### Chapter 7: I Want to Be a Famous Streamer
—
After Li Ying Tian and the Vulture left the battlefield, the battle between White Feather City and Cold Wind City came to an end.
Not long after, the System released the second chapter of the expansion pack, “Crisis of Thousand Bird City,” and opened the second round of faction selection.
However, the arrangements for this faction selection caught most players by surprise.
Aside from Ji Shen, the White Feather City alliance, and the involved party, Thousand Bird City, there was now room for a third-party force that might join in.
This undoubtedly left players feeling even more hesitant.
Should they choose immediately, or wait until the third-party force made its appearance?
After all, spots were limited. Once a player impatiently made a choice, it could lead to a herd effect. Even if someone wanted to hold out for more information about the third party, they might miss the chance to join altogether.
Fortunately, the waiting time given by the System was long enough.
The forum quickly filled with players urging others to stay calm, to wait and see, and not to rush into any faction until the third-party force showed up.
Nobody wanted to waste their effort in vain.
Choosing the right faction could really make a difference, just like the players who fought alongside Cold Wind City, who saw quick results in no time.
What everyone thought would be a long battle ended in just a few days, making it quite a cost-effective endeavor.
So, people wanted to make a comparison before placing their bets, ensuring they maximized their returns.
But players, when faced with benefits, are never really united.
First to betray were the streamers.
In pursuit of exclusive broadcast footage, they would descend to hell if the tips were right!
What’s wrong with rejoining White Feather City?
I just want to go all-in!
Before long, several live streaming sessions titled “XX Streamer Takes You Inside Thousand Bird City Live” lit up the recommendation page.
This strategy certainly attracted a good amount of traffic.
After all, Thousand Bird City was currently the talk of the town!
From a distance, Thousand Bird City looked no different from usual.
Even though it was night, Floating City, bathed in moonlight, appeared as a vast and beautiful aerial garden, quietly suspended in the night breeze. This majestic sky island remained a coveted destination.
But unfortunately, many players found themselves logged out due to fainting spells.
Outwardly calm, the inside was a storm brewing.
How could such a Thousand Bird City not grab players’ attention?
Cold Little Rain was one of the more well-known streamers.
She had been trailing Strong Brother, hoping to ride the wave of “Extermination of Immortals” hype.
But as time went on, she noticed her audience dwindling.
If she just mixed with Strong Brother all day without anything special, viewers would prefer to watch him directly.
Especially during the recent Cold Wind City battle, she felt this trend even more strongly.
So, when the second wave of mercenary recruitment started, she resolved to break free from Strong Brother’s shadow and carve out her own niche.
Thus, she entirely ignored the many players urging caution on the forum and promptly chose the White Feather City faction.
She wanted to be the first streamer to reveal the state of Thousand Bird City.
And indeed, she succeeded.
New fans flocked to her livestream, eager to hear her tales of the conspiracies between White Feather City and Ji Shen.
“Thousand Bird City appears peaceful and serene, just like usual. But that’s all just a façade!”
Having joined the White Feather City faction, Cold Little Rain was now able to venture close to Ground City.
“Look, everyone! Once I cross this boundary, everything changes. And you can only see this boundary line after joining their faction.”
Cold Little Rain squatted down, pointing at an invisible line on the ground that the audience couldn’t see.
Then she stood up and took a step forward.
“Holy cr*p, holy cr*p!”
“Is this for real?!”
“Too freaking explosive, I can’t handle it!”
“Oh my goodness, this is incredible!”
The sudden shift in visuals had viewers spewing comments like popcorn.
What appeared before their eyes was a mass of black mist engulfing the entire Floating City and Ground City.
What used to look like a calm, moonlit scene was blown away as a mere illusion.
So shocking!
What on earth did White Feather City and Ji Shen alliance want to do?
If they just wanted to k*ll, hadn’t their objectives already been met?
Some NPCs, still standing, sensed something was off. They attempted to break through the cracks in the black mist, but they were met by the Monster Race, who held a grudge against humanity.
After a furious scuffle, corpses of NPCs lay everywhere, a river of bl**d turning the ground into mud.
Cold Little Rain nearly choked back her nausea as she cautiously ventured across the morass of pixelated gore.
She wanted to try and enter the black mist, but the Monster Race guards barred her way.
It seemed the humans who’d just joined the alliance hadn’t yet earned their trust.
【Ding! Hold this gap for ten minutes, and you will gain the qualification to enter the black mist.】
Cold Little Rain’s eyes lit up. This task was a blessing in disguise; she had to accept it!
With the audience watching closely, she brandished the gold-level longsword rewarded by the System after the battle for Cold Wind City, positioning it against the impending closure of the crack.
At that moment, she clearly spotted a few Inner Door Disciples from Thousand Bird City barreling through the black mist.
“k*ll them!”
The great demon Money Leopard barked coldly.
At that point, a few players were clustered around Cold Little Rain.
Most players had leveled up by slowly killing wild monsters. The sudden demand to take down living NPCs left them feeling hesitant.
They recognized Cold Little Rain.
“Sister Rain, what should we do?”
After the battle in Cold Wind City, Cold Little Rain had grown accustomed to the idea of killing.
Especially since eliminating these folks was the only way to reach her goal; she wasn’t going to hold back.
Sure, in this game, the sensations of weapons piercing flesh felt incredibly real. Perhaps she’d be hesitant when killing her first victim.
But once you get used to it, it was all just data!
“k*ll them; they’re just a bunch of data! Nothing to fear!”
Cold Little Rain was great at support, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t attack.
The few Inner Door Disciples who had fled in panic were taken completely off guard by Cold Little Rain and her group.
Seeing humans acting on behalf of the Monster Race, the NPCs fought back while cursing. “Traitors! You won’t d*e a good d*ath! Don’t you realize that if they succeed, the entire continent will be doomed!”
Cold Little Rain shot back coldly, “Sorry, I’m just a heartless assassin.”
【Ding! You have gained the favor of White Feather City and the Ji Shen alliance. You may freely enter and exit Thousand Bird City, aiding this grand and magnificent endeavor.】

P.S. Lunch got served early.
Let’s see how the writing progresses today; I’ll aim for four updates if possible, but I can’t guarantee it!
