**Chapter 8: Unifying the Three Races (Part 15)**
This time, the rewards were indeed a bombshell compared to the previous ones.
Lin Nan could definitely feel it; the system was putting its money where its mouth was this time.
【Reward for Subduing Ji Shen: You have received “Moon Elope Dancing.”
It’s a kind of drape with an exterior of gold, silver, and flower-patterned thin gauze. One end needs to be secured on the chest strap of your arm, and then draped over your shoulder, swirling around your arm to do its magic.
Passive Skill: Immunity to control, slow, knockback, poison, and all negative effects.
(Equivalent to a combination of 100% toughness and body domination!)】
This was tough gear! If it were in a MOBA game, it would be a game-changer—smite the gods and buddha!
【Reward for Clearing Small World: You have received the skill “Butterfly Dance with Flowers.”
Active Skill: After activating, health percentage will decrease by 0.2% per second, lasting about 8 minutes in total.
During this time, all your attributes double.】
This skill was like a budget version of the King’s Fist, and it only doubled her power.
Of course, one shouldn’t be too greedy. The fact that this skill appeared before her preparation stage was already the system’s way of throwing her a bone.
In short, this time the system really came through, not throwing some flashy but useless trinkets her way.
With these two items, she could at least be moderately certain that survival wouldn’t be an issue.
In her private room located in the Steel Fortress, Lin Nan finished her chat with the system.
At her door, Evil Shiyuan and Silly Shiyuan were standing guard, while Good Shiyuan was grumbling about being left out of the Joint Command Center, clearly throwing a bit of a tantrum.
It wasn’t long before Lin Nan heard the sounds of another argument between him and the other two Shiyuans guarding the door.
“Let me in, you two idiots!”
“Who are you calling an idiot?! Did sis say you could come in?”
As they bickered, the three inevitably ended up in a playful scuffle.
If it were anyone else causing a ruckus in the Steel Fortress, they’d have been thrown into prison by the patrols long before.
But these three identical-looking brothers, rumored to be Cold Moon Great King’s favorites, were an entirely different story. People usually just leaned against the walls to listen to the delightful gossip.
Upon hearing the “bangs and pops” from outside, Lin Nan’s hands couldn’t help but start itching.
Then, in the narrow corridor, painful screams from the men started echoing. Moments later, she burst into the room, dragging Good Shiyuan by the scalp in her right hand and the other two by their hair in her left, and threw them right into the middle of her living room.
“How many times have I told you not to fight outside my door?!”
Lin Nan was so angry, it felt like her liver was about to explode.
Because of this, everyone seemed to look at her with strange expressions.
The trio—her favorite but contentious “sugar daddies”—constantly fought for her affection outside, undeniably satisfying the curiosity of those around.
Of course, it also had its perks; people no longer viewed Cold Moon Great King as a reclusive, anti-social figure. She was just like them, with feelings, preferences for handsome boys, and enjoyed watching them squabble.
This made Lin Nan appear much more relatable… in height!
She would gladly trade away these irritating evaluations for some peace and quiet; she didn’t want to feel like a kindergarten teacher managing three always-mischievous little boys.
You’d think they hadn’t grown up.
But, sometimes, having them guard the door put her at ease, and at night she would find herself sleeping soundly.
Just as she started to make some progress in understanding their feelings, they would inevitably get into a fight over any trivial matter. In their dictionary, the concept of restraint seemed nonexistent.
“Hey, I’m asking, can you three actually fuse together or what?” Lin Nan suddenly asked.
The three Shiyuans exchanged confused glances, momentarily stunned.
“Fuse together?”
Perhaps they hadn’t even considered that question since they split up.
After spending a long time apart, they had each developed a strong self-identity and a distinct style of acting that was entirely different from each other.
Fusing as one might mean losing part of their personality and memory.
But even they themselves were unsure if the fusion was even possible.
Good Shiyuan said, “The Small Thousand World created the Monster King, then cruelly split him into three parts, which is us now. We are part Monster King, but not fully him—like three sub-personalities hiding within the Monster King’s body, each taking over in turn.”
Evil Shiyuan shrugged nonchalantly, “As long as I can fight and see bl**d, I’m cool with whatever.”
“I just want to guard sis; I’m not going anywhere.” Silly Shiyuan scratched his head.
Lin Nan sighed. Each of them had their own quirks, and their faces resembled that of the shadow of the Monster King they once encountered.
Since moving from Cold Wind City, they had stuck with her through thick and thin.
No contributions, but at least they took some effort.
And the reason she hadn’t agreed to Good Shiyuan joining the Joint Command was that she didn’t want him mistaken for one of her lovers.
She didn’t want any cracks in the foundation before the battle even started.
Most of the time, it’s not floods that destroy a dam; it’s the ants eating through from the inside.
She hadn’t expected Good Shiyuan to take it so personally, he was being a bit overzealous.
With that thought, Lin Nan sighed, “The Monster King of yore is no longer here, nor is the Monster Queen. So, fate really has a twisted sense of humor.”
Silly Shiyuan’s eyes sparkled, “All I know is sis will always be my sis; we will never part again.”
Lin Nan patted his head, “Silly brother.”
Evil Shiyuan kicked him from behind and shouted, “I want that too!”
Good Shiyuan covered his face, clearly unwilling to be associated with the other two dimwits. Yet his looks were so much like theirs that, aside from Lin Nan, almost no one could tell them apart accurately.
He’d thought about leaving but couldn’t shake the intense guilt that washed over him whenever such thoughts crossed his mind.
His subconscious kept telling him he needed to stay with Lin Nan.
At that moment, Good Shiyuan clearly understood that even though the Monster King didn’t exist in this world, his influence over the three of them had never diminished.
Frost North Snow was still his woman, and that fact had never changed.
Where she was, the three of them had to protect her.
“Alright, alright!”
Lin Nan placed a kiss on the cheeks of both Silly Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan, and they immediately stopped fighting, like shy boys who had just discovered the joys of love, blushing and reflecting.
Meanwhile, Good Shiyuan stood off to the side with an icy demeanor, seemingly too cool to accept such rewards.
But Lin Nan couldn’t care less. She had to get these three settled down; she couldn’t have them bothering her while she was discussing important matters with the others.
A warm sensation lingered on Good Shiyuan’s face,
and in that moment, it pierced through his heart.
His heart began pounding wildly, and his cheeks flushed slightly.
What… what was happening here?
…
P.S.: This novel is indeed nearing its end, but it won’t wrap up anytime soon.
Around 200,000 words or so, the author can’t say for sure yet, but rest assured, it’s a feast for your reading delight!
