation, she felt better.

Of course, envy did linger, but not overtly. She couldn’t help wondering why she kept growing while missing Brother Yun’s big peaks.

Yet, compared to their sisterly bond, these thoughts were trivial.

Knowing Lin Zhongyu and Mu Jixue’s strong rapport, the Yin-Yang Sword God returned to Xuantian Peak.

Both being direct disciples of elders, unlike other outer students, they enjoyed greater freedom.

“How have you been, Xue?”

Pulling Mu Jixue along, they strolled through the sect’s paths.

“Of course, fine!”

Mu Jixue recounted recent events, including the Tianhai City incident and her rivalries with Su Xinghe. She also met the Young Miss of the Xia Family business and discovered Yun Zhonghe had adopted a beautiful zombie…

Even with significant inner growth, Lin Zhongyu remained stunned by all the updates.

Just a month passed and so much happened!

They faced major threats, and Yun Zhonghe’s women grew in number. Crucially, she wasn’t there for any of it.

This left her feeling like she’d missed something essential.

Worry set in.
