Chapter 1: The Exile (7) (Bonus Update)
==============================
In the vast and suffocating wasteland,
Fu Yetian, who had just escaped from d*ath, never imagined he would encounter so many twists and turns in such a short time—more nerve-wracking than any upheaval in his entire life.
Just as the thick-lipped fruit girl finished off all the living beings nearby and took off towards Thousand Bird City,
the two surviving incubators suddenly “bang!” and popped open, from which leapt a man and a woman.
The guy looked vaguely familiar to Fu Yetian, with about eighty percent resemblance to the Evil Incarnation of the Monster King. However, this guy looked way more matured, like a grown-up version of that young boy.
The other individual was a demon girl.
With her blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall stature, she was pretty much on par with him. And, thanks to her proportions, she appeared strikingly beautiful.
Especially those two ample assets on her chest; ordinary human women rarely reach that size.
Of course, as a typical trait of demons, her horns were barely visible beneath her long hair.
Fu Yetian instinctively thought they were on the same team as the thick-lipped fruit girl. He chuckled self-deprecatingly and closed his eyes, ready to meet his demise.
After all, that precious d*ath exemption talisman—he only had one!
If they were on the same level as the fruit girl, then he might as well just wait for d*ath.
But to his surprise,
the two leaping out of the incubators didn’t even glance at him. Instead, their eyes locked onto the flying fruit girl in the distance.
As if sensing their gaze,
the thick-lipped girl suddenly stopped and turned to face them.
The man gently nodded to the demon girl and said, “Please.”
The demon girl sweetly smiled at him, took a step closer, kissed his cheek, and whispered, “You must survive.”
The guy paused for a moment, furrowing his brow.
The demon girl discreetly backed away, silently chanting a spell.
Within just two minutes,
the surroundings twisted, as if a frosted glass was placed at the end of his view, making it impossible to see what changes had taken place outside.
Fu Yetian was both shocked and puzzled.
At that moment, however, the demon girl quietly appeared by his side and blew into his ear.
Startled, Fu Yetian immediately distanced himself from her, cupping his hands and saying, “Miss, please maintain your composure!”
The demon girl covered her mouth and laughed, “Oh, human men are always so amusing; they clearly want something, but they always pretend to be upright gentlemen.”
Fu Yetian was like, “…”
I mean, seriously, lady, is this really the time for that kind of talk?
Because at that very moment, the guy resembling the Evil Incarnation of the Monster King had already taken off into the sky, charging straight at the thick-lipped girl.
Considering the fact that she had just killed off quite a few of his subordinates and nearly sent him to the underworld,
he wouldn’t say he hated her to the core, but he definitely hoped that she would pay for the lives she ended.
“Boom!”
The two violently collided in mid-air.
Though they were at least a kilometer away from where Fu Yetian was watching, a massive shockwave rushed toward him. With his power, he couldn’t hold his ground. If not for the demon girl catching him just in time, he would’ve been blown away.
What struck him as odd was,
the distant forest seemed unaffected by the shockwave, still swaying gracefully in the morning sun like it was having a chill moment.
The demon girl explained, “This is my subspace. In human terms, it’s somewhat similar to the Small Cave Heaven, but the difference is that the subspace can overlap with the main space.
However, outsiders can’t see our battle, and any damage from our fight in the subspace won’t affect the main space.”
This was the first time Fu Yetian heard of such a powerful spell and was taken aback. “The demon race is already this strong?”
“No, this spell is just me,” the demon girl replied with a smile.
She seemed uninterested in the aerial battle and appeared to have utmost confidence in that guy.
In any case, Fu Yetian felt her eagerness to chat, as if she had been stuck on a desert island for years without talking and couldn’t wait to engage with someone.
Before entering the forbidden grounds of Thousand Bird City, Fu Yetian only vaguely knew that this place held some figures long lost to the world, who had left a profound mark on history.
However, he had no clue about their specific origins and identities.
Noticing the demon girl’s enthusiasm and her intent to talk even if he stayed silent, Fu Yetian decided to ask a few more questions.
“Who is she, and who are you guys?”
“Just call me Lilith.”
The fighting between the thick-lipped girl and the guy in the sky became increasingly intense.
Though both were trading blows, the thick-lipped girl clearly had an edge.
Especially with her ability to summon light swords at will, the guy was constantly at a disadvantage. One false move and he’d get hurt by a light sword.
Luckily, the guy had an extremely strong recovery ability,
and his fighting style leaned more towards instinct, making many of his moves look like a wild animal’s pounce and tear.
For a while, it seemed neither side had a way to get the upper hand.
Lilith crossed her arms and tilted her head, looking at the skirmish above, and said with a slight smile,
“That young boy is named Shiyuan. When he arrived, I was still asleep. Most of our interactions were through subconscious communication, you know, that soul-deep kind of communication.”
Lilith’s cheeks actually flushed slightly.
“As for that bare-bottomed woman,
other companions said she was the first to show up in the room and never spoke to anyone.
Throughout all these long years, we barely hung on through soul communication.
Honestly, we have to thank you; otherwise, we would’ve had no idea how long we’d have to wait to regain our bodies.
Too bad, there aren’t many of us left.”
Lilith glanced at the massive pit caused by the violent explosion beside her and shrugged.
As Fu Yetian listened to Lilith’s story, he stared blankly into the sky.
If what she said was true, and the thick-lipped girl was the first person put in the forbidden grounds, then her rage towards Thousand Bird City and her stance of going for revenge made sense.
But why were Lilith and the others trying to stop the thick-lipped girl?
Just out of compassion for the beings affected by the chaos?
“Well, I did manage to talk to her once. You know, the energy extracted from our bodies gathers through complex pipes. After a long time, even she couldn’t completely block our probing questions.
One day, she suddenly said to me,
‘We are Exiles, completely abandoned beings.’”
