Feng Yalin can completely vanish into the darkness, making her perfect for infiltrating the Small Thousand World.

But this towering cliff standing at over a hundred meters is giving her a bit of a headache.

After some pondering, she decided to give it a shot.

After all, she’s as light as a feather—if she falls from a height, she has ways to ensure she won’t get harmed.

Taking a deep breath, Feng Yalin scales the cliff with the agility of a monkey. Initially, it was a breeze, but as the wall grew smoother, each leap upward drained her strength significantly.

“Not good, time to use a skill!”

“Triangle Jump!”

[This is a nifty little trick mastered by many female characters in arcade fighting games. As long as you’re at the edge of the platform, you can defy gravity, jumping from just about any spot in the air as your launchpad to propel yourself upward again.

[When using this skill, you’ll need to draw a boundary line; during the skill duration, you cannot go beyond this boundary.]

The limitations of this skill are not too severe; Feng Yalin can cancel the boundary setting at any time. Although the character card doesn’t have a blue bar, the trade-off is that her stamina will take a hit.

As she executed the Triangle Jump, her upward speed skyrocketed.

If someone were to observe her at this moment, they’d surely be dropped-jaw astonished.

Because Feng Yalin was hopping back and forth like a pro—one side was the cliff wall, the other was nothing but empty air, and somehow she was steady as a rock, showing no signs of falling.

“Thud!”

After a series of acrobatic maneuvers, she landed firmly at the pitch-black cave entrance. After catching her breath, she stood up and took a look around.

A narrow path wound its way inside, with some glowing stones embedded in the walls, allowing her to vaguely make out the road’s silhouette.

However, Feng Yalin’s talent was to hide in darkness; the darker it was, the better she could utilize her abilities, so the light actually hindered her performance.

She took a few cautious steps, her outline starting to shimmer into existence.

But with another glance, she vanished into the dim corridor.

Perhaps it was due to the Ji Shen folks having been here once, the traps and magic circles originally set at the entrance were now damaged, leaving a bit of a mess on the floor—perhaps remnants of Ru Yu and her crew passing through.

After all, once the Monster King’s avatar was taken away, this cave had lost its value as a bait, so nobody was guarding it, which suited her just fine.

She wasn’t interested in running into the colossal Heavenly Sword Sect again.

Even if her individual strength was top-tier, she couldn’t cut through their numbers! If something went wrong, it would just be a waste of a character card.

To her surprise, this cave located halfway up the Main Peak was much deeper than she had anticipated.

After walking for what felt like half an incense stick, she still hadn’t reached the end.

What on earth was down here?

Did Ru Yu and the others also realize something was off at this moment?

The deeper she went, the more the passage spiraled downwards, the air growing increasingly heavy, and an unpleasant smell wafted in.

Clearly, this was a cave with no ventilation.

If it weren’t for the system not popping up the clue for completing the second hidden mission, she wouldn’t dream of going any further.

She couldn’t help but wonder if something rotting lay hidden deep within—could it be the corpses of Heavenly Sword Sect disciples who got in Ru Yu’s way?

Wait, shouldn’t they have sent someone to investigate by now?

This was hardly the Heavenly Sword Sect’s style.

Unless… there was something fishy going on.

Feng Yalin continued carefully down the narrow passage, staying on high alert.

After walking a bit longer, the path became much more level.

Feng Yalin suddenly felt like she had journeyed from the entrance halfway up the mountain to the very bottom of the Main Peak.

The stench grew increasingly overwhelming.

The cave’s bottom was pitch dark, save for the occasional flickering blue will-o’-the-wisps in the corners.

If a real NPC stumbled upon this scene, they’d probably be on their knees, begging for the dead’s forgiveness for disturbing their rest!

But as a modern person, she knew that the will-o’-the-wisps were merely a chemical reaction from bones exposed to the air over time—not something to be feared.

The only reason those will-o’-the-wisps were so vibrant was that there were many corpses here, mostly exposed, turned to bone over the years—coupled with poor air circulation, creating a stench only a burial ground could muster.

She suddenly had a bold hypothesis.

Perhaps, when Ru Yu and the others entered this cave, they didn’t face any hindrance from Heavenly Sword Sect disciples—only traps and magic circles.

They’d walked all the way here and naturally sensed something was off.

How could a Monster King be kept in a place like this? No doubt the Heavenly Sword Sect would send guards here.

So they left in a hurry, only to be mistakenly discovered by Luo Ying, leading to the chaos that followed.

Since the system entrusted her with this task, it surely meant there was something worth investigating here.

Besides, Ru Yu had mentioned this place seemed particularly interesting, which made Feng Yalin feel that the secrets lurking in this cave were bound to be anything but simple.
