### Chapter 4: Sea Battle Royale
Under the starry sky, the ocean was originally calm and peaceful.
But out of nowhere, a wild wind whipped in, tossing the sea into chaos like a blender on the highest setting.
Two figures riding a flying sword were instantly drenched by the pouring rain, but Luo Ying showed no signs of slowing down.
They were like a tiny boat navigating the turbulent waves and the oppressive dark clouds, bouncing up and down like a rubber duck in a kiddie pool.
“Are we there yet?” Luo Ying shouted, wiping rain off her forehead.
The roar of the crashing waves and howling winds was far louder than she had imagined. She had to yell at the top of her lungs for the male character right behind her to hear.
“Should be soon! Just keep heading in this direction!”
As a minor avatar of the system, the male character had some less-than-glamorous perks, like being able to take shortcuts.
The moment he saw the island map, he uploaded it to the system, compared it with real terrain, and quickly pinpointed the marked location.
But they never expected to encounter such nasty weather on their way.
The island was just ahead, yet the increasingly fierce hurricane seemed hell-bent on tossing them away.
“Hold on tight!”
With a commanding shout from Luo Ying, her dark glimmer sword fired off several nearly invisible beams of light ahead.
The next moment, there was a thunderous explosion.
It was as if a hole had been blasted in the sky, causing the wind speed to suddenly decrease.
Seizing the opportunity, they immediately increased their speed,
barely escaping the swirling winds before they closed in again.
But just as they thought they were in the clear, a thick dark cloud materialized right in front of them, crackling with countless bolts of lightning.
Beneath the dark cloud, the land was shrouded, and deafening thunder echoed from below.
Looking up, it almost seemed like the dark cloud was alive.
It was constantly shifting shapes as if a giant was stirring it with chopsticks, trying to break up stubborn cotton candy.
“Boom!”
Another terrifying crash sounded.
This time, both Luo Ying and the male character spotted a young boy darting in and out of the dark clouds.
They were taken aback.
Before they could react, the boy seemed to notice them too.
“Wahhhh!”
With a peculiar shout, the boy charged at them brandishing a long stick like a crazed man.
Luo Ying jumped off the flying sword, waving her hand to cast a spell.
The sword quickly veered off in a different direction with the male character on it.
Fuming, he yelled, “Turn back! Hurry!”
It was as if the flying sword sensed its master was in danger and actually redirected itself.
But just as he turned back, Luo Ying collided fiercely with the unidentified boy.
“Bam!”
With a deafening crash, Luo Ying was sent flying, like a kite with a snipped string plummeting down.
The boy cackled in delight, then raised his stick, aiming to deliver a fatal blow.
Just then, the male character arrived on the flying sword, catching Luo Ying mid-freefall and sharply diving away from the boy.
The boy’s intended strike missed entirely.
Furious, he howled and charged at the male character like a wild animal.
Feeling the boy’s terrifying aura, the male character didn’t even consider fighting back.
What a joke! The Master Sister couldn’t even withstand a single hit from him! Just how powerful was this kid? The answer was freaking obvious.
A game of chase ensued.
The boy was getting closer, his gaze filled with a thirst for bl**d and the urge to k*ll.
Luo Ying never thought she would be defeated so quickly.
After just a brief encounter, it felt as if she was bound hand and foot, unable to muster even a fraction of her former strength.
Why was this happening?
She couldn’t wrap her head around it.
Seeing the boy closing in, Luo Ying gritted her teeth and said, “You go on! I’ll hold him off!”
Hearing this, the male character only tightened his grip around her, shaking his head. “If we’re going down, we go down together!”
“You idiot! Put me down!”
Luo Ying squirmed, that last blow had left her chest feeling like it was being crushed by a sledgehammer.
Now, with that crazed boy on the hunt behind them, if she didn’t step up, they’d both end up as fish food.
She had originally hesitated to break free for fear of hurting the male character, but now the situation left her no room for second thoughts.
Gritting her teeth against the excruciating pain, she forced herself to push through the constriction in her chest. As soon as she felt a bit of relief, she twisted away from the male character.
“Bring me the sword!”
Her fallen dark glimmer sword instantly appeared in her hand, and at the same time, she spat out some of her drink.
In an instant, the sword was enveloped in blue flames.
Illuminated by the flickering firelight, Luo Ying suddenly realized that this powerful boy was probably the very avatar of the Monster King once suppressed at the foot of Phoenix Mountain!
As the boy shrieked and lunged at her, Luo Ying steeled herself, putting aside thoughts of his identity. First, she needed to survive!
This time, she barely adapted to the boy’s overwhelming pressure and managed to regain some power.
Even so, on his third strike, the boy sent her flying with a swing of his stick.
His immense strength was nearly impossible to resist.
“Wow…”
A mouthful of bl**d flew from her throat.
Luo Ying tumbled through the air, flipping over several times before barely managing to stabilize herself.
The male character, hesitant to rush in for a rescue, had noticed something terrifying.
The boy also halted his pursuit, casting his gaze into the distance.
The turbulent dark clouds over the island were gradually dissipating, revealing a giant figure before them.
“Roarrr!”
A monster! It was a monster!
This creature was far bigger than any monster they had ever seen before.
If Lin Nan were here in her real form, she’d be exclaiming, “Holy cr*p! This is totally a Godzilla knock-off!”
As a few little pests buzzed around it like flies, disrupting its sleep, “Godzilla” shook its head and opened its massive mouth, unleashing a torrent of flames.
The male character jumped in surprise and hurriedly maneuvered the flying sword higher.
Luo Ying barely made it out of the way.
Only the boy charged straight toward that flames with a maniacal laugh.
“Boom!”
His iron staff instantly shattered the flames, then he dove towards “Godzilla,” entangled in a fierce struggle with the monster.
Luo Ying and the male character stared, dumbfounded.
On the brink of life and d*ath, the two survivors finally realized that their clothes, already soaked by the rain, were now drenched from their cold sweat.
“Could their goal be this monster?” Luo Ying murmured.
The male character, anxiety creeping into his voice, asked, “What do we do now?”
“Let the gods battle it out! This is way out of our league,” Luo Ying sighed, feeling utterly powerless for the first time.
The boy was probably the avatar of the Monster King.
Who would’ve thought her trip to the Flowerless Palace would land her in such hot water?
But given her current state, was she even fit to take a bite of this juicy fish?
