### Chapter 5: The Chaotic Battle (6)
==============================
In the distance, snowflakes danced down in the castle courtyard, but right before our eyes stood a peculiar girl with eyes that had no focus whatsoever.
Xiao Ai had already been through a lot of scares, and now hearing the girl muttering to herself—
It seemed like she was ready to charge deeper into the castle and unleash a massacre, treating the Fallen Species like playthings to be toyed with.
However, the earlier scene he witnessed of those Fallen Species tearing each other apart did indeed prove the girl’s terrifying strength.
Yet, Xiao Ai couldn’t help but repeat what the girl had just said, “Speed up?”
“Follow me!”
With a sudden burst of energy, the girl shot off like a cannonball.
Xiao Ai didn’t dare hesitate! Finally, he had found a big shot to cling to—he quickly jumped aboard the opportunity. Who knows when he’d get such luck again if he strayed off on his own?
The sounds of battle and shrieks echoed deeper within the castle.
The girl ran forward with her arms outstretched, her frilly skirt bouncing up and down. Her long legs wrapped in white stockings flashed in Xiao Ai’s view like a guiding lighthouse.
He even caught a glimpse of something he shouldn’t have…
The distant sounds of fighting drew ever closer.
As they approached a large reception room on the castle’s ground floor, Xiao Ai anxiously glanced back and forth.
Along the way, the ground was littered with charred corpses of Fallen Species, and the air was filled with a horrid stench.
But inside the reception room came the loud and commanding shouts of, “Ha-ha!”
The frilly-skirted girl kicked the door open with a “bang,” revealing a bloodbath inside.
Not only was the floor drenched in bl**d, but the walls and ceiling were splattered with bits of flesh and entrails.
In the midst of this carnage, a red-haired woman wielding a whip was battling against seven or eight Fallen Species flitting about in the air.
At first, it seemed she was being overwhelmed and was in trouble.
But even Xiao Ai, the novice, could tell after a few seconds of observation that the red-haired lady had the Fallen Species cornered!
The whip, imbued with flames, moved as if it had a mind of its own. Whenever a Fallen Species tried to escape the combat zone, it would be smacked back into place with a swish of the whip.
The Fallen Species screamed and fought valiantly, but a moment later, one would receive a cracking hit from the fiery whip and let out an ear-piercing shriek.
Now, Xiao Ai finally understood how all those charred corpses came to be.
“Fan jie, can you leave a little for me?” The girl looked longingly at the red-haired lady.
Although Fan didn’t respond, she simply swung her fiery whip, promptly capturing one of the strongest Fallen Species.
This unfortunate creature, suddenly freed from the whip’s grip, excitedly flapped its wings and tried to escape through the open doorway of the reception room, completely ignoring Ji and Xiao Ai, unaware of the grim fate awaiting it.
Crackle, crackle, crackle…
Xiao Ai witnessed how the girl turned this poor Fallen Species into a puppet right before his eyes.
Her empty gaze suddenly shimmered with a white light, and at the same moment, the creature was cloaked in a shimmering white cape. Just as that swift white light enveloped the Fallen Species,
Its wings, which were flapping frantically, suddenly froze, like a well-oiled machine that had run out of lubricant. It plummeted to the ground, sliding across the bl**d-soaked floor, leaving a long smear, before crashing into the wall.
Not long after, the creature was standing there obediently in front of the girl, its head lowered.
Xiao Ai even noticed that its eyes had become as empty as the girl’s, as if its soul had been completely pulled out.
“Let’s go! We need to find your companions.”
The girl was as thrilled as if she had just received a new toy.
Xiao Ai glanced back at the red-haired woman still toying with the Fallen Species and hurriedly followed the girl out of that big room and onwards to search for any other possible Fallen Species hiding around.
How strange; why did he choose to use the word “hiding”?
Before he could ponder further, a scene unfolded before him that left him dumbfounded, completely disbelieving that this could happen in Sky Sword City.
“Extermination of Immortals… it’s Extermination of Immortals!”
When Xiao Ai spotted several familiar faces that had appeared during the “Battle of Thousand Bird City” live broadcast, he blurted out.
Yes, that terrifying girl in the black dress, all wrapped in bandages from the neck down… she had single-handedly driven back the entire Heavenly Sword Sect with her eerie powers, instilling pure fear.
Was her name Mu Xunqing?
This time, her arms dangled limply in front of her as if dislocated, her head bowed as she moved slowly forward.
But the more steps she took, the more the Fallen Species surrounding her shrieked and tried to flee the scene in horror.
Ji enviously gazed at Mu Xunqing and muttered, “The abilities of Sister Mu have improved again, huh?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Mu Xunqing casually tugged a strand of hair from her head, and a visible rift appeared between the necks and bodies of the Fallen Species, as if torn apart by some void power, bl**d spurting out and creating a terrifying sight.
Suddenly, piercing and shrill laughter echoed throughout.
Mu Xunqing, with her bandaged right hand, delicately pinched a strand of hair between her thumb and index finger before sharply severing it.
The screams of the Fallen Species abruptly ceased.
Because their heads had completely rolled off their bodies, leaving only headless corpses standing frozen like wooden posts.
At that moment, Mu Xunqing crouched down, tenderly picking up the bloodstained strand of hair, seemingly attempting to place it back on her head.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to reconnect a severed strand; she tried it several times, but to no avail.
From the sidelines watching, Xiao Ai couldn’t help but chime in, “Miss Mu, it’s… hair can grow back, you really don’t need to obsess over those broken strands.”
Ji had not expected Xiao Ai to jump in at that moment, and she couldn’t even grab hold of him.
Just then, Mu Xunqing abruptly looked up, her eyes, filled with bloodshot fury, locked onto Xiao Ai.
She waved her hand lightly, and Xiao Ai immediately felt like he was being controlled by something, moving towards the bandage-clad girl against his will.
“Ah, ah, ah… help! I’m not a Fallen Species, don’t k*ll me! Ji, save me!”
Mu Xunqing, however, was focused on Xiao Ai’s fluffy hair, and her right hand sliced through the air like a kn*fe. Instantly, Xiao Ai felt a chill at his scalp as a clump of hair flew into Mu Xunqing’s hand.
Suddenly, Xiao Ai felt his strength return, and he bolted towards the frilly-skirted girl in fright.
So far, it seemed that only Ji remained sane.
Boo-hoo, so scary! He just thought he was about to meet his end!
“I knew Sister Mu wouldn’t simply k*ll anyone! But those who disturb her definitely need to pay a price.”
Xiao Ai touched his now bald head, resembling a Mediterranean, and wanted to cry without tears.
But hey, it was better than losing his life.
Everyone from Extermination of Immortals is so terrifying! Really!
