### Chapter 5: Why is the Monster King So Obedient? (Extra Update)

==============================

“Boom! Boom!”

Under the pitch-black night sky, several deafening explosions rang out one after another.

A young boy, bare-chested and only wearing a tattered pair of shorts, seemed to have gone completely insane as he bounded and spun atop the “Godzilla” monster’s head.

With every seemingly lightweight iron rod strike to the beast’s noggin, it was forced to stumble back a step.

After a barrage of hits, the beast never had a chance to breathe fire. In its chaotic retreat, its massive rear foot accidentally bumped against a giant rock, sending its colossal body crashing down, shaking the ground like an earthquake.

The boy threw back his head, laughing maniacally, lifted his iron rod high, and smashed it down on the monster’s head like a comet crashing to Earth.

“Boom!”

Another earth-shattering explosion echoed through the air.

The monster lay still.

On the sidelines, Luo Ying and the Male Character wore serious expressions, their faces deadpan.

The boy’s battle prowess was simply mind-boggling. With pure brute strength, he had taken down the thick-skinned “Godzilla” without ever using a single skill.

From start to finish, they had yet to see him flex any special abilities.

If this was just the Monster King’s avatar, they couldn’t even begin to imagine the chaos it would unleash once the Monster King itself reformed. The thought was so horrifying that they dared not ponder it further.

At this moment, the skirmish between the Monster King’s avatar and “Godzilla” had come to a conclusion.

However, the boy seemed unsatisfied. As he was twirling his iron rod, his eyes darted toward Luo Ying and the Male Character.

He looked like a natural-born killer, bursting with energy; even oceans of bl**d wouldn’t drain his thirst for carnage.

Finally, the Male Character realized what the corpses in the cave were all about.

As he witnessed the boy’s eyes glinting with murderous intent like a b*llet shot toward them, Luo Ying gritted her teeth and prepared to charge headfirst into battle.

The Male Character drew his sword, ready to take them both down in a heroic last stand.

He knew his body could be revived, but with the system’s punishment hanging over him, it was uncertain if his consciousness would come back along for the ride.

Still, he hesitated not!

When faced with danger, how could he just hide behind the Master Sister like a helpless scholar?

If he were to d*e, he would d*e with dignity!

Just as they both braced themselves for a desperate fight, a soft female voice floated up from below the island, “Come back.”

In an instant, the brutal expression on the boy’s face vanished.

He turned and dashed away without a second thought, leaving Luo Ying and the Male Character staring at each other in disbelief.

They had both prepared to fight to the end, yet the Monster King’s avatar suddenly withdrew. It felt like they had just punched a giant pillow, with no idea whether to rejoice or mourn.

What was going on?

The Monster King’s avatar actually listened to some unknown woman?

Could it be that Ji Shen found a way to control the Monster King’s avatar?

But the very next second, another figure appeared before them.

The man was strikingly handsome, with long hair casually draped over his shoulders, dressed in a flowing white robe, and carrying a long sword wrapped in burlap on his back.

At first glance, one might think he was a carefree wandering swordsman.

The Male Character scrutinized him closer, planning to inquire about his origins, but a glance at the Master Sister revealed that the fearless woman—who hadn’t flinched in the face of the Monster King’s avatar—was now trembling slightly.

Could it be… they knew each other?

“Luo Shimei, it’s been nearly twenty years. How have you been?” the man said slowly.

Luo Ying took a deep breath, trying to suppress the fluttering in her heart, but feelings buried for years suddenly surged like erratic bubbles, filling her completely.

She hesitated, unable to respond.

But the Male Character stepped forward, shielding Luo Ying.

He cupped his hands and said, “I am a disciple of Falling Sunset Peak. May I know your name, Senior Brother?”

The man regarded the Male Character with a critical eye and shook his head slightly.

The girl’s appearance wasn’t too bad, but her voice was a bit rough.

When did Luo Ying’s taste become so simplistic?

Nonetheless, he introduced himself, “I am Fu Yetian.”

Fu Yetian…

That name sounded familiar.

The Male Character quickly recalled that he was the last Inner Sect Leader of Heavenly Sword Sect, a traitor!

The only reason he’d be here was that he had betrayed and joined the Ji Shen organization.

What the Male Character deduced, Luo Ying immediately understood as well.

At that moment, all the fond memories she had tried to hold onto were shattered.

She didn’t even have the right to forgive his betrayal.

After all, he had never acknowledged her one-sided affections.

In his eyes, she probably was just a particularly talented younger sister.

With that thought, Luo Ying regained her composure, her expression turning frosty. “Fu Shixiong, it’s been so many years. What business do you have here?”

Fu Yetian smiled. “On my first encounter with an old friend, I couldn’t help but come to reminisce. However, your timing is rather unfortunate. Please forgive me if I come across as rude.”

Luo Ying shot a glance at the massive creature sprawled on the island. “You’re not thinking of taking it to land, are you?”

“Precisely.”

“What are you plotting?”

Fu Yetian sighed. “It seems my little sister has no interest in reminiscing at all. What’s the joy in discussing things that haven’t yet occurred?”

Luo Ying gritted her teeth. “Reminisce? What’s there to reminisce about with a traitor who deserves to be hunted down?”

She immediately brandished her Dark Light Sword.

The sword, absorbing moonlight, shimmered with radiant streams that danced and sparkled—oh so stylish!

Fu Yetian took a glance at her sword, shaking his head. “With just one command, the boy who just defeated the monster will return. If you think you can take me down, feel free to try.”

“He’s a newly accepted disciple from Falling Sunset Peak. Just let him leave! I’d rather d*e here than go down with you.”

As soon as Luo Ying finished speaking, the Male Character exclaimed, “Master Sister, don’t!”

Fu Yetian replied, “I won’t fight you. Heavenly Sword Sect has done me a favor, which I will always remember.”

“Ha! Don’t be so hypocritical. When you betrayed the sect and slaughtered over a hundred disciples, did you think about their kindness?” Luo Ying sarcastically shot back.

Fu Yetian’s expression darkened slightly.

“Luo Shimei, whether you believe it or not, you and your disciple cannot leave here just yet. However, I can ensure your safety.”

Luo Ying sneered and swiftly attacked with her Dark Light Sword.

Fu Yetian was her Heart Demon; how could she let this opportunity slip by?

Taking him down with one strike would be best, and if she couldn’t, at least he’d feel the fury of the next Inner Sect Leader of Heavenly Sword!

Fu Yetian leaped back elegantly, creating distance between them.

The shadow of her Dark Light Sword chased after him, colliding mid-air and creating a deafening explosion.

“Think you can run? Not a chance!”

Finally laid eyes on Fu Yetian after so long, there was no way Luo Ying would back off, and she charged after him without hesitation.

The Male Character followed helplessly behind.

The duo landed right on the beach below, but unexpectedly, a net made of golden silkworm threads swooped down, trapping them tightly.

“Ten days! After ten days, I will let you go,” Fu Yetian said calmly.

P.S.: Another four updates with bl**d, ten full days. I hope the author holds out till the end of the month, and remember to vote! Only votes can mend the wounds!
