### Chapter 3: I’m the Boss (6)

### Chapter 3: I’m the Boss (6)

==============================

Ever since the Ice Palace came crashing down, countless sharp ice spikes were raining from the sky, and the floor was slicker than a greased pig, leaving the soldiers with nowhere to stand.

In just a moment, at least a quarter of the soldiers were injured or dead, and the air was filled with the sounds of wails.

“Trissa, what are you waiting for? Hurry up! Save someone!” Eric yelled.

“Ding ding dong…”

The frantic and decidedly unpleasant sound of the harp filled the air.

In a moment of crisis, she couldn’t focus on technique. Even if she could only muster up 30% effectiveness, the sped-up casting made a difference, boosting her lifesaving efficiency.

Earlier, Lin Nan had asked Trissa if she could remain indifferent in the face of her kind perishing.

She thought she could harden her heart; after all, with the God of Harmony above her, and her ancestors’ wishes, she reasoned that the best result was that those who ventured into the maze would be lost.

But just now, when she saw so many of her kin hurt by falling ice spikes, she hesitated.

To save, or not to save?

Fortunately, Eric’s shout snapped her out of her daze.

A new idea struck her, but first, she had to do her utmost to rescue these poor souls.

Thanks to the efforts of the three harpists, unless someone was unlucky enough to d*e on the spot, even the seriously wounded were stabilized under their care.

On the Ji Shen’s side, those injured had heard the harpists’ melody from afar, and with some of the Great Demons proficient in healing spells, the dead remained—thankfully—few.

The tremors in the Ice Palace hadn’t completely stopped, but at least the minute vibrations weren’t causing further harm.

Everyone just breathed a huge sigh of relief,

But, alas, a terrifying spectacle finally unfolded.

As the palace continued to shake, a visible crack appeared on the surface of the massive ice block imprisoning the d*ath Knight.

“Crack crack…”

The fissure widened, the gap deepening.

The guy in the pure black helmet, who had been keeping his eyes shut tight, suddenly popped them open, his gaze slicing through the shaky ice block like a hot kn*fe through butter.

“Boom!”

The d*ath Knight burst open his arms, and the ice shards that had encased him exploded outward like fireworks.

“Pfft pfft…”

The soldiers who were too close screamed as they were impaled by the flying ice pieces, leaving wounds that would barely heal. Even the harpists, in their desperate attempts to save them, could only postpone the inevitable.

Typically, to conserve magic, they played only a simple “Requiem,” soothing their emotions as they prepared to face d*ath.

In this tense moment, Ji Shen and the Demon Race braced themselves, nearly all their strongest fighters stood at the front, looking to mob this freshly awakened boss and crush him quickly.

“Ha ha! Who are you fools? Servants of the God of the Undead?”

Kael’thas broke free from all the ice, feeling lighter than a feather, while the Soul Horse beneath him let out a joyful snort, thrilled to finally stretch its legs.

Fu Yetian exclaimed, “Respectable Knight, you must have mistaken us. We are merely adventurers passing through. If you could let us move to the next level of the maze, we would be most grateful.”

“Hahaha, you stupid fools think you can trick me again! I, Kael’thas, will not be deceived a second time!”

Kael’thas swung his massive sword, but the giant horse covered in fish scale armor didn’t seem to feel any weight at all. It merely leaped lightly, balancing perfectly on a torch bracket on the grand hall wall, not swaying an inch.

“This guy has lost it!”

Fu Yetian glanced back at the Alligator Monster, “You, go test him out!”

The Alligator Monster blanched. “My Lord, I can’t take him! Really!”

Fu Yetian drew his sword, coldly stating, “I’m just asking you to test him, not to throw your life away. What are you scared of?”

Although the Alligator Monster had never faced Fu Yetian directly, he knew how formidable Lady Rong Ji was; anyone who could stand with her was no pushover in a fight.

He sensed from Fu Yetian’s glare that refusal would end with him being punished for disobeying orders.

“Dammit! Here goes nothing!”

He had escaped from the d*ath Knight last time, so surely he could do it again.

With his long iron rod in hand, the Alligator Monster jumped into the fray, cautiously approaching the icy-cold, murderous Black Armored Knight.

If he sensed trouble, he’d make a break for it.

Kael’thas’s eyes burned with rage because his challenger was merely an alligator that had taken on a half-human form; he felt insulted that such a creature was the first to challenge him.

Plus, the Black Knights and countless undead who used to guard the palace had all been slaughtered by the enemies.

If he didn’t wipe these despicable foes off the map, how could he ever face the ones he needed vengeance against?

As the Alligator Monster crept closer, the Soul Horse stirred.

It moved so lightly it seemed to float on air, gliding with the breeze.

Before the Alligator Monster could brace himself, the d*ath Knight was already hovering above him.

“Zing!”

The massive sword sliced down from above with lightning speed, leaving a bright red line right through the center of the Alligator Monster’s body.

When the d*ath Knight sheathed his weapon, turning his back to the crowd,

The Alligator Monster fell to the ground, split cleanly in two, exploding into a shower of bl**d.

In just one move, the once invincible lord of Black Stone City fell to the blade of the boss.

Perhaps, until his last breath, he’d never understand why his opponent had suddenly become so strong—he hadn’t even had a chance to dodge.

At this moment, everyone stood in shock.

They had thought the Alligator Monster would only suffer minor wounds; after all, Fu Yetian hadn’t intended for him to d*e, planning to help if things got too dire.

But he hadn’t even gotten a chance to draw his sword before he was struck down right there.

This d*ath Knight named Kael’thas was stronger than anyone had ever imagined.
