I Come From the Abyss to Save Humanity Today – Chapter 496

Chapter 122: Frenzy (Part 2)

“Hehehe…”

The Fog Hidden’s bl**d-red eyes bulged almost out of their sockets. With his throat in a vice grip, all he could let out were raspy growls as his fiery hand swung at the girl’s head, only for her to block it with her arm. With the other hand clamped tightly around his neck, the two figures darted in and out in the night with astounding speed!

Boom! Boom! Crash!!

Dust, debris, and random junk along the roadside flew into the air from their violent collision. The two crashed into a house, bursting through the opposite wall. Such impacts didn’t seem to faze Fog Hidden much; despite being strangled, he kept trying to retaliate.

His iron fists, propelled by a wave of scorching wind, hammered at the girl’s abdomen, chest, and head. Each strike was blocked by her arms or the hilt of her weapon. Their skirmish created a symphony of “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh” amid the swirling dust. The girl’s slender arms were like unyielding steel, her defense impenetrable. After being pushed back several meters, Fog Hidden saw her raise a massive scythe!

Zing—

The blade, ignited by infernal fire, cut through the air with a sharp, deafening ring. In a panic, Fog Hidden instinctively turned his head to dodge, but the next moment, the girl swung the scythe toward where he had just been. Instead, he heard a gear-like “clack, clack” sound. Before he could confirm what had happened, the girl released her grip on his neck.

Clank, clank, clank, clank…

The sound of chains scraped toward his ear from behind. The scythe’s handle split into chains in the blink of an eye. As Fog Hidden coughed violently, he saw the girl yank the chains with force! Suddenly, a tremendous power slammed into his back, intercepting his retreat. Fog Hidden stumbled forward, lowering his head just in time for the gleaming red blade to pierce through his abdomen.

“Ugh…”

A muffled grunt escaped his lips before he could formulate a reaction. The girl suddenly whipped the chains upward!

Whoosh—

With the wind howling, Fog Hidden felt everything blur, and before he could register any pain, his feet were off the ground. The chains yanked him up and sent him hurtling towards the ground like a parabola!

Boom!

Boom! Boom! Boom—

In a cacophony of thudding sounds, the ground cracked inch by inch, debris exploding upwards as the man’s body, pierced by the scythe and dragged by the chains, slammed down repeatedly. His arms broke, his neck snapped, flames burst forth from the impacts, and his head bobbed weakly in the wind. His ribs jutted out through his chest; he felt no pain.

His ability to think dulled and blurred with every collision. Fog Hidden was still alive, but his body was a mess of bl**d and flesh, his face fragmented, with at least one eye sent flying. Yet, the girl showed no signs of easing up.

She swung the chains, dragging the man’s wrecked body as if it were just a hefty hammer, drawing circles in the air. Amid the immense centrifugal force, Fog Hidden caught fleeting glimpses of bl**d and guts flinging away from him. Then, the scythe could no longer hold back the force and split him open from his belly.

As bl**d and fire sprayed everywhere, Fog Hidden still couldn’t quite grasp the pain. His body was like a cannonball, rocketing off into the ruins a dozen meters away—

Boom!

Fire erupted before his eyes.

In the next moment, sensations of pain surged like a tidal wave, overwhelming him from his head, throat, limbs, chest, and abdomen, from every inch of his body, turning his world upside down.

“Ugh… ugh… Hehehe…”

Heavy stones pressed down on him, his sight obscured by debris. Buried beneath the rubble, Fog Hidden couldn’t see himself, but it was clear he wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon.

Infernal fire quickly baked the boulders, turning them red hot. In the cramped space, air grew thick; it felt like a multitude of bugs crawling over him, his muscles writhing in the flames. The itch from his rapidly healing wounds had become the last straw breaking through Fog Hidden’s reason. A groan, unrecognizable as human, escaped him. His one remaining intact left hand clawed at his face, drawing bl**d, oblivious to the bits of flesh stuck under his nails.

“Ugh, ahahaha… Hehe… Hahahahaha…”

Fog Hidden threw his head back and emitted a bizarre, manic laugh.

As the boulder pressing down on him blazed away in the heat, brilliant lava coursed over his body, nourishing his bl**d and flesh. Black smoke billowed forth, and as he cracked, popped, and fizzled, his right arm twisted back into shape, severed fingers regrowing. His vision began to return; through the hazy sight, he could barely make out the girl wielding the giant scythe step by step across the flames, approaching the rubble.

“Ahhahahahaha!!”

Fog Hidden stood up.

In the throes of wild laughter, his ribcage retracted, his twisted right arm restored, and caterpillar-like growths wriggled on his face and body. A pair of vivid crimson eyes glimmered from the hollow shadow of his left eye. He raised a hand and with a “crack” adjusted his head to the correct angle.

“I… will k*ll you…”

His throat, somewhat restored, issued a deep, chilling voice from within the fiery darkness.

“I will k*ll you…”

The bl**d-red right eye and the dark abyss of his left locked onto the girl as she approached, like a wounded beast he howled, “I will—”

Boom!

Before he could finish, the scene before him blurred again.

The girl stepped lightly, her petite form disappearing before his eyes. The next instant, it felt as though a colossal bolt of lightning struck his not-quite-healed chest, bursts of fire and bl**d erupting in an instant. He didn’t even get a chance to see how she did it, and under this overwhelming force, he flew backward as if he were a rag doll.

No resistance whatsoever.

She didn’t even need to use the Frost Order.

The wind howled in his ears, chaotic scenes spun in his sight. Fog Hidden couldn’t tell how far he flew, only that he crashed through countless sturdy stone walls, slamming into the ground with a “bang.” His body was still rolling when the girl appeared beside him, pressing his head down, and with a “boom” smashed it into the ground, dirt flying everywhere as she ground him down, leaving a long trench in her wake.

“Where’s the Jester?”

Boom!

The momentum of his backward flight was forcibly halted, and Fog Hidden’s face was scrapped against the ground, changing him beyond recognition. Bits of rotting flesh hung from his bones. Hearing that weak yet cold voice, he attempted to say something, but no words came out. The girl, unconcerned, flipped the scythe in her right hand and swung the handle down, piercing Fog Hidden’s skull and pinning him to the ground.

“Tell me.”

Smack!

Fog Hidden received a hard slap across the face.

But honestly, at this stage of the battle, this slap felt more like an insult compared to the girl’s earlier relentless attacks.

Fog Hidden’s split lips moved slightly.

“Ugh…”

Then, he got slapped again.

Smack!

“Speak.”

“Ugh…”

Fog Hidden’s lips quivered more fervently.

Smack!

The third slap knocked a few of his teeth out.

“Speak up! Where’s the Jester?”

“……”

Smack! Smack! Smack!

Bang—

After three slaps, the girl shattered his jaw with a punch.
