**Chapter 5: The Finale (1)**

Chapter 5: The Finale (1)

==============================

“Hahaha! Not bad, not bad at all!”

Li Hanbo’s laughter echoed through the sky, “You three did great! But others still have a chance. If you can manage to stab Wang Qianshan’s corpse just once, I’ll guarantee you won’t d*e. What do you say? He’s just a lifeless body now, ripe for the picking.”

His white cloak fluttered wildly in the wind, but his face was pumped with excitement, a slight blush spreading across his cheeks.

Ah! If only the system’s live streaming feature were still active!

After all, they were up against the Heavenly Sword Sect, one of the Seven Great Immortal Gates—the very beings all players revered upon entering the game.

But now, the Heavenly Sword Sect felt like a bunch of old rags ripe for his stomping. If this delightful experience couldn’t be shared with the world, it just felt like something was missing.

Thankfully, there were enough onlookers around.

Someone would surely carry his dashing and terrifying demeanor to others’ ears. He’d even given himself a nickname: The Dark Overlord.

Hahaha! With the Dark Overlord in town, who could match him?

With his hands on his hips, Li Hanbo was all set to flaunt his chosen moniker when suddenly a pink figure zipped through the air, so fast it nearly caught him off guard.

Li Hanbo flipped mid-air to dodge Luo Ying’s surprise attack. The surrounding Fallen Species, seeing their leader being assaulted, rushed in like a wave.

Boom! Boom! Explosions erupted in the sky as Luo Ying, nearly unimpeded, waved her dark light sword. The reflected sunlight shot into the pack of Fallen Species like a machine g*n, causing mayhem, leaving behind dozens of corpses as they scattered in panic.

“Li Hanbo, today I stand for the ancestors of the Heavenly Sword Sect to eliminate you, the traitor!

If you’ve got any shred of decency, don’t rely on others—let’s settle this one-on-one.”

Li Hanbo looked down at her from his lofty position, “Luo Ying, don’t think I don’t know you’re just stalling for time. You probably have no idea, but your partner, that guy named Lin Nan, has already fallen into our boss’s hands.”

Luo Ying jolted.

Her worst fears had come true.

With Wang Qianshan taken out by a sneak attack, morale on her side plummeted. Many disciples were eager for revenge, which could lead to a mutually assured destruction situation if they clashed now.

And to add insult to injury, Lin Nan had gone missing.

So, her initial plan to break out had lost all meaning. If Lin Nan wasn’t around, what was the point in her surviving alone?

To break the deadlock, it had to be all about taking down Li Hanbo.

The “boss” he mentioned must be the mastermind behind this crisis at the Heavenly Sword Sect. She needed to subdue or even capture Li Hanbo quickly to gain leverage in negotiations and avoid being slaughtered without a fight.

Having realized Lin Nan was in enemy hands but hadn’t been used to threaten her yet, she had to end this fast in case things changed.

Li Hanbo never expected that Luo Ying, in her frenzy, would disregard her captured partner.

With dark light swirling, she unleashed ten beams of cold light, shooting from all angles in a surprise attack.

“Haha, Master Sister, do you still think I’m that pathetic worm who used to grovel before you?”

Without lifting a finger, Li Hanbo watched as ten tentacles suddenly appeared out of nowhere, undeterred by the explosive chaos, shielding him completely without a scratch.

“The Cold Moon Witch fell to me! A mere chief disciple from the inner sect? How could she be a match for me!

I was just a little startled by your sneak attack; don’t think I’m actually scared of you!”

With a flourish of his hands, the tentacles, seemingly independent, lunged at Luo Ying from various angles.

“Ha! The Cold Moon Witch losing to trash like you? Don’t joke!”

Having witnessed the witch’s terrifying power, Luo Ying was not so easily fooled by Li Hanbo’s empty confidence.

Li Hanbo sneered, “Believe it or not, but the Cold Moon Witch has completely vanished from this world, and I, the Dark Overlord, shall take her place as this world’s new legend!”

Behind Li Hanbo, a thousand Fallen Species erupted in cheer.

They were survivors of Sky Sword City.

During the city’s lockdown, three hundred thousand souls fought for survival, leaving only these one thousand elites.

Of course, there were also a few players who hadn’t turned into Fallen Species—barely a hundred—too few to alter the situation.

“Lord Dark Overlord! So majestic!”

“The Dark Overlord is our god; if he lives, we live; if he dies, we d*e!”

“That nasty woman is no match for the Dark Overlord; kneel and sing ‘Conquer’ already, haha!”

“Such a pity for that lovely figure! Lord Dark Overlord, could you hold back a bit and leave some of her… bits for us to enjoy?”

Li Hanbo chuckled, “No problem, my little minions! As long as you all follow me, I’ll feast and you’ll definitely get the broth!”

Meanwhile, at the summit, the Heavenly Sword Sect disciples watched nervously.

“Our Master Sister will definitely win!”

“But that guy seems a bit off; my Master Sister’s dark light sword didn’t even scratch him.”

“Didn’t you hear what he said? The Cold Moon Witch, who was so intimidating, lost to him! My Master Sister can’t even compare to the witch level!”

“Hey, kid! Stop boosting the enemy’s morale and deflating ours!”

“If our Master Sister loses, we won’t have a single hope left!”

“What are you talking about, you idiot! The Master Sister won’t lose! If push comes to shove, we’ll swarm him and at least take one down, maybe two for profit!”

With a cold huff, Luo Ying unleashed her sword technique at full force.

“Cherry Blossom Dark Light Slash!”

As pink cherry blossoms fluttered down from the sky, a razor-sharp sword light cleaved through the ten tentacles like they were made of paper.

Cheers erupted from the summit.

But the Fallen Species grew eerily quiet; they couldn’t believe Li Hanbo had only this little in his arsenal.

At that moment, Luo Ying focused all her energy on that sword light, ready for a do-or-d*e gamble—either she succeeded, or she would perish trying.

As Li Hanbo loomed ever closer, Luo Ying summoned over twenty beams of dark light, attacking from multiple angles.

Boom! Boom!

With a series of explosions, just as her sword light pierced Li Hanbo’s body, instead of celebrating her victory, a chilling realization hit her.

It felt too surreal to be true.

At the peak, the cheers had barely begun when suddenly, Li Hanbo’s body morphed into a giant, thick tentacle, from which another ten tentacles sprung forth, ensnaring Luo Ying tightly in an inescapable grip.

The cheers came to an abrupt halt.

In their place, the air filled with the shrill cries and malicious laughter of the Fallen Species.
