I Come From the Abyss to Save Humanity Today – Chapter 365

Chapter 153: Little Bully!

The light was a bit too bright, and my vision was hazy.

“Ah ha! You’re awake, you’re awake…” Someone was talking beside me, clearly a bit too excited.

Then, a gigantic face got uncomfortably close to mine, topped with a golden mess of hair that looked like a bird’s nest. I couldn’t see his face much, but he was invading my personal space, and his breath was all over me. Reflexively, I wanted to punch him, but as I tried to move my arm, I realized I couldn’t lift it at all.

What’s happening here…

My head felt fuzzy, and the world around me seemed like a foggy dream. My mouth was dry and bitter, my throat felt like it had been set on fire, and my lips were downright painful.

Water…

The golden-haired guy turned to talk to someone else, his voice sounding like it was coming from another dimension. I saw some figures moving around but couldn’t manage to say anything; when I opened my mouth, all that came out was a meaningless “a-woo-woo.”

“What? What did you say?” the golden-haired guy shouted at me.

“Ah… uh…”

“Little Black Charcoal, can you hear me?”

“Mmm… uh…”

My tongue felt stiff, and my head was pounding.

“How do you feel? Are you awake or dreaming?”

What kind of ridiculous question is that…

“Woo-woo…”

I really just wanted some water!

“Your Holiness, keep it down…”

Another man came over, patting the golden-haired guy on the shoulder, then bent down to look at me: “Little Shay, what’s wrong? Do you want some water?”

I nodded vigorously.

So, the man turned to leave, and before long, he returned with a porcelain bowl. He leaned down, supporting my head, helping me sit up a bit, and held the bowl to my lips.

“Here, water.”

I hurriedly leaned forward, desperate, and gulped down the clear water. The sweet liquid flowed down my throat into my stomach, miraculously refreshing me all over; suddenly, my head felt a lot clearer.

The rugged face before me was becoming clearer.

It’s Carlos…

“Cough, cough!”

I choked on the water and couldn’t stop coughing.

“Take your time drinking… Just because you woke up to my stunning face doesn’t mean you have to be so excited.”

Pfft!

Carlos took the bowl away and placed it on the bedside table, then helped me lie back down slowly.

“How do you feel? Is there anywhere that doesn’t feel right?”

Where does it hurt…

“Cough, cough…”

I coughed softly, looking at his lackluster face, rolling my eyes in annoyance.

Didn’t he see that I couldn’t even move yet?

What a waste of a question…

Not wanting to bother with those two, I licked my lips and tried moving my arms again… Ah, this time I could lift them.

My hands were weak, fingers feeling stiff as if they were someone else’s. I could raise my arm only about ten centimeters before it flopped back down, landing with a soft thud on the cushiony mattress.

What a soft bed…

Where am I?

Peering around in a daze, I saw I was lying in a room with a solemn atmosphere. My vision was still a bit blurry, but I could vaguely make out the white walls around me and the golden cross hanging on them… Did I return to St. Zayeli Cathedral?

“Little Black Charcoal, should I start calling you the Little Sleeping God? Do you know how long you’ve been sleeping…”

The golden-haired guy spoke again from the edge of my bed.

Following the voice, I could finally see Angel’s strikingly handsome face. His emerald green eyes locked with mine for a moment before he turned back: “I mean… Little Margaret, should we cast another Healing Light on her? She looks like a wild chicken holding its breath.”

???

“Shut it!”

More like you’re the wild chicken!

Words stuck in my throat, and I was fuming, my little chest heaving angrily as I glared at Angel.

But he had the audacity of a Pope and looked completely unfazed.

Suddenly, I heard Margaret’s soft voice: “Your Holiness, she’s just been lying down for too long.”

…Huh?

I blinked and turned my gaze to the beautiful face of the Saint standing behind Angel, dressed in white nun’s attire, confirming again in my mind… Yes, that’s definitely her.

