# Chapter 1: I’m the Boss (4)
==============================
With a punch, Prince Eric sent the diving bone dragon flying, and Fu Yetian seized the moment to pursue.
“Zheng…”
He swiftly drew the sword strapped to his back, and the sharp blade emitted a long, ringing sound as it surrounded the bone dragon like a lightning bolt.
“Bang bang bang!”
After several intense clashes, the bone dragon realized it was in serious trouble and retaliated with a ferocity that could frighten most mere mortals.
The dragon’s breath, a terrifying force that could drain life at a mere touch, struck at Fu Yetian like it was free, while the dragon’s tough skeletal frame made it a surprisingly equal match for a while.
Suddenly, Fu Yetian let out a long, echoing roar. It seemed he had grown accustomed to the bone dragon’s fighting style and was tired of wasting time.
His heavy sword was suddenly enveloped in a hazy glow. Although the light wasn’t blinding, the bone dragon couldn’t help but gasp in fear, as it was the first time since joining the fray that it showed signs of wanting to retreat.
Unfortunately, escaping at this point was utterly impossible.
“Ka-cha ka-cha!”
That was the crisp sound of the heavy sword continuously slicing through the bone dragon’s body.
“Boom!”
Once nearly half of the bone dragon was chopped to bits by Fu Yetian, the core that animated the undead collapsed, exploding with a loud bang.
The remaining skeletal frame instantly turned into lifeless debris, exploding and decomposing in mid-air.
Fu Yetian gracefully sheathed his heavy sword on his back and turned his attention to another bone dragon.
Seeing its companion’s demise, the other bone dragon lost its fighting spirit and, with its tail tucked between its legs, turned to flee.
Fu Yetian had no intention of chasing; instead, he gently landed on the ground and curiously stared at the severed head of the deceased bone dragon.
The remnants of its soul’s fire still flickered inside its skull, like a candle in the wind, ready to go out at any moment.
Just then, Rong Ji and her crew, who had hurriedly arrived at the exit, happened to witness Fu Yetian decimate the bone dragon in a dramatic fashion, sending a chill down Rong Ji’s spine.
She had never expected that after only half a year apart, her former aide would now be capable of single-handedly taking down a legendary creature.
Though it was a resurrected dragon, it had once been one of the proudest creatures on Earth.
It seemed she definitely needed to elevate Fu Yetian’s threat level by a couple of notches.
Thinking this, Rong Ji quickly feigned admiration, “Brother Fu, that was amazing! With you on our side, how could we not succeed?!”
Fu Yetian glanced at her with his usual poker face, “Don’t get ahead of yourself. This place isn’t as simple as it seems.
I can feel that there’s a stronger force behind the bone dragon.”
Rong Ji chuckled, “With Brother Fu here, what do I have to worry about?”
Fu Yetian lightly snorted; he didn’t want to tear their relationship apart just yet, so he let her think whatever she wanted. After all, they were still on the same side for now, no need to be sharp with each other at this moment.
As time passed, both armies gradually navigated through the maze, assembling on the frozen plain.
They could see the palace, hidden beneath a blanket of ice and snow in the distance, as if submerged in a deep sea, unwilling to be disturbed.
“Alligator Monster, this must be where you finally found the key, right?”
Rong Ji looked at the equally stunned Alligator Monster and curiously asked.
“Uh… I don’t know, I didn’t see this palace last time I was here…”
“So, you’re saying you’ve fabricated battle reports?”
The Alligator Monster quickly knelt, desperately defending himself, “I would never dare to speak falsely! Please judge fairly, my lord!”
Rong Ji didn’t respond, waiting until both armies had crossed the maze and reached the frozen plain before raising her hand, allowing the Alligator Monster to get up.
“That ice palace must be the key to this layer.”
Prince Eric stepped forward, scanning Fu Yetian and Rong Ji.
“Just as you said,” Fu Yetian nodded.
“Then should we launch a full-scale assault next?”
Fu Yetian replied, “You’re right, Your Highness.”
Eric patted his protruding belly and smiled, “Lord Fu is always so concise. Then, I propose we proceed from now on based on our own capabilities. Any spoils of war will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, so we won’t waste time quarreling. How do you both feel about that?”
Rong Ji smiled seductively, “Such an arrangement by Your Highness certainly makes us eager to comply.”
Fu Yetian slowly added, “Regardless, there was once a honeymoon period between Ji Shen and the Empire, during which we benefited from the demon race. For now, let Your Highness lead the troops first, and we shall follow closely behind. What do you think, Your Highness?”
Eric and Rong Ji reached the frozen plain and witnessed Fu Yetian defeat the bone dragon’s final moments.
In his eyes, the bone dragon was the most formidable creature in this underground palace, so it wasn’t beyond the realm of possibility if Fu Yetian, wielding the might of a conqueror, were to tear apart their previous agreement.
However, what surprised him was that Fu Yetian would actually give them the opportunity to enter the palace first.
This made Eric suspicious—was there some kind of trap ahead that Ji Shen wanted them to walk into?
Thinking this, Eric quickly made a decision, “No, no, no, let’s go in together instead. This way, we can have each other’s backs!”
Fu Yetian helplessly shook his head, “Since Your Highness insists, I’ll obey your wishes.”
Both sides quickly began to arrange their military strategies.
Once Eric was out of sight, Rong Ji snickered at Fu Yetian, “To make that old coot back down willingly, your methods really do impress me, Brother Fu.”
Fu Yetian replied blandly, “We merely respect his opinions.”
Thanks to the spaciousness of the frozen plain in front of the palace, both sides lined up and charged toward the palace entrance without feeling cramped.
Just as they were about five hundred meters away from the grand palace gate, two black-clad knights, accompanied by a bunch of skeleton soldiers, suddenly blocked their way.
These two were none other than Tom and Jerry.
Seeing the bone dragon defeated, they realized they were nearly out of options if they didn’t leap into action.
“Lie Tu, Tiger Demon, Alligator, these two are up to you!” Rong Ji commanded.
On Eric’s side, Freeman and two A-Class warriors were dispatched.
On the battlefield, it didn’t matter about one-on-one battles; as long as you could defeat the enemy, any means were justified in the name of justice.
Tom and Jerry paid no mind to hesitation as they wielded their long knives, legs clenching their steeds, charging at the blocking enemies with reckless abandon.
“For Lord Lin!”
However, to the demon race and Ji Shen’s side, the two knights, clad entirely in black armor, roared,
“For Lord Kael’thas!”
