Chapter 6: Who Do You Think You Are, Calling Me Sis?
Lin Nan returned to her bedroom,
The guy who saved her life was still comatose.
However, she was astonished to see that in just a short while, the wounds on his bruised body seemed to be gradually healing.
Just how strong is this guy’s vitality?
A few Butterfly Demons were using warm water to wipe his face, revealing his slightly youthful features beneath the grime.
A human boy?
One thing was certain: there wasn’t a trace of demon energy radiating from him.
Why did he suddenly jump in front of her at that moment?
Who on earth is he?
So many questions, but it looked like she’d have to wait for him to wake up to ask.
The night passed,
Wearing silk pajamas, Lin Nan woke up with sleepy eyes,
For some reason, she suddenly felt a hint of warmth in this cold-toned bedroom.
It was as if she was leaning against a cozy radiator,
Though she knew that such things didn’t exist in the game world.
Wait, a radiator?
She suddenly sat up and looked to the side,
Only to find that her two-meter-wide bed had suddenly gained an additional occupant behind her.
Lin Nan freaked out.
Since arriving in the Asking Dao Continent, she had gradually become accustomed to her new body, and even in the buff, she no longer felt the same excitement as she did at first.
Human adaptability is far stronger than you think.
To survive, one must accept their current self.
But even so, she never imagined she’d end up sharing a bed with a man one day.
A physical change can happen in an instant, but a mental change could take an eternity.
And there she was, staring at a half-n*ked guy curled up on her big bed, facing away from her.
What a scoundrel! Unforgivable!
Go d*e!
Her fingertips instinctively conjured a solid Black Snow (thanks to a skill upgrade, she could now create a small amount of it out of thin air without needing snow),
With a flick of her finger, the Black Snow flew towards his neck at breakneck speed.
But just then, it suddenly struck her—
This guy’s back looked a bit like the boy who saved her last night.
Except now his skin was smooth and clean, completely unlike the charred mess from when he got hit by lightning, so she hadn’t recognized him at first.
Oh no!
At such a close distance, not even a Celestial could save the boy’s life!
Just as a hint of regret flashed through Lin Nan’s mind, there was a “thunk” sound—the Black Snow ricocheted off his neck and buried itself into the wall of the bedroom.
Though Lin Nan breathed a sigh of relief, she still gave the boy a good kick, sending him tumbling two backflips before landing with a thud on the ground—face-first, no less.
The poor boy yelped, “Ouch.”
The Butterfly Demons waiting outside heard the commotion and rushed in, flustered.
“Great King, are you okay?”
However, when they caught sight of the bare boy at the foot of the bed, fiercely rubbing his face, they were stunned.
“Forgive us, Great King! Please forgive us!”
They muttered as they lowered their heads and backed away.
Ahhh… they wouldn’t have stumbled upon something scandalous, right?
What if the Great King was angry? Ahhh… so scary!
Lin Nan, with a grim expression, shouted, “I’m telling you, it’s not what you think! I haven’t even asked you how he got in here!”
The Butterfly Demons halted in their tracks, glancing between the seemingly angry Great King and the boy who had secretly crawled up on the bed.
How were they supposed to answer that?
Well, you did just survive the tribulation last night and have become a top-tier demon comparable to the lord of White Feather City.
If someone could sneak into your room without being noticed, besides your consent, we really can’t think of any other way.
The Butterfly Demons exchanged glances, genuinely regretting that they didn’t jump to conclusions earlier.
Hearing a man’s voice is pretty normal, right? The Great King is a woman; doesn’t she need male companionship?
Though they didn’t know where this boy had come from, the fact that he could enter the Great King’s quarters meant she was interested in him.
Why didn’t they think of this sooner while serving her last night?
They could feel that while the Great King was powerful, she was rather shy when it came to romance. Now that they had interrupted something, she was naturally embarrassed.
The best course of action was to plead for forgiveness.
Trying to press further with the Great King would definitely lead to a bad ending.
“Forgive us, Great King! Please forgive us!”
The Butterfly Demons knelt and repeatedly bowed their heads, refusing to answer Lin Nan’s question.
Lin Nan was left speechless. What could she do? She couldn’t really go all out on the Butterfly Demons over this, could she?
“Sis, I’m so hungry…”
Lin Nan turned her head, only to find that thick-skinned brat had crawled back onto the bed, patting his belly with a pitiful look aimed at her.
This guy really thinks he’s her savior now, huh?
“Who are you calling sis? Who are you?!”
“Sis, you don’t remember me? I’m Shiyuan!” The boy wore a pitiful expression.
With a sigh, Lin Nan waved her hand, “Someone take him out and get him something to eat.”
“Yes, Great King.”
As soon as Shiyuan heard that, he jumped up from the bed, blissfully following the Butterfly Demons like a little puppy.
But upon seeing his bare back, Lin Nan felt a headache coming on. “Oh right, get him some clothes too.”
First thing in the morning, her mood wasn’t great, and now she was startled by this kid that popped out of nowhere.
Yet, thinking back to how easily the Black Snow had been deflected by his skin, and how he had blocked that ferocious lightning strike last night,
she realized this boy named Shiyuan was definitely no ordinary person.
And the way he called her sister so naturally, with that genuine look in his eyes, almost made her unable to refuse.
d*mn it, what on earth is this guy’s identity?
Wait…
What if, before her consciousness arrived in this game world, the body of the Cold Moon Witch already existed?
Could it be that this witch had known the boy before, but since her memories had not been inherited, she didn’t have a clue?
That would explain why he had recklessly jumped in front of her during the lightning strike.
There’s no such thing as unconditional love in this world.
If he helped her, it couldn’t have been a whim; it must have stemmed from this sibling bond.
With that thought, Lin Nan finally felt like she was starting to piece things together.
After a quick wash-up, Lin Nan, wearing a long home dress, slowly walked out of her bedroom.
The aroma of food wafted in from a distance, and before she reached the dining room, she heard the sound of pots clattering inside.
Lin Nan frowned slightly,
as she turned the corner and faced the dining room,
She almost lost 100 points on her Cold Value.
There was Shiyuan at the dining table, surrounded by a mountain of bowls and plates, his head buried deep like a starving tiger pouncing on its prey, a huge iron pot resting on his lap.
He was eating with his mouth filled with grease and looked like he was having the time of his life.
For some reason, Lin Nan felt her heart soften, and without thinking, she asked, “You’re starving, huh?”
Shiyuan looked up, wiped his mouth, and mumbled incoherently, “Yeah, I haven’t eaten in days.”
“Then eat more,”
Lin Nan nodded at the Butterfly Demons standing to the side.
They immediately beckoned a dozen Little Demons who came rushing in, “Heh heh” with lots of food.
“I knew Sis was the best to me!”
Shiyuan’s face lit up with happiness.