Margaret is really okay…

“I’m fine.”

Seeing my confused expression, Margaret smiled slightly: “Miss Silvya, thank you. If you hadn’t woken up in time, I might really have died… you saved me.”

…What?

Hearing her say that, I pouted.

It was obviously you…

“Hey, hey, hey, Little Black Charcoal just woke up; don’t say those boring things yet…” Angel scratched his head and waved at Margaret, “Why don’t you have the nun make some porridge? After nearly ten days of sleeping, Little Black Charcoal must be starving.”

…Porridge!

I perked up, my eyes shining, as a wave of hunger hit me, and I could almost feel drool pooling in my mouth.

“Want… a… bowl…”

“Mm-hm.”

Margaret replied lightly and turned to leave the room.

Wait a minute…

Staring at her retreating figure, my expression froze.

Did they just say how long I’ve been sleeping…

Ten days!?

“I—I’m broken… that’s… so long!?”

“Oh~ she can talk now… but if only it were coherent human speech,” Carlos shrugged, looking unfazed.

“Which is why we call her Little Sleeping God… hey, do you know that during this time, your body was practically on strike? Not eating, not drinking, just sleeping away… At first, we were really worried, but then we found out you just sleep like a log. Sometimes you’d pout and frown—really entertaining… What, did you have a nightmare?”

“Uh…”

Nightmare… kind of.

But…

It’s already been ten days.

That must be the longest I’ve ever slept. No wonder my body is so stiff… Ah, wait!

What happened to the armor I was wearing? It doesn’t seem like it anymore… Who changed me?! What am I wearing now?! Is it clothes? It feels like there’s a thin layer… is there?!

My body was numb; I couldn’t feel a thing!

My eyes widened in panic, and I stared at Carlos and Angel beside me, gradually feeling embarrassed, then angry: “I’m—not wearing… clothes!”

The two froze.

Then Carlos narrowed his eyes: “Little Shay… what are you thinking?”

What am I thinking?!

I’m thinking… the last day I passed out. Before I fainted, I distinctly remembered it was just the two of them there… Wait! Victoria was there too. I remember her holding me in the end… Ah, she must have been the one who changed my clothes.

At least Victoria wouldn’t let me be n*ked in front of two men; that’s absolutely not happening.

So it’s fine…

I breathed a sigh of relief.

Then I heard the Pope’s teasing voice beside me: “Little Black Charcoal, I examined you thoroughly, so don’t worry~”

“…You!”

Even though I knew he had a habit of rambling nonsense, a fire ignited in my chest.

How could this guy be a Pope…

My body gradually regained some strength. I felt I could move now, so I tried to lift the blanket to jump up and hit someone, but I only managed to pull up one corner, and the fragrant scent of lilac wafted into my nose. Carlos, closest to me, sniffed the air, and his droopy eyelids suddenly perked up.

“Smells good…”

…Ugh.

I blushed, realizing I had been wrapped up for so long, I was all sticky with sweat… probably with other stuff too. So I quickly pulled the blanket around me tighter.

“Punch…”

My head half-buried in the blanket, I squinted at the two of them, my voice muffled, “…Porridge?”

“Huh?” Angel raised an eyebrow, looking confused, “Didn’t Margaret send someone to make it?”

“I said… punch! Get out, you two!” I shouted loudly.

“Uh…” Angel choked.

The two of them exchanged bewildered glances at my fierce gaze for a moment.

“Does the Abyss also have waking-up grumpiness?”

“How would I know…?”

“Get out—!”

“Whoa!”

“Run…”

Carlos and Angel jumped in fright and scrambled out of the room.

“Wait, Karpasky!”

Right before the door, I called out to the bearded man.

“Hmm?”

Seeing him stop and turn back, I flashed a sugary smile and grabbed the porcelain bowl on the bedside table and threw it at him.

“Coward!”

“Don’t you dare trick me! I’ll make you pay with a ‘Morm’s Sausage’!”
