Chapter 8: Suppression
==============================
In the Valley of Ten Thousand Flowers,
Three shadows—a big one and two small ones—zoomed through the air, colliding with each other occasionally, creating explosive sounds that could wake the dead.
The resulting shockwave acted like a bunch of sharp knives, mercilessly tearing through what was once a beautiful sea of flowers, now turned into a chaotic mess for the players.
Petals of all sizes fluttered down like a rainstorm, and those near the three were swept high into the air by the gusts, forming a series of ever-dispersing circles.
Qing Yi and Zi Yi understood well the pros and cons of transforming into monster beasts. While they gained tremendous power and agility in a short time, their human reasoning would slowly fade away. If they couldn’t revert within the limited time, they would end up as mere wild beasts relying solely on instinct.
Presently, they were toying with the Silver Fox, plotting her downfall. Their goal was simple: once Si Yan became a voiceless animal, whether she lived or died, she would never spill the beans again.
“ROAR!”
The increasingly irrational Silver Fox howled at the sky, her mind consumed by a single thought: eliminate these two agile flies in front of her.
“Slash…”
Zi Yi never expected the Silver Fox’s claws to suddenly extend by nearly a meter in no time. If she hadn’t reacted faster than lightning, she would’ve just been disemboweled.
But even though she dodged, her outfit was roughly torn apart, revealing a blush-pink belly band.
“Insignificant wench! I try to give you a chance, and you just can’t recognize kindness!”
“Calm down, Zi Yi!” Qing Yi called out, but her words fell on deaf ears.
In a flash, Zi Yi transformed into a giant spider. Countless strands of silk shot out from her backside, swiftly wrapping up the Silver Fox’s limbs like a Christmas gift.
“Thud…”
As the running fox tumbled to the ground, it carved a deep trench through the flower field.
“Didi, just cover the flanks from over there,” Qing Yi sighed, feeling a mix of resignation and concern. She knew Zi Yi’s strength; as a monster beast, the Silver Fox didn’t stand a chance.
The Silver Fox struggled fiercely, breaking free from some of the bindings—but more webs kept wrapping tighter around her joints, like an amateur haphazardly mummifying.
Gradually, the Fox couldn’t move much at all; her body was marked with bloody streaks from the tough silk.
Finally, she relented, letting out a woeful wail.
“Hah! I was still considering giving you a way out, but you’re just too ungrateful and nearly took my life.
I’m not so magnanimous; if you want me dead, well, let’s get on with it!”
Zi Yi strutted over, her eight legs making a distinct “clickety-clack” sound.
“You’re about to become part of my body now.
At least we’re somewhat acquainted,
so I promise it won’t hurt a bit.”
Si Yan resignedly closed her eyes, her sanity slipping back into focus.
Although d*ath loomed, the image of Li Xiaocong flashed through her mind.
At least if she died, the Heavenly Sword Sect would lose their reason to keep him captive.
As long as he survived, her d*ath would be no big deal.
…
The spider lowered its head, and a horrifying-looking, long black tubular appendage emerged from its mouth, resembling a hypodermic needle aimed straight at the Silver Fox’s head.
“Crack…”
In that instant, a small, abrupt sound accompanied an unbearable pain shot through the spider’s mouth. It suddenly realized that the injecting appendage, its vital organ, was splitting in two!
“Ahhhhh… it hurts, it hurts!”
The spider went berserk, darting around the flower field, seemingly desperate to alleviate its agony.
“Who is it?”
Qing Yi had distinctly seen a shadow whip past Zi Yi, but now, aside from the waist-high flowers, no one was in sight.
The assassin must be hiding among the blooms!
Qing Yi let out a delicate shout, her fingers splayed wide, unleashing countless strands that swept through the flower thicket.
Her tactic worked like a charm.
In no time, a shadow darted out from its hiding spot.
“Where do you think you’re escaping to?”
Qing Yi once again launched ten threads of silk toward the foe. Even the slightest scratch could lead to immediate poisoning and d*ath!
That was her trump card, not something she revealed easily.
But this time, someone had dared to ambush her sister, prompting her to unleash the full wrath.
Regrettably, the opponent danced like a nimble sparrow, easily evading her attacks.
After several missed attempts, when the assailant finally landed again, a long sword glimmering with purple light was leveled against Qing Yi’s delicate throat.
The latter froze, petrified.

At this moment, Zi Yi felt her pain easing up slightly. Upon returning to the scene, she discovered her sister Qing Yi was actually being held by a tall, cold-faced swordsman targeting her vitals.
“What do you want!”
“If you dare touch a single hair on my sister, I’ll drag you down with me even in d*ath!” cried Zi Yi.
The spider, looming large, looked like a paltry hill next to Wei Wenxuan.
“Simple. We make a deal. You let Si Yan go, and your sister will be just fine.”
Wei Wenxuan stated, unfazed.
Zi Yi gritted her teeth, glancing back at the Silver Fox still trapped in spider silk, and replied without hesitation, “Fine.”
She decisively retracted the binding silk from the Silver Fox.
Si Yan, as if awakening from a dream, tentatively moved her limbs, but couldn’t believe she was freed.
To revert from being a beast to a human required the mind to be intact during the transformation, and any sudden attack—even a regular human wielding a weapon—could inflict harm.
However, Si Yan didn’t hesitate to curl up, sensing the favorable turn in the situation. She feared that if time dragged on, she wouldn’t be able to revert back.
Her once-silvery fur quickly shrank, morphing into a petite, snowy figure.
Zi Yi huffed, “Are you satisfied now? Release my sister!”
Wei Wenxuan replied slowly, “Very good.
But you all must send a message to Lady Ru Yu.
From now on, Si Yan is under the care of my Extermination of Immortals Sect. You shall not meddle in their lives again, or don’t blame me for being merciless!”
Extermination of Immortals?
When did such an arrogant faction, unconcerned with even the gods, appear in this world?
Qing Yi and Zi Yi exchanged alarmed glances, even Si Yan felt a jolt, her eyes wide in disbelief.
