Everyone Thinks I’m the Villainous NPC Boss – Chapter 648

### Chapter 3: Temple of Destiny (8)

A figure, engulfed in roaring flames and plummeting from the sky like a dazzling meteor, caught the attention of most people on the scene. They naturally assumed this cleric from the Church of Light would be invincible, just like before.

After all, over the years, many little sects that dared to defy the Church of Light had vanished from people’s memories like forgetting to replace the toilet paper roll.

Now, as the Followers of the Church of Light stretched their hands toward the once-revered Goddess of Destiny, attempting to sever the deep-rooted beliefs of the people, the ethereal flames flickering at the fingertips of the Goddess’s spokesperson seemed utterly incapable of convincing even the few remaining supporters.

It was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, or an ant facing an elephant.

How could a spark possibly withstand a meteor hurtling towards it?

In the end, it was likely that only the so-called incarnation of the Goddess of Destiny would end up splattered across the ground, body parts everywhere.

However, the next scene left countless spectators gasping in disbelief, unable to process what they were witnessing.

That white flame, no longer than a dagger, actually intercepted the cleric’s blow that fell like a meteor! Before he could even react, the white flame swiftly broke through the defenses of the red inferno, turning it into nothing but ashes scattered by the wind.

A gentle breeze blew through.

Lin Nan raised her head, hair fluttering in the wind while her skirt rustled around her.

No matter from which angle you looked, her figure was perfect, like the dream girl every person had ever had, comforting and supporting them in their saddest moments.

But as the ashes of the incinerated cleric swirled around like confetti, it dawned on the crowd that the stunning woman, who made them feel utterly inferior in both looks and body, was the very incarnation of the Goddess of Destiny.

She was the glacier lotus, something they could only admire from afar.

No one could contend with a deity, especially not the Goddess of Destiny who once guided the Four Warriors and established the Demon Empire.

What right did the cleric from the Church of Light have to attack a goddess with his mere mortal body?

No wonder he was reduced to ashes—no trace left behind!

It was blasphemy against the divine!

Those who overstepped their bounds naturally received divine punishment!

After witnessing this, the fence-sitters saw their reverence for the Church of Light diminish immediately. Unless the Pope himself came, those clerics in front were no match for the Goddess of Destiny.

Hesitant and uncertain, the people once again lowered their heads to Lin Nan.

Soros, still hovering in mid-air, clenched his fists in frustration but clung to a glimmer of hope after seeing Cleric Toby ignore his orders and charge ahead.

After all, if Toby could deal with that posturing woman in one fell swoop, surely the Pope wouldn’t hold it against him.

Once the root of the issue was resolved, what was there left regarding the ownership of the Holy Temple?

What he didn’t expect was that Toby, who was just as useless, was gone for good.

Even worse, he could practically feel that the white-clad woman, whom Toby considered a rival, hadn’t even broken a sweat, effortlessly turning him into ashes.

Rather than a bizarre ability he had never encountered, it was more like a power inherent to a deity, something entirely different from mere mortals.

Moreover, just her goddess-like appearance, with a human shape, was likely formidable enough to match the Pope.

One could only wonder what monumental abilities a god truly possessed—far beyond the reach of the imagination of mere mortals.

Seeing more fence-sitters kneeling before the Goddess of Destiny, Soros realized he had to cut this mess short, or who knew what increasingly embarrassing situations the Church of Light would face next.

“Apologies, madam. We’ll evacuate all personnel from the Temple of Destiny and cede the temple to you!”

Soros was still unwilling to admit defeat verbally.

Lin Nan shot him a cold smirk. “The Temple of Destiny has always been a place for the goddess’s worshippers. Don’t play the victim here.”

If the victors couldn’t even have their say, she wouldn’t mind leaving Soros and his posse of clerics forever trapped here, keeping Toby company.

Soros felt the murderous intent radiating from Lin Nan.

Even though he was a long way from the Goddess’s messenger, he believed that if she wished, she could appear before him in an instant and take him away from this world for good.

“As you wish.”

Soros bowed his head, afraid to dispute further.

“Get out of the Temple of Destiny, Followers of the Church of Light! Immediately, right now!”

The commanding aura of the once proud clerics vanished instantly.

Under their orders, the bewildered Followers of the Church of Light breathed a sigh of relief.

At least they wouldn’t have to face the fury of the Goddess’s followers anymore.

In that tense moment, if Soros hadn’t retreated, they too might have ended up like those Black-Clad Cultists, legs frozen numb, forever losing their chance to stand again.

“Get them out of here!”

Lin Nan lifted the restrictions, and the Black-Clad Cultists tumbled to the ground, their numb legs unable to support their weight.

The Followers of the Church of Light looked at her with a combination of fear and reverence, but that was intermingled with a desire for revenge.

“Get lost!”

“Thieves, get out of our home!”

“Don’t come back! The Temple of Destiny does not welcome you!”

As the cultists passed through the crowd, they were immediately met with shouts and spit, especially from the fence-sitters, who cheered the loudest, as if they were completely distancing themselves from their previous opinions.

In no time, a rallying cry of “Long live the Goddess of Destiny!” echoed for a thousand meters around the Temple Mountain.

Many citizens, believers of other gods, joined in the chorus, driven not by anything other than the Church of Light’s excessive oppression. Many little sects had been wiped out, and countless people were forced to join the Church of Light just to survive.

Yes, if they didn’t submit, the Church of Light stripped away even their means of living.

Yet the common folk were left with no one to turn to, as the upper echelons were primarily followers of the Church of Light. No one stood by their side.

Years passed, and those who held onto their beliefs thought this turning point would never come.

They could only cling to the old statues of their gods, waiting for the Church of Light to finally consume them.

But unexpectedly, today they were fortunate enough to witness the Goddess of Destiny’s triumphant counterattack against the Church of Light.

The goddess’s messenger, or perhaps the goddess herself, appeared at the Temple Mountain, showcasing incredible wonders that amazed everyone, even the souls of the Four Warriors were stirred to come and express their respect.

Suddenly, they sensed a premonition: today, things were about to change.
