109 Got Played!
Leon sleepwalked out of the room, heading straight to the back mountain of the Holy Temple.
Roswiser followed closely behind him.
Watching his movement, the Queen couldn’t help but mumble, “What a cunning Dragon Slayer! He didn’t hide the photos in the room after all. With this vast back mountain, finding a few photos will be like searching for a needle in a haystack.”
But luckily, she had a human-shaped, dream-walking “magnet” that could pull out that tiny silver needle lost at sea.
Additionally, Roswiser discovered a little trick around two-thirty in the morning.
If she asked Leon a direct question, he would only respond for one minute; after that, he’d go completely silent.
However, if she wanted to make him do a dare, then judging by the current situation in the Moon Fee Group, Leon wouldn’t stop until he had completed the dare.
With that thought in mind, Roswiser smirked.
It seemed that letting him do dares would yield better results, more bang for her buck.
With that thought, Roswiser followed Leon up the back mountain.
After about twenty minutes of hiking, they finally laid eyes on the cherry blossom forest ahead.
This brought back some not-so-great memories for Roswiser.
Not long ago, after awakening from the bl**d Enchantment, Leon took her to this exact spot as their first “outdoor checkpoint.”
He claimed it was to repay her for forcing him in the woods outside the Empire, so now he wanted to take revenge right in front of the Silver Dragon Temple.
So, two revenge-seeking people probably shouldn’t get married; otherwise, this household would never see peace!
Bringing her thoughts back, Roswiser entered the cherry blossom forest with Leon.
But Leon’s steps didn’t falter.
“Isn’t it hidden here…?”
Truth be told, this cherry blossom forest held some significance for the two of them—good or bad, it was still meaningful—so Roswiser originally thought Leon would hide the photos here.
Since it wasn’t, she decided to keep following him.
Next, the sleepwalking Leon led Roswiser to a small creek.
This place was also familiar to Roswiser, as it was the second checkpoint they visited after the cherry blossom forest.
That night, the starry sky was mesmerizing, and the cool river water flowed beneath them, contrasting with their heated bodies.
Roswiser let out a little “hiss,” shaking her head to clear those chaotic memories from her mind.
She glanced at Leon, who still showed no signs of stopping.
Clearly, the photos weren’t here either.
They jumped over the creek, heading deeper into the woods.
After passing a few more of their past checkpoints, Roswiser made an interesting—or perhaps coincidental—discovery.
The places Leon took her to were all their outdoor combat checkpoints—and they were in order too!
They say dreams reflect a person’s inner thoughts, so perhaps sleepwalking does as well?
So, that outdoor adventure must have brought this Dog Man quite the sense of achievement.
“The higher you hold it, the harder you fall. Hmph, enjoy your dreams while you can, Dragon Slayer. You’ll get yours later.”
The Queen’s heart stirred as she continued to follow Leon.
As they walked, they came to a poplar grove.
This place was not one of their past checkpoints.
The air was cool, and the evening wind rustled through the leaves about to drop, creating a soft rustling sound.
Creak—Creak—
Beneath their feet was a carpet of fallen poplar leaves; the sound underfoot was crystal clear.
Suddenly.
Leon in front of her stopped.
Roswiser halted as well, furrowing her brow as she stared at the man’s back.
A gust of wind swept through the woods, lifting the leaves between them.
Silver strands brushed against Roswiser’s face as she surveyed her surroundings, wondering if the photos were hidden here.
But Leon wasn’t searching for anything; he stood there motionless, facing away from her.
In a moment, Roswiser had a sudden realization.
Creak—
The man in front of her turned slowly, his foot crunching the leaves as he spun around, his handsome face illuminated by the moonlight, boasting a smug smile.
“Gotcha…!” Seeing Leon’s grin, Roswiser immediately understood what was happening.
He never actually fell asleep and didn’t follow her orders to go on a dream adventure at all.
This guy had been playing along with her act the whole time.
Poor Queen, toyed with at the hands of the sly Dragon Slayer.
His docility was merely a weapon to disarm his enemies—once he got the chance, he’d return the favor tenfold.
She felt a burst of frustration.
A sense of powerlessness washed over her, as if no matter what she did, she couldn’t escape Leon’s control.
However, she silently committed this feeling to memory, as it would fuel her future revenge.
Failure is the mother of success. Thirty years in the east, thirty years in the west; Roswiser wouldn’t believe she couldn’t regain the upper hand.
She stumbled back two steps, leaning against a poplar tree.
Creak—Creak—
That man who had her firmly under his thumb walked slowly toward her, his footsteps crunching the dry leaves, sounding like the crumbling of Roswiser’s shattered will to survive.
Leon stood before her, looking at her dazed expression with a smirk.
“Although I don’t know what charm you used to make me obedient, it’s clear that charm isn’t working.”
Roswiser stared at him, thinking, you fool, there’s no charm! It’s clearly your own strange little weakness!
But Roswiser wasn’t planning to disclose the two-thirty thing to Leon just yet.
Even though she tripped up this time, she still got a good way to extract his heartfelt truths or make him go on dream adventures.
There would definitely be a day when it’d come in handy.
Moreover, from what he just said, he didn’t even seem to realize he had this weakness.
His Master likely didn’t tell Leon about it either—probably just to make him do more chores!
So Roswiser couldn’t reveal it; if she did, Leon would definitely try to overcome this quirky little weakness.
Who wouldn’t want more trump cards, right?
Even though she was temporarily in a tough spot, the Silver Dragon Queen still moved cautiously, step by step.
“You should be quite familiar with the places we just passed, right?”
Leon said as he moved a little closer.
Roswiser was cornered, with her back against the tree trunk, her body tightly pressed up against it, and Leon was right in front of her. She could even feel his warm breath.
Being scrutinized by those dark eyes, Roswiser felt both shy and angry.
It turned out that his little tour of those checkpoints wasn’t just for fun; it was to dredge up her memories.
Realizing this, she turned her head away, but Leon reached out, gripping her chin to force her to look at him.
“Tell me, Melkway, what part of today’s outdoor class did you like the most? The cherry blossom forest, the creek, or… this poplar grove here?”
Since Leon had seen through her little scheme, Roswiser saw no need to pretend to be a damsel in distress anymore. “I didn’t like any of it, especially not this place!”
“Hmm, great! Then let’s have our last class of the night right here.”
“You!……”
Not only slaying dragons, but also targeting the heart.
How cruel you are, Casmod!
Before Roswiser could say anything else, that large, cool hand grabbed her delicate waist, pulling her into his embrace.
Moments later, his warm, soft lips descended upon hers.
Roswiser initially struggled a bit, patting Leon’s shoulder, but it only made him kiss deeper and hold her tighter.
Eventually, Roswiser surrendered.
If she couldn’t resist, she might as well enjoy this kiss before the storm.
After all, ever since Leon unlocked the kissing skill, he had always been gentle with her, not like those so-called “overbearing Dragon Kings” who were greasy and rough.
As the kiss deepened, the Dragon Pattern flickered.
Splash—
The beautiful figure of Roswiser fell onto the leaves, sending up a flurry of golden hues, with her hair swaying among the leaves, resembling a silver tassel at dusk.
Roswiser accidentally pinched a leaf between her fingers, bringing it to her lips, and then she bit into it.
Creak—
The leaf crunched beneath her teeth, as if announcing the beginning of a brand-new game.
