With a hint of revenge brewing in his heart, Ma Yongxin secretly snapped a photo of Lin Nan, who was surrounded by police, and quickly sent it to the class group chat.
“Hey everyone, guess who this is? Hahaha!”
Classmate A: “Looks super familiar, hey? Isn’t that Lin Nan?”
Classmate B: “Yeah, that’s her! She was our school beauty back in the day. I wonder why she dropped out—it’s such a shame.”
Classmate C: “How did Lin Nan end up surrounded by cops? What happened?”
Ma Yongxin chuckled, “Hehe, you guys have no idea how tragic her situation is…”
He intentionally kept them in suspense.
The classmates immediately erupted in excitement; gossip was the bread and butter of their student lives, especially when it involved the former school beauty.
Classmate A: “Come on, spill the tea! What’s going on?”
Classmate B: “Holy moly, isn’t this right outside our hospital’s office building? Man, I’m stuck in a meeting, otherwise I’d totally be there!”
Classmate C: “How do you know so much? Is this just a wild guess?”
Ma Yongxin: “Guess? Not a chance! I saw it with my own eyes.”
“Hurry up and share already! Stop teasing us!”
After a moment, Ma Yongxin noticed that even the classmates who usually lurked in the shadows were now chiming in, and he proudly started typing away on his screen.
“So here’s the deal. Last night, our ward received a patient, and it was clear from the get-go it was a kn*fe wound. His eyeball was slashed open cleanly with only a five percent chance of regaining sight. You can bet that guy is some sort of gangster, and the little brother who brought him in wouldn’t say a word—scared we’d call the cops.”
Classmate A: “Get to the point!”
Ma Yongxin: “Hold your horses! Here comes the juicy part!
So today, I’m on duty, and guess what? Lin Nan claims to be his family member and comes to me wanting to switch him to a different room.
As an old classmate, I wanted to help her, but the wards were totally packed—no can do.
I told her straight up, and promised that as soon as a room opens up, she’d be the first to know.
Then you won’t believe what happened next—haha! She claimed her man made some ‘special contributions’ to the country and deserved a spot in the VIP ward.
I was totally dumbfounded, seriously doubting if Lin Nan was having a mental breakdown from too much pressure. I mean, her life clearly wasn’t going well, which might explain her not-so-sound judgment.”
Classmate B: “Hahaha, this is killing me! A thug with ‘special contributions’? Does she mean that if he dies, it’s somehow a contribution to society?”
Classmate C: “Come on, Ma, is this all just your speculation? Isn’t it a bit much to slander an old classmate like this?”
Ma Yongxin: “Haha, were you perhaps Lin Nan’s fanboy back in the day? You’re defending her hard!”
Classmate C: “Dude, that’s too far!”
Ma Yongxin: “And she was also carrying a designer bag—I looked it up, it starts at thirty thousand yuan here! If that’s real, how does a dropout like her afford it? The fastest way for a pretty woman to make money… well, you don’t need me to say more, do you?”
The group chat exploded with comments as everyone debated:

Ma Yongxin: “You guys have no idea! I want to help, but she knocked out a security guard and brought the cops down on her! She’s clearly not thinking straight and is super violent—yikes, she might actually end up in jail.”
Another wave of chaos erupted in the group chat.
Several members from Ma Yongxin’s hospital quickly shouted they were heading to the scene.
Meanwhile, three police officers had pulled out their handcuffs.
If those two didn’t cooperate, they would move in and take them away by force without hesitation.
“Officers, could you please give me a little more time? I used to work in the police department—I know several directors there. I can prove our identity with a quick call.”
Nie Zhengchu pleaded urgently.
The leading officer shook his head. “Whatever’s going on can wait until you’re at the station. Please don’t waste anyone’s time.”
The security guards were already positioned to disperse the crowd; with so many people gathered outside the office building, onlookers might think a riot had broken out.
Lin Nan calmly stated, “There’s really nothing wrong with going with them.”
Surrounded by ordinary citizens, many with their phones raised to capture the drama, she knew that lashing out at public officials would create a far worse situation—definitely not her goal.
What Lin Nan wanted was to resolve the issue without escalating tensions or deepening disputes.
The Special Operations Bureau had to be treated with the respect commensurate to their efforts, but they certainly weren’t going to receive that by throwing punches in the street.
Had that security team leader not tried to lay hands on her, she wouldn’t have reacted.
Seeing that the bureau director had already spoken, Nie Zhengchu could only stew in frustration. He had made up his mind that once they were inside the precinct, he’d reach out to the director and insist on a proper apology before they let Lin Nan go.
After all, the Special Operations Bureau was there to clean up messes—not get pushed around.

“Whoa, she really is being taken away!”

As the crowd of onlookers escorted the police and Lin Nan slowly towards the patrol car, a sudden “buzz buzz buzz” filled the air above.
People looked up and saw three military helicopters painted in woodland camouflage zooming in fast, swirling above the hospital.
“Military helicopters?”
“Are they here to transport an injured person?”
“Maybe they’re just passing by?”
Most folks were confused about the presence of the three military helicopters above the hospital.
Little did they know, the helicopters hovered directly above the plaza in front of the office building, and as they descended lower, the gusts from the helicopter blades forced people to bend down to avoid the wind blast.
Several hats were snatched right off heads, creating a mini commotion.
Lin Nan lifted her head, her ponytail dancing in the wind.
The police officers behind her urged, “Hurry up! Get moving, don’t just stand there!”
And at that very moment, all three helicopters simultaneously opened their bay doors and dropped down deployment ropes.
