**Chapter 5: Cycle of Life and Death**

Chapter 5: Cycle of Life and d*ath

==============================

No one expected that the cage made from deep sea cold iron would look as fragile as paper in the boy’s eyes.

With a resounding “crack crack,” the bars, as thick as an arm, instantly crumbled under his mighty bend.

“Roar…”

Slowly, the boy emerged from the deformed cage, letting out a long howl to the sky.

His gaze then swept across Ru Yu and her companions like that of a fierce beast about to go on a rampage.

At that moment, even Ru Yu couldn’t help but take a step back.

She had never seen such a terrifying look in anyone’s eyes.

Though the boy had a human form, the gaze that contained countless hints of slaughter and brutality gave off the vibe of a ferocious beast that had existed since the primordial age, offering no glimmer of hope.

“Ahhh…”

Ru Yu’s subordinates behind her could no longer withstand the pressure and went into a frenzy, screaming as they rolled and crawled towards the cave exit.

Torches were thrown to the ground, the scattered light casting a restless shadow on Ru Yu’s face.

No one had anticipated that the prisoner they had brought all the way from the Heavenly Sword Sect’s Small Thousand World would be this terrifying upon waking.

The boy suddenly moved.

His figure vanished from in front of Ru Yu like a flash of lightning.

Just as her hair, stirred by a gust, gently settled, those terrified subordinates were already piled on the floor.

Their heads were twisted off as if it were merely a warm-up exercise, their faces frozen in terror, giving off a chilling sight.

The boy didn’t seem done having his fun. After trampling their heads into a puddle of bl**d, his gaze finally landed on Ru Yu’s stiff silhouette.

She could hardly make any move.

This boy’s strength was unfathomable, possibly reaching the level of a top-tier Great Demon.

Listening to the sound of his slow steps approaching, Ru Yu felt like she was encased in plaster—she wanted to move, but her hands and feet wouldn’t obey.

So this is the pressure of a high-level being?

b*stard, b*stard!

Was she really going to d*e here today?

If she had known something like this would happen, she would have sent a flesh puppet in her place.

She had been careless.

She was still young, with a bright life and pleasures ahead waiting for her.

She didn’t want to d*e!

The boy’s finger lightly touched her neck.

Ru Yu’s fear intensified.

She was so scared that she couldn’t even let out a scream; all she could do was wait for her doom.

Seconds passed.

One minute passed.

The expected pain never came.

The fingertips still wandering near her neck felt like the skin of a cold serpent—icy and devoid of warmth.

“Sister…”

What? He was talking!

“Sister…”

Could it be… he was calling me?

With her back drenched in cold sweat, Ru Yu dared not move an inch or respond.

Until the boy released his finger and slowly stepped in front of her, his eyes still filled with chaotic emotions, but the killing intent had faded considerably.

“Sister, don’t be afraid, the bad guys have already been killed by me.”

With Ru Yu’s cleverness, it was clear she hadn’t considered that this powerful yet brutal boy had mistaken her for someone else.

He probably had been locked up for too long and his brain was a bit muddled.

Ru Yu quickly replied, “Yes, thank you.”

The boy’s voice was slightly hoarse, “As long as I’m here, I won’t let any harm come to you, sister.”

“Good… I’m really happy to have a brother like you.”

Ru Yu carefully responded.

The boy silently drew closer to her, his gaze growing calmer.

Ru Yu’s heart stirred.

Since he mistook her for his sister, maybe getting closer would lower his guard and bring him into their organization.

With this kind of strength at her side, even facing the sect leaders of the various Immortal Gates wouldn’t be a problem.

As the boy neared, she slowly opened her arms, wanting to embrace this boy who was nearly her height.

Everything felt extraordinarily peaceful and harmonious.

If he really viewed her as a sister and listened to her, her status in the organization would surely rise.

Thinking this, Ru Yu’s smile became increasingly sincere.

Just when the two were about to connect…

The boy suddenly jumped up, swinging his hand to slap Ru Yu’s head right off her neck.

The gaping wound sprayed bl**d like a fountain.

The headless corpse supported itself on the ground for about a second before crashing down.

The boy laughed maniacally amidst the rain of bl**d, “Hahaha… haha…”

“This way… sister can stay with me forever…”

Ru Yu’s head flew like a soccer ball kicked by a giant, crashing against the rock wall before falling down, flipping several times before finally coming to a stop.

Her bloodied face remained with a smile, her pupils still reflecting the serene expression from before the boy went berserk.

Dragging Ru Yu’s headless body, the boy slowly headed toward the back of the cage.

There, lay a cave entrance that wasn’t very noticeable.

“Sister, you’ll live here from now on. I’ll come every day to keep you company.”

With a thud, the headless corpse was tossed into the cave.

What was terrifying was that the cave didn’t just contain Ru Yu’s body; beneath her lay several other headless female corpses, the viscous bl**d had soaked the cave’s bottom.

The corpse at the very bottom had already begun to rot, with fat maggots crawling over its surface.

The boy seemed oblivious, swaying as he walked away.

Maybe this little exercise had worn him out because he climbed back into the cage and fell asleep with a snore.

At that moment, a hook descended from the cave’s ceiling, removing the damaged cage, and then another brand-new cage descended, enclosing the boy within its heavy bars once more.

The cave returned to its calm.

Aside from the boy, only a floor littered with corpses and bl**d remained.

……

“Uh… ah…”

Suddenly waking up as if from a nightmare, Ru Yu shot up from her bed.

She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, her body trembling uncontrollably.

The vivid pain of her neck being severed made her feel immense fear.

Her mental stress was overwhelming.

Before she could fully come to her senses, the bedroom door was slowly pushed open.

A man walked in, looking at her coldly, “Failed again?”

Ru Yu forced a smile, “Yes.”

“We don’t have much time left; do you understand?”

“I understand, but…”

“Bang…”

The door slammed shut.

Ru Yu sighed deeply.

Each time she formed a new body, her memories would reset immediately, starting from the moment she left the Yihong Courtyard to the seaside—that was when she first met the deranged boy.

Although the memories of her past killings faded, they continued to influence her decisions and actions deep within her mind.

Perhaps next time she could successfully approach the boy.

After resting for half a day, Ru Yu lay down again.

At the tumbling seaside, the slowly reforming Ru Yu opened her eyes once more.
