Chapter 8: The Three Husbands (1)
==============================
Before leaving the Small Thousand World,
Lin Nan decided to take some time to give the three Shiyuans a serious lesson. After all, these troublesome guys gathered together, and if they ended up causing internal strife and screwing things up, she’d be miles away with no way to help.
After all, Good Shiyuan had previously really laid into both Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan, even planning on completely absorbing the two after merging. It’s a miracle the other two didn’t pop his head like a grape right then and there.
Now, the three Shiyuans were seated at a round table, with the usual brawling duo, Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan, surprisingly close together, leaving Good Shiyuan sitting all alone like the last kid picked for dodgeball—definitely sending a clear message.
Lin Nan cleared her throat, signaling that it was time to get down to business.
The room was spacious, divided by a screen creating two areas: the outer area with the round table and chairs, and the inner area featuring a massive bed—two-and-a-half meters wide!
As soon as Lin Nan entered, she knew Luo Ying had definitely misunderstood something.
She couldn’t possibly think she wanted to do something embarrassing, right? Ugh, it must’ve been that Male Character stirring the pot in her ear.
Really, besides her, the Male Character understood her better than anyone.
As Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan were up close and personal with her in Cold Wind City, the Male Character was totally in the loop.
So when Luo Ying heard that Demon Empress Frost North Snow wanted to borrow a room for a “meeting” with those three monster king avatars, she was bound to consult the Male Character.
As a result, they kindly arranged for her to have the best available guest room in Heavenly Sword Sect, ensuring no one was within a hundred meters.
“Should’ve seen this coming. When Good Shiyuan showed up, Frost North Snow’s look was like a complicated cheese platter.”
It’s been hundreds of years since they’d met; magic spark and all that, right?
Tsk tsk tsk, and now it’s three of them… and they’re all monster kings. Strictly speaking, the Empress has always been quite dedicated.
Luo Ying’s cheeks were flushed. Whether it was from a bit of drink or something else, who knows?
Finally, she could have some of the booze brewed by Heavenly Sword Sect! Thank goodness the battle didn’t ruin the wine cellar hidden beneath the Main Peak. When Luo Ying saw the basement full of intact wine jars, tears just streamed down her face.
The Male Character had some strong opinions about this.
“But I’ve liked drinking longer than I’ve known you, so what’s the problem?”
The Male Character had to change the subject. “Frost North Snow is kinda shy, even though she pretends she doesn’t need anything…”
“Women, who isn’t contradictory?”
Luo Ying wiggled a finger. “Don’t worry, even if she screams her lungs out, no one will hear. Three times the fun… probably not something an average person can withstand.”
And with that, Luo Ying’s smoldering gaze unintentionally landed on the Male Character’s face.
“You’ve had too much to drink.” The Male Character awkwardly looked away.
In Animal World, when they turned into animals, they spent cares-free days in the manor like an old married couple.
Thinking back, they could recall a few embarrassing moments.
Luo Ying exhaled a strong waft of alcohol right into the Male Character’s face, her cheeks a bright red like the setting sun, making it hard to look away.
Not caring that it was still daytime, the Male Character immediately embraced the delicate Luo Ying and rolled onto the soft carpet.
Luo Ying giggled, like a blooming red flower.
Meanwhile, in the room Lin Nan was in, things were quite the opposite of what Luo Ying anticipated.
Lin Nan’s expression was as frosty as a glacier after ten thousand years; anyone who got too close would be frozen solid by her intimidating chill.
This time, her main goal was Good Shiyuan.
This guy’s temporary submission was mainly due to her possessing an artifact that could easily flatten them.
With the White Shadow Sword in hand, none of these three guys could stir up any trouble in front of her.
However, if she wanted Good Shiyuan to genuinely surrender, she’d have to use a different approach.
“Hmmm… Good Shiyuan, let’s just say this time you meant well but messed up. I won’t hold it against you… for now.
But from now on, if you make any major decisions, you must inform me in advance. Otherwise, we might end up reenacting the previous collapse of the Small Thousand World.”
Lin Nan looked at him calmly.
Good Shiyuan didn’t immediately respond—he was used to doing his own thing for centuries.
Besides, as a monster king’s avatar, he inherited most of the monster king’s memories, but his own memories only activated after that big battle four hundred years ago.
So while he subconsciously cared deeply for Frost North Snow, he also felt a bit of resistance to her strong demeanor.
Evil Shiyuan was beyond fed up.
With his strength now reduced to a mere tenth of his peak, he hated Good Shiyuan with a passion, wishing he could swallow him whole to make up for his losses.
“Hey! Sister’s talking to you, are you even listening?!”
Shiyuan, being a bit of a doofus, had always excelled at gangin’ up on the underdog.
“Yeah, hurry up and answer! j*rk!”
Good Shiyuan glanced at the two avatars and shrugged. “I really wonder if I split off ninety-nine percent of the monster king’s IQ. You two are practically brainless aside from the yelling.”
“Whoa, what the heck?!”
Evil Shiyuan lunged at him, grabbing Good Shiyuan by the neck.
And Shiyuan, being Evil Shiyuan’s loyal sidekick, wasn’t going to be left out; he bit down on Good Shiyuan’s ankle.
I mean, they all have necks, right? Gotta catch something!
“Sis, look at these two! They get into a brawl at the drop of a hat; can we even talk anymore?”
The two were like stubborn gum that wouldn’t budge no matter what, and Good Shiyuan furrowed his brow, utterly helpless.
He couldn’t just fight in front of Frost North Snow; if that White Shadow Sword came down, there’d be no way he could handle it.
“Alright, you all need to leave!”
Lin Nan was not pleased.
Sure, they’d helped her a lot in the dream world, but that’s beside the point. As Good Shiyuan wasn’t fully loyal to her yet, leaving this unsolved could be a ticking time bomb.
What if he suddenly had a stroke of genius that fit his value system?
Asking Dao Continent probably wouldn’t survive another round of chaos, it’d be game over.
Not to mention, she needed more leads related to the Divine Clan, and everything revolved around Good Shiyuan.
Someone had to deal with the muscle-bound brainiacs, right?
Ugh, wouldn’t it be nice if those three could just merge? Facing three identical, yet totally different characters had Lin Nan’s head spinning even more.
