Chapter 60 – This is Showboating!
No interruptions, just non-stop playing through all seven pieces.
Sounds intense, doesn’t it?
Lin Tian isn’t against the idea. He wants to give it a try.
But he’s more concerned about Gan Yanyu’s condition.
Gan Yanyu has never been physically fit. Even though she’s trying hard to exercise lately, her training is still strictly limited.
For instance, if her goal is to run 1000 meters, she takes breaks every 250 meters.
It’s slow, but she always finishes.
But Gao Zhenyang insists on playing straight through.
And sure enough, there’s no time for breaks on stage.
Sometimes you gotta do things the hard way.
”Come on,” Gan Yanyu said.
”Are you sure?”
”If I can’t handle it, I’ll stop.”
She spoke calmly.
”You really like setting yourself up for failure.”
Lin Tian rolled his eyes.
Gan Yanyu isn’t one to express herself well or bend at all.
If anything goes wrong later, she’ll just force through it.
Her hands will stop moving before her body does.
”It won’t happen; it’s just practice,” Gan Yanyu said seriously, raising a finger. “You’re thinking of situations that could happen during a performance.”
Wow, self-aware!

Lin Tian was speechless.
Even though Gan Yanyu’s explanation sounded violent, it somehow made sense.
Lin Tian felt a lot better about their performance ahead.
”Let’s do it then.”
Lin Tian took the seven sheet music sheets.
The two of them immediately scanned through the sheets at the speed of light.
Beside them, three students started to get nervous.
Really?
They’ve already shown off with that incredible performance. Now they’re gonna sight-read?!
If the beautiful performance earlier could be explained away by their mastery of the Can-Can,
Now, playing directly off unfamiliar sheet music…
Gao Li’s basic skills were solid.
But he could only read simple pieces, and even then, there would be hesitations.
Fluent playing was out of the question!
Those two are not only playing, they’re performing together!
Even with their impressive show earlier, it might still be too much.
Gao Li was questioning this internally,

”Here we go.”
Lin Tian and Gan Yanyu put away the sheet music and returned to their positions.

The two ready at their spots.
”The first piece, Havier, E Major Second Concerto.”
”Begin!”
The music struck!
This piece is deeply moving, with cello and piano intertwining to paint a grand battlefield.
The piece is perfectly suited for the cello.
Lin Tian focused on playing the piano, providing an excellent accompaniment.
While Gan Yanyu seemed to break free from shackles.
Her raven hair danced in the gentle breeze coming through the window, yet she played fervently.
So elegant, yet so fierce!
The impact of the music was so enchanting and stirring, it captivated everyone who listened.
It felt as though this wasn’t their first time performing the piece at all!
Smooth and fluid, no hesitation.
They even conveyed the emotion of the piece!
”The second piece, Alvin, C Major Sixth Concerto!”
Then began another lively tune.
Their playing quickly became more active.
A happy vibe filled the piano room.
”Holy cr*p! Holy cr*p! Holy cr*p!!”
”d*mn it!”
As a flower grower, Gao Li couldn’t hold back, blurting out his astonishment.
Gao Zhenyang clearly lied earlier.
These pieces weren’t just easy ones you can sight-read after scanning twice.
Each of these pieces was a big bother in their lessons!
This is supposed to be practice??
This is clearly showing off!
He had never seen someone turn sight-reading into a level worthy of a concert hall!
It’s showing off, man, pure showing off!!
Language abandoned him, the word ‘Holy cr*p’ being the only thing left to describe this!
As a piano student, he fell in love with the cello for the first time!
But, Gao Li noticed,
Lin Tian’s piano skills were clearly inferior to Gan Yanyu’s cello.
But this wasn’t because Lin Tian’s skills were lacking—he simply couldn’t keep up with the cello!

Gao Zhenyang realized Gao Li was standing right beside him.
”The Can-Can is written by Teacher Lin?!”
”He’s Moonlight Brother?!”
”He’s in high school?!”
Gao Li went berserk.
As a piano student, he had become a d*e-hard fan of Moonlight and Cat after first hearing Can-Can.
He admired Moonlight’s talent to the point of worship.
Just like everyone else online, he thought high school uniforms were just personas.
Now, he discovers the real person playing piano right in front of him is a high school student.
Gao Li’s brain nearly exploded.
”Shh—”
Realizing he slipped, Gao Zhenyang gave the “quiet” signal.
”No leaks,” he warned.
”Got it!”
Nodding eagerly, Gao Li looked back at the performers.
Besides the initial shock, his emotions were now in turmoil.
”The third piece, Victor, Morn Prelude.”
”The fourth piece, Alvin, D Minor Eighth Concerto.”
As the music reached a fever pitch,
Lin Tian’s piano sped up, and the young woman’s cello soared.
The relentless sound soon filled the entire hallway.
Students gathered outside, puzzled.
Why were they keeping at it non-stop?
Moreover, it sounded rather nice.
Which professor was rehearsing with a student?
Curious, students began gravitating toward the piano room.
When the first bold soul opened the door,
Soon, many more college students joined inside.
Centered around the podium where Lin Tian and Gan Yanyu stood, people crowded around, some spilling out to watch from the windows.
”They’re on the fifth and sixth pieces…”
Watching the two high school students play one almost smoky piano and pull on strings incessantly,
Over a hundred college students squeezed tightly around, mouths wide open in surprise!
