Chapter 205: Remains of the Deity (Part 2)
Ouch ouch ouch ouch…
“Ah… ah…”
d*mn it…
What on earth is this thing!
Incredible, unbelievable, my brain is going blank from lack of oxygen, a whirlwind of emotions mixed with extreme pain is invading my very bones. I have no strength left to struggle, my eyes are rolling back, feeling like all the bl**d in my body has surged up to my head. I can hardly imagine that I would end up here, entangled by these mysterious bl**d vessel tentacles with no power to resist.
d*mn… cursed thing…
My limbs are in tatters, the once impenetrable armor is cracking and falling apart, fresh red bl**d flows and splatters in my blurred vision, a wave of deep fatigue hits me, and I feel my consciousness starting to fade.
Great White…
The massive white dragon is lying not far below me. I see its huge eyes slowly turning, panting heavily, directing its gaze towards me.
I can’t sleep…
I haven’t rescued it yet…
d*mn it…
With the last bit of strength I have, I open my mouth and bite down hard on my tongue.
My limbs are feeling numb, but the piercing pain floods through my mouth like a tsunami; I taste the coppery sweetness of my own bl**d.
Scarlet rays of light burst forth from my eyes in the next instant.
Whoosh—
The howling winds surged up, as the dead smoke that had begun to dissipate around me suddenly gathered again, coiling into thick smoke serpents that whipped up a deafening roar and formed a world-ending black vortex. A giant azure hand ferociously erupted from the whirlwind, its palm cutting like a kn*fe through the airflow, howling as it struck down on the tentacles wrapped around my neck!
Thud!
The thick, slippery bl**d vessels were cleaved in half, dark brown plasma gushing out of the torn hole, and the tight grip around my neck suddenly loosened. My eyes widened as I gasped for air.
“Ha—… cough cough… cough, cough cough!!”
It was as if I came back to life in an instant.
I had never realized that being able to breathe air was such a blissful thing.
The feeling of oxygen filling my lungs and being circulated to my brain was crystal clear, and I breathed deeply, the senses that had been denied came rushing back to my body. The amplifying pain dispelled my drowsiness, leaving my mind incredibly clear. I controlled the azure arm to swiftly sever the tentacles reaching for me, and in the next moment, a second azure arm stretched out from the swirling black mist!
“Ughhhh—!!”
With bl**d pooling in my mouth, my dainty voice shrieked desperately; as more bl**d-red tentacles reached out, the crimson in my gaze receded, replaced by gleaming sapphire brilliance. The Power of Order surged from my exploded energy, and with a thunderous roar, a frigid current burst forth carrying countless shards of ice, rapidly expanding outward like a bomb explosion.
Crack, crack…
The air around me turned icy in an instant, and the sound of ice shattering echoed from all directions. Although the extreme cold mist lasted only a moment before dissipating, it still froze numerous bl**d vessels into icy spikes, halting their squirming a short distance from me, alongside those still entangling me in their grasp.
My head felt like it was being split open.
The backlash from using forbidden power in this world was driving me nearly insane; it felt more intense than having my limbs twisted off, like my skull was about to explode with pain. I writhed in agony, bl**d trickling from my mouth, and my vision was painted crimson.
“Ahhh—!!”
Headache headache headache headache!!!
I screamed in venting rage, trembling as I bore this maddening pain, all the while continuing to control the azure arms to swing around, smashing those frozen bl**d vessel tentacles, including the ones that ensnared my limbs, into bits, the flashing ice crystals lit up the air, and what once bound me suddenly vanished, making my body feel weightless as it began to fall.
“Great… White…”
I shivered as I called out the name of the dragon.
My hands are broken, my legs are shattered, the power of Infernal Fire has no effect here, and my injuries heal slowly under only the touch of Chaotic Power. I’m completely immobile, my head lolling down as I crash into the bl**d net and bounce back, accelerating downwards.
But I still have wings…
Moments later, the agonizing pain gradually faded away, allowing my body to relax a bit. The red hue in my eyes slowly receded, my dazed reason started to return, and I took a deep breath, gritted my teeth, flipped in mid-air, and flapped my fire wings, weakly gliding towards the direction where the Great White rested.
Hearing the commotion, the massive white dragon raised its weak head through the intertwined bl**d net, producing a soft huffing sound. The golden light on its body grew brighter, and in its narrowed gaze, there was a hint of human-like, pleading eyes.
Great White…
It’s been a year since I last saw you…
Do you still remember me…
I’m here to save you…
I wanted to reach out my hand towards it, but my limbs felt like jelly and wouldn’t budge.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh—
In the next moment, more and more bl**d vessel tentacles crawled from the gaps in the bl**d net, oozing from every visible and invisible nook and cranny, furiously pouring in.
They were going to swallow me whole.
In the blink of an eye, dead smoke, black flames, ice mist, and Infernal Fire surged and burst forth within the bl**d net. The azure arms twirled wildly like a meat grinder, flinging ice-bound dark bl**d and Chaotic-tinged red meat scraps into the air. The young woman let out a hoarse roar, trying her utmost to fend off the countless swarm of bl**d vessel tentacles, but in less than two seconds, she was utterly overwhelmed by these repulsive, writhing creatures.
And then she was thrown back.
The ferocious tentacles converged into a massive column about ten meters in diameter within the bl**d net, using overwhelming and irresistible brute force to launch the young woman’s wounded body out of the bl**d net, out of the pit, and towards the heights of the cliff, like a train crashing head-on. The battered remnants of her armor were completely crushed, and countless bloody whips lashed against her body, tearing her flawless skin and causing bl**d to spurt everywhere.
“Cough…”
The young woman flew out of the pit and spat out a mouthful of bl**d mid-air, her petite form trailing bloody streaks, drawing an arc amidst the chaos of flying debris and drifting ash in the dim sky, just as the tentacles recoiled back into the bl**d net, she fell from the cliff.
Consciousness began to blur once again.
It hurts…
I didn’t save the Great White…
It hurts so much…
I can’t feel my body anymore…
The wind roared in my ears as the intense sensation of weightlessness hit me. I hung helplessly in mid-air, my head consumed by pain, and the dead smoke entwined around my body dissipated entirely. The dizziness had me dry heaving, wanting to do something, anything, yet I could only watch helplessly as I plummeted downward.
It’s been so long…
Since I felt this close to d*ath…
So long, so long… back then…
I thought I was powerful enough to have no rivals…
Swish—
In my daze, a sharp, ear-piercing shriek cut through the air, shooting straight at me.
A brownish light flickered in my blurry vision, appearing to be a sharp projectile, roughly the thickness of a forearm, darting towards me at high speed, but fortunately, it wasn’t aimed at my body.
With a sharp whistle, it tore through my skirt, the spear-like projectile penetrating the already tattered fabric and “boom!” embedded itself deep into the rock behind me.
Bam!
My head slammed against a protruding stone, and my fall was abruptly halted. My skirt made another ripping sound as it was tugged again, my body dangled in mid-air, hanging upside down from the rising rock wall. It took me a moment to regain my senses, slowly waking up.
In my hazy sight, countless giant stones seemed to defy gravity, floating in the ash-laden air as they rose and fell.
I saw a dancer in a red dress standing upside down on one of the floating boulders, her skirt fluttering in the wind like a red bat poised to fly from the top of a cave.
