Chapter 5: Two Husbands Competing for One Girl (1) (Extra Update)
==============================
In the subspace,
Upon seeing Exile Number One with a broken neck and her head dangling at a crazy angle, a blinding white light radiated from her.
Lilith immediately yelled, “d*mn it! She’s about to self-destruct!”
“Isn’t this subspace?” Fu Yetian asked, scratching his head.
“If her explosion is too powerful and the subspace can’t handle it, it’ll spill into the main space, resulting in a space tear. When that happens, we’re all toast!”
Meanwhile, Shiyuan, although not catching Lilith’s words, was acutely aware of the warmth radiating from Lin Nan, who was close by. Even though he couldn’t see or touch her, he knew she was nearby.
As a surge of uncontrollable energy was about to erupt, one thought raced through his mind:
Protect the sister!
He absolutely couldn’t let her get even a scratch!
At that moment, Evil Shiyuan was swinging a heavy iron rod, shouting, “Not on my watch! I’m going to knock her brain out this time!”
Impulsively, Shiyuan charged in, knocking Evil Shiyuan aside, and tightly wrapped his arms around Exile Number One, whose white light was bursting out of her skin like fireworks.
“Boom!”
A deafening explosion shook the world, sending the few people still inside the subspace reeling as if they’d just been hit by a wave—so much so that they could hardly stand up.
Then a blinding light filled the entire subspace, instantly turning everyone’s vision into an overwhelming blaze of white, as if the universe had turned monochrome.
Once the brilliant light dissipated,
Fu Yetian finally saw what had happened: Shiyuan had airlifted Exile Number One in a hug, bearing most of the explosion’s force on himself.
At that moment, he was basically a charred piece of coal, especially on the side pressed against Exile Number One.
But even so, remnants of the explosive energy caused irreversible cracks in the nearby subspace.
Fu Yetian could even hear the sounds similar to tiles shattering—“crack, crack.”
Meanwhile, Lilith remained calm, her fingers flying through the air.
“Ten seconds left, and the subspace is about to collapse!”
Fu Yetian panicked at the thought that they were hovering over Floating City. After barely escaping from Cold Moon Witch, they were about to land right back in her lap—talk about asking for trouble!
He quickly exclaimed, “Lilith, my lady, I’ll pay you 1,000 Spirit Coins! I want to return to where we first met.”
Lilith chuckled, “No problem, dear Mr. Fu Yetian. Money and I are best friends!”
As for the two boys conjured from the Monster King’s body, Lilith shrugged. She wasn’t familiar with them and trusted that the Monster King, who had once asked her to imprison Exile Number One in subspace, was no longer around.
Plus, those guys looked broke anyway,
So Lilith decided to scrap the idea of taking them along.
Meanwhile, back in the main space, Lin Nan, after enjoying enough groveling and worship, decided to leave the aftermath of Thousand Bird City in Gongsun Ding’s capable hands.
She had no desire to keep exposing herself; it was torturous. Returning to familiar Cold Wind City felt way more reassuring.
As for Shiyuan…
Where the hell did that annoying guy go?
It seemed she needed to command Gongsun Ding to continue searching for him. He could very well be hiding in some cellar, drunk and snoozing away, oblivious to the chaos that had unfolded in Thousand Bird City overnight.
When she finds him, she’s going to give his ear a good yank as a proper lesson.
You think you can just run off?
Let’s see how you like it when I break your legs!
And about those character cards…
The platinum card’s appearance fee was outrageous; let’s just dismiss three of them for now.
Only leaving Feng Yalin and Mu Xunqing.
There was a character card in the golden category that was great at healing. Mu Xunqing had just returned from being injured, and her health bar was already full.
Yet she still looked unsatisfied,
Her craving for pain and bl**d was so intense that even Lin Nan couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
That one needs to be tightly managed next time around! I don’t want to channel any of her bad habits.
As for the other character cards, they can stick around for show in the meantime; no cost involved.
Just until they’re home in Cold Wind City, where they can scatter.
Just as the Great King of the Split Land and Gongsun Ding knelt respectfully before her, waiting for their final lecture,
A sudden explosion erupted from above.
Everyone looked up in shock, and the Extermination of Immortals members quickly shielded Lin Nan, thinking yet another enemy was crashing their party.
At the edge of Floating City, Luo Ying, quietly sneaking back, focused intently. Was this the power from another dimension Master spoke of?
With the sound of the explosion, a charred humanoid form suddenly appeared and dropped to the ground.
Hot on its heels was a boy wielding a heavy iron rod, laughing maniacally, “Hahaha! Thought you could compete for my sister, huh? Now you’re toast!”
Everyone gasped.
These two just sprang out of nowhere!
Their presence was so intense, especially that loud laughing boy—with an aura of wild chaos surrounding him.
If they had been approaching from a distance, how could the Extermination of Immortals cards have missed them?
“Bam!”
The humanoid charcoal crashed through a roof, sending a cloud of dust in the air.
That boy with the rod landed right behind it, wearing a look of utter seriousness.
He remembered Ru Yu had some interest in Shiyuan. He had temporarily forgotten it due to their common enemy, but with Exile Number One now reduced to dust, this charred figure seemed to still have a breath left in him.
He intended to finish the job before Ru Yu even realized what was happening.
Let’s make sure he never gets the chance to touch my sister!
The nonchalant demeanor of the boy caught the attention of the Extermination of Immortals, who were now on high alert.
Not to mention, they could sense the terrifying energy radiating from him.
The Great King of the Split Land immediately shouted, “Aren’t you a member of the Ji Shen organization? I thought you were long gone, but here you are!”
Feng Yalin and the Demon-Slaying Squad quickly moved to surround the building, while others protected Lin Nan, worried the boy might pose a danger to their lady.
But upon seeing the boy’s upper body,
Feng Yalin froze in place, her eyes sparkling as if she had just walked out of a sauna, cheeks flushed.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight…
Eight-pack abs!
Feng Yalin’s voice was suddenly filled with a softness that was entirely unlike her usual toughness, “Little brother, you should come down; standing on the rooftop seems a little dangerous.”
Everyone else, “…”
The Heavenly Demon Sound Sisters giggled behind, applauding while breaking into song:
“Looking for friends, looking for friends,
Found a good friend,
A nod and a handshake,
Smiling and a nod,
You are my good friend!”
…
Ps: I heard the last little song has its own tune…
Originally, I wanted to drop this chapter at midnight for votes, but thought it best to stick to the usual timing. Fellow cultivators reading this, remember to vote for this book when you see this! April’s great start depends on all of you!
