Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You – Chapter 117

120 I’m Not the King of Studying

After lunch, Leon and Roswiser started chatting away while they washed the dishes together.

In truth, there wasn’t much time for them to chat throughout the day.

Roswiser was busy with the ins and outs of the Silver Dragon Race, while Leon had to take Moon for her magic initiation.

Moreover, both of them clung to the philosophy of “Why would I chat with you when I’m already full?” Basically, unnecessary conversation was off the table.

Nonetheless, there were some things Leon had to clarify.

“So your birthday is in a few days, and it’s going to be just like human birthday customs, right?” Leon asked.

Roswiser nodded, “Yep.”

“Okay. So, um, how old are you this year?”

“Eighteen—”

“EIGHTEEN?!” Leon was so shocked he almost added a curse word to his disbelief.

“Zero to two hundred years old.”

“……”

Roswiser tilted her head at him, her beautiful eyes forming happy little crescents before she put on a serious face and asked, “What does age have to do with a birthday? Isn’t it all just a routine?”

Leon shook his head, “The routines might be similar, but there are still some different details.”

“Details?”

Leon shot her a glance before returning to his dish scrubbing without further explanation, simply saying, “You’ll find out.”

Roswiser pouted, “Now you’re being all mysterious.”

Leon shrugged and didn’t bother to respond.

Roswiser dropped the other topics and, after finishing the dishes, didn’t rush to leave like usual. Instead, she went to her balcony and gazed at the back mountain.

Roswiser wiped her hands dry and walked out of the kitchen, glancing at Leon’s silhouette on the balcony, asking, “What are you looking at?”

“Nothing, just casually looking.”

“Such a mystery…”

Roswiser mumbled, turning back to her office, where she started tackling the mountain of work.

Time passed, and by the time she looked up to take a break, Leon had already left.

Roswiser frowned slightly, “He comes and goes as he pleases. It’s like my room is his personal space now. I guess I should give Leon a lesson on etiquette sometime.”

The Queen snorted and lowered her head to work once more.

In the afternoon, Leon took his two daughters to the library.

While preparing for Roswiser’s birthday, Leon didn’t forget his own important matters.

He continued searching for a solution to his magic depletion in Roswiser’s personal library.

Moon was diligently working on the homework that Leon had left for her at the desk by the floor-to-ceiling window.

If there were parts she didn’t understand, Noia could help explain.

As evening approached, Noia found a young dragon book for Moon, treating it as a post-homework relaxation time.

Then she glanced at the rows of bookshelves in the library—Dad seemed to be looking for something.

Noia thought for a moment, hopped off her chair, and slowly walked over.

At that moment, Leon was engrossed in examining an ancient tome.

“Dad, are you looking for something?” Noia asked as she approached.

Hearing that, Leon smiled and returned the ancient book to its place, “Nah, just browsing, passing the time.”

He didn’t want his daughter to know about his magic depletion.

Not only would it make them worry unnecessarily, but it could also reach Roswiser’s ears.

From the current situation, Roswiser seemed unaware of his magic depletion; she probably just thought he hadn’t fully recovered yet, which was why he hadn’t used any grand destructive magic.

If that Mother Dragon found out about his real situation, he would definitely receive a face full of “You’re so weak!”

Plus, Leon understood the wisdom of keeping a low profile until he had completely recovered—no leaks were allowed for now.

Unfortunately, after an entire afternoon of research, Leon still hadn’t pinpointed the issue.

Just as he suspected, this was going to be a long haul.

Fortunately, Leon had enough patience for “problem-solving.”

He adjusted his mood and looked at Noia, “Has Moon finished her homework?”

“Not yet, but she’s close.”

Noia paused, then added, “I think with your teaching speed and Moon’s learning speed, in half a month we should be able to start her magic initiation.”

Leon nodded, glancing towards the floor-to-ceiling window where Moon was pouting with concentration over her homework.

“I wonder what Moon’s primary element will be.”

Noia, also looking at her cute and serious little sister, smiled and said, “Fire or thunder.”

Roswiser had mentioned to Leon that almost all dragons awaken their innate element as fire.

But Noia was thunder, just like Leon.

Later, Leon asked if a thunder element among all fire element students would face bullying or isolation.

After all, kids can be cruel—often viewing “special” and “different” as reasons to ostracize.

But Roswiser said it wouldn’t happen. Dragons can awaken elements other than fire, and it wasn’t strange at all.

That put Leon at ease.

He shifted and squatted down to ask, “So what do you think? Will Moon awaken as thunder or fire?”

Noia pondered for a moment, stroking her chin, “Mom’s element is fire, Dad’s is thunder, mine is also thunder… So, to keep Mom psychologically balanced, if I were Moon, I’d try really hard to awaken as fire.”

Leon burst out laughing at Noia’s reasoning.

He affectionately ruffled his daughter’s hair, “What element you awaken isn’t something you can just decide by trying hard.”

Noia scratched her head, chuckling, “It’s just a hope. By the way, Dad, speaking of thunder element…”

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“In just over a month, Saint His Academy will be on winter break. During that time, I’ve learned quite a bit of magic basics, so can you teach me more thunder magic during winter break? That way, when school starts next semester, I’ll have an easier time with the classes.”

Leon froze.

Not because he was surprised Noia would make such a request.

In fact, quite the opposite; if Noia didn’t engage in “study battles” during winter break, it would be out of character for her.

It’s just that… Leon was still dealing with magic depletion, and proper teaching of thunder magic would definitely involve demonstrations.

By that time, his daughter would expect a spectacular “Heavenly Thunder Annihilation,” but all Leon could manage would be two tiny sparks.

Daughter: “That’s okay, Dad. That’s kinda cute too. I’ll just go ask Mom to teach me.”

No way!

This absolutely cannot happen!

His position in the family was hard-earned, and the respect his daughters held for him was even harder to come by!

With over a month left until winter break…

Leon pursed his lips, gritted his teeth, and finally agreed, “Okay, no problem! I’ll teach you more thunder magic when the time comes.”

Noia’s eyes lit up, her little face bursting with joy as she leaned forward to hug Leon around the neck, giving his cheek a gentle kiss.

“Thank you, Dad!”

Noia happily turned around and dashed off to find Moon.

Leon let out a silent sigh of relief, “After I celebrate the Mother Dragon’s birthday, I need to work harder!”
