Luo Ying’s Shadow Sword danced helplessly, bouncing off Ren Dan’s perfectly polished defense like rubber against steel.
In this moment, the roles of attacker and defender had dramatically flipped.
Fatty stood frozen, bl**d gushing from his wounds, utterly unable to fathom that White Peach, their companion through thick and thin, would betray them in such a crucial moment.

White Peach shot him a cold glance, “Shut up! You have no idea what we’re doing this for. But in gratitude for your friendship, I’ll personally k*ll you later.”
Fatty blinked, his voice trembling more and more, “Wait… you’ve been fooling me from the start? You and the Great Palace Master are in cahoots!”
White Peach smirked, “Fool me? You, a mere Heavenly Sword Sect disciple, do you really think the Great Palace Master would risk it all just for you?”
“What is this all for then?!” Fatty yelled, heart-wrenching anguish spilling from his voice.
He genuinely cared for White Peach, but all he got in return was ruthless betrayal.
“You don’t need to know!” White Peach pulled out her prized kn*fe, glancing at an infuriated Luo Ying with a smile, “My mission is complete; now it’s either you d*e or I d*e.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than the entire Ling You Palace began to tremble violently.
On that towering stone slab, the seven islands marked around the underground palace transformed into a deep bl**d red.
Simultaneously, rocks from the ceiling above the underground palace cracked open, raining down like a terrible party favor, clattering against the palace structure.
White Peach’s array had activated the slaughter almost seamlessly, leaving Lin Nan helpless as she watched all six lightballs explode simultaneously.
She had perfectly missed her chance to save the fishermen.
Was it because she trusted her friend too much?
White Peach’s betrayal filled her with a mix of gut-wrenching pain and boiling rage.
Lin Nan hung her head, glaring at the barely alive Great Palace Master beneath her foot, “Why are you doing this? Why be so cruel?! They are all human beings! Living, breathing people!”
“Flowerless Palace? Ha! After all these years claiming to be the Immortal Gate, you’re nothing but the cruelest executioners in the human world! You’re dragging so many innocent people to their deaths for your own selfish desires!”
The Great Palace Master stared blankly at her, a glimmer of relief appearing in her eyes.
“This doesn’t sound like you at all. Have you really forgotten everything?”
“But even so, you will soon learn your true fate.”
Lin Nan stomped down on the Great Palace Master’s right arm.
With a loud crunch, her arm shattered like a dried twig, breaking cleanly into two.
“I don’t want to hear your nonsense; just tell me what your purpose is! What is that stone slab for?”
With all the fishermen now dead, she had no one left to threaten her, and the critical issue was the secret of that slab. Ironically, though she was recognized by the temple, she still couldn’t learn anything related to it.
Ever since meeting the Great Palace Master, everything connected to Frost North Snow felt like an incomprehensible knot tangled in her mind, and she desperately wanted to understand it all.
The Great Palace Master smiled as though the shattered arm was just a piece of firewood, not part of her body.
“You will know soon enough. If what I’ve done can keep them from discovering the truth… of course, the biggest variable is you.
I never expected you would show up here. If I fail, then that’s fate.
To be honest, I’m already dead.
This body is just a temporary shell I borrowed. I can’t last more than three days.
Today is the last day.”
Lin Nan gasped, “You possess the spirit?!”
“Yes,” the Great Palace Master said calmly.
Meanwhile, in the main hall, White Peach and Luo Ying were locked in combat.

The shrill, raspy voice echoed throughout.
Lin Nan was stunned; she never expected the male character to suddenly get so worked up and dare to order her around.
Hey, I’m the main character here!
Are you losing your mind?!
But before she could process this twist, the Great Palace Master smiled as she finished the last character with a flourish.
“Idiot, she’s just been stalling for time, can’t you see that?”
With a swift motion, the male character appeared in front of the Great Palace Master and crushed her skull underfoot.
And in the blink of an eye, he slapped Lin Nan hard across the face, the sound echoing sharply in the chamber.
