### Chapter 0: I Am the Boss (3)

### Chapter 0: I Am the Boss (3)

“Undead creatures don’t seem that impressive, huh?” Lady Rong Ji said, her arms crossed and a cheerful grin on her face as she stepped over a pile of crushed bones like a boss.

Without the fog’s cover, the skeletons and zombies lurking around quickly became visible to everyone.

Sure, the ghosts floating above attempted to give them a mental scare, but they were absolutely terrified of the demon race’s potions. Just toss one over, ignite it with purple-black flames, and those ghosts would scatter faster than you can say “boo,” never to show their faces again!

And as for those sneaky undead mages hiding in the shadows, casting curses? Well, once spotted, they’d get turned into Swiss cheese by the soldiers armed with ranged attacks.

In short, without the fog, these undead creatures stood no chance against the army.

“Alligator Monster, Alligator Monster?” Lady Rong Ji called out twice.

The former lord of Black Stone City hurriedly approached her, looking all serious and respectful. “What can I do for you, my lord?”

“Is this really the trash you encountered back then?”

The Alligator Monster replied, a bit sheepishly, “Well, it seems an impressive guy hasn’t shown up yet. Most of my men bit the dust fighting him.”

“I see. Okay, looks like we have to be extra cautious.”

No sooner had Lady Rong Ji spoken than a series of thunderous booms echoed from a distance.

“Boom, boom…”

There it was—dozens of heavy stone walls shooting up from the ground, completely sealing off their path forward.

The Alligator Monster gulped, “Here it comes, the labyrinth! So many of my subordinates met their end in that maze.”

Trissa, who had been anxiously worried that the challengers would waltz right up to the boss, finally let out a sigh of relief. So far, high-level undead creatures hadn’t appeared, but she knew the Ji Shen and the demon race weren’t going all out yet.

Especially Fu Yetian and Lady Rong Ji, those two Ji Shen protectors were not to be underestimated.

She couldn’t help but worry. Would her subordinates be able to stretch their tasks until Lord Lin was truly prepared? If it weren’t for Lord Lin’s orders, she wouldn’t want to be a double agent anymore—even if it meant buying just a bit more time.

As the trembling ground settled, a maze made of towering stone walls was completely formed.

The entrance wasn’t the narrow passage people expected; it was quite spacious! Even ten people could walk side by side without feeling squished.

But the wide path didn’t last long—under fifty meters, it quickly branched into three different paths.

Debate ensued among the challengers.

Some argued that splitting up was a terrible idea—once separated, the enemy could ambush anyone in a myriad of corners. Plus, who knew if the maze would have more forks down the line? Were they going to split forever?

Others were adamant that dividing their forces was essential for a quick escape from the maze. This was a battlefield after all; if danger arose, a few sacrifices to ensure the safety of the main group was well worth it.

And thus, opinions clashed like a bunch of caffeinated squirrels.

Fu Yetian tested the strength of the stone walls with a punch, but all he left was a narrow crack. Clearly, smashing through obstacles wasn’t going to work—they were not in the right state for that.

“My esteemed lord, what do you think we should do?” Lady Rong Ji asked brightly, looking at Prince Eric.

After some thought, Prince Eric replied, “It’s simple! Send out small teams for marking and scouting. With so many of us crammed in here, if we get hit by fire or an explosion, the losses would be catastrophic.”

Fu Yetian nodded, “The prince is right. Let’s not rush!”

With two big shots agreeing, Lady Rong Ji hopped on the bandwagon.

To avoid getting lost in even more forks, they dispatched fifteen teams: five teams each at three different entrances.

And just as they thought, after the first intersection, there were more branches!

About ten minutes later, it seemed every team was soloing it.

Tom and Jerry had been waiting patiently; they were just waiting for the teams to completely split up.

Their plan? Pick them off one by one once they were alone, thereby buying time for Lord Lin to prepare.

With a signal, the hidden lich suddenly appeared at various forks, launching surprise attacks on the enemies.

The lich’s attacks ignored defenses. Its scythe-like weapon could easily slice through foes, sucking out their mental energy. Once drained, those people would become the lich’s vassals and puppets.

Initially, it was smooth sailing—one small team got wiped out, and others were somewhat hurt.

But to Tom and Jerry’s shock, the leaders from both Ji Shen and the demon race had come to the party.

Fu Yetian, Lady Rong Ji, Great King of the Split Land, Tiger Demon, Prince Eric, Freeman, and a bunch of high-level demon warriors made sure the liches were about to regret their sneak attacks.

In the blink of an eye, the group unleashed a barrage of firepower and turned the liches into dust.

Ten minutes later, Fu Yetian’s team finally emerged from the maze.

Before them stood a palace, shimmering in ice and snow. Even though they were still far from it, a biting cold already greeted them.

“You all go back and get help. I’ll stay here to guard the exit,” Fu Yetian instructed.

“Right away, Protector!”

As the team hurried back, only Fu Yetian remained on the icy plains.

“ROAR!”

A ferocious roar rained down from above. Fu Yetian turned around just in time to see two bone dragons soaring in the open cavern.

People had long spun tales of dragons, mysterious creatures thought to exist solely in myths, but now, here they were, skeletal remains fluttering in the maze.

Fu Yetian glanced back—his comrades were still lagging behind.

Yet the bone dragons clearly saw him as their Dinner of the Day! One floated menacingly, while the other dove, emitting an ear-splitting shriek, unleashing a foul-smelling dragon breath toward Fu Yetian.

After his battle in Thousand Bird City, Fu Yetian had leveled up like crazy.

Now, facing such a fearsome undead creature, he remained calm and collected.

“Boom!”

An explosive wave wrapped around him.

His stature surged by two inches, muscles bulging almost cartoonishly—within two seconds, he was a whole new size!

He dodged the incoming dragon breath and shot towards the bone dragon like a cannonball.

“Crack!”

His fist hammered down on the bone dragon’s shoulder blade, forcing it to stagger back two steps, almost losing its balance.

Tom and Jerry exchanged astonished glances from their hiding spot.

This guy can actually trade blows with a bone dragon?!
